I have a few creek finds I have demonstrated to family and friends what a 8000 year old stone point can do. I vigorously make cutting moves on my palm with zero damage, then I grab my piece of raw hide and do the same thing, it slices it like butter!

Hmmm? I guess maybe I can live with shorter videos, 20 minute videos are what many seem to be making.

The world, if part of it at all makes us conform more and more to time constraints, the younger people demand things in short format, and most are cool with it because that's how everything else comes at us...

I think I graduated last week. I made two stone atlatl darts. My accomplishments thus far has been GLASS only. Not sure what the material is or even where I got it. It sounds like flint/ chert with the "TINK" sound. It is a pinkish tint with hints of reddish orange swirls. I will email pics to visionquest. A critique is expected, always willing to learn, it's part of why Im here.

@@Wildernessquestoutdoors I was going through ebay for material costs and seen some rock that looks like what I used, it was listed as Keokuk Chert, I wish I could remember where the hell I got it from. Old guy memory sux, cholesterol meds and blood pressure meds both jack up recall a lot. It's not Alzheimer's, I quit taking the meds for a few months and memory was normal again. Having played Army for 13 1/2 years, I can still chew some ass without missing a beat, R. Lee Ermey couldnt keep up! Problem is when I get wound up, look the fock out, I get a bit carried away. LMFAO oh well, lifes a bitch and then you die!

@@Wildernessquestoutdoors I am trying to find a ride over to the quarry just south of Georgetown, Texas. I don't have a gas powered vehicle. I have an electric bike and two batteries that gets me to the bank at 42 miles roundtrip, then to grocery store at 18 miles round trip and finally to my VA Dr. appointments at 32 miles round trip. Then of course to the creeks, 3 are within a 5 mile radius and 7 creeks and 2 rivers in a 10 mile radius. Montgomery County Texas SH 242 and FM 1485. is my area.

@@Wildernessquestoutdoors Georgetown is roughly 200 miles, at 50 miles a day, it would take well over a week there and back. Then there is the weight limit for the bike and child aka grocery trailer to consider making it a wasted trip. Camping out every night to recharge batteries, hoping no rain, all for 50 lbs of flint. UGH!
