+Joel courchesne Mine has float fittings. The floats I've seen weigh 70 lbs. My landing gear probably weighs 20 lbs. I don't know how it would handle an extra 50lbs. U would probably b ok with the Rotax.
+robert nobody Thanks! I've put 30hrs on it since I posted this video. It's a blast to fly and only burns 1.7gph. it's hard to believe you can fly for less than ten dollars an hour! I should have another video ready by January.
Great Video i have been looking at a pup for a few weeks now seriously considering picking it up but wanted to do some research first this one is half finished the only thing i am having a issue with is finding available plans any ideas ? any help or advice would be great thanks
John Pickens Hey John, Check out the "fly preceptor" yahoo group. I think they have all the plans in the files section. The only thing I'm not satisfied with on my plane is the cruise speed is only 55mph. I'm gonna b posting a video soon with all the performance data.
man you look so comfortable flying that machine, is this good craft for a beginner? sure looks like it, or you make that pup look so smooth, Im looking to buy one. any update from you? how many hours you at now?
I bought one myself about 18 months ago, still tinkering.... mine has a cassler 1/2 vw, no carb heat. doesn't look like you have carb heat either. Had a few people tell me not to fly without it, but as someone flying without it, what are your thoughts on the topic? I'd be very interested to hear what you think. Thanks! - Bryce in PA
+bcberryfarm I do have carb heat. Haven't experienced any icing problems in the 45 hrs i've flown it. Still wouldn't recommend flying without carb heat. Most of the ntsb reports i've read on these are because of carb ice. It gets it's heat from a shroud on the right cylinder head. It uses 1.5 inch scat tubing to route it to a box on the front of the carb.
Perfect song for the maiden voyage 🤘
Great video and music. Looks fun! Thanks for sharing.
😎😎
Fucking awesome 👍
+Fire Bolt Thanks! I fly it several times a week. I'm working on another pup video now. It should be ready in january.
