I really find it impossible to choose a favorite. The Duo is incredibly emotional as it sounds and feels like a duel or argument. The Piano and violin are continuously complimenting, accenting and contrasting one another. With the orchestral backing, the violin is emphasized and and the orchestra is just background but because of this the sound of the violin can be heard and appreciated in a different way.
Amazing.... Maestro ITZHAK PERLMAN 🎻❤️🌷 Hy is my favorite violinist and naw thè best violinist! Thank You Maestro Itzhak Perman for Your talent and Your soul!
brano immortale, meraviglioso, eccezionale, pieno di passione e di vigore, dal genio di Saint Saens. E' anche un cavallo di battaglia del grandissimo Maestro Uto Ughi
I CAN'T STAY AWAY FROM HEARING PERLMAN PLAY THIS SONG. I love you and that violin. You are so amazing, an angel on strings-heavenly. ladies and gentlemen, coming to the stage is "HE GOT SKILLLLLLLLLLZ...MAN!!' Itzhak Perlman. Astounding.
I personally like all the performances of the great masters whom I learn a great deal of both interpretation and technique! UA-cam is a great learning experience and environment for me! I am thankful!!!
Al escuchar ciertas piezas para violín, más aún si están bien interpretadas, cuando el sonido se te cuela al corazón y lo hace vibrar... realmente me duele no haber seguido con el violín. Gracias a quien publicó estas versiones
after listening to other masters of the violin attempt this piece, I am just floored by this interpretation. The intensity is in all the right places. I can't listen to any other version!
"Appreciate the old" This is one of my favourite pieces. That doesn't mean people aren't entitled to dislike it, or to express that dislike. And dislike of a beautiful piece of music does not make someone primitive. It is a question of taste, not character.
I haven't heard a Heifetz or Oistrakh recording of this piece. Of all the recordings or live videos I have heard/watched, Perlman's interpretation is still my favorite.
expected nothing less from one of the greatest violinist of all times. I usually get envious of good violinists but when I listen to Perlman I dont get envious because its a fact I can never catch up to him :/
Anybody that dislikes this either doesn't play the violin or doesn't understand the complexity of this composition. Perlman is the greatest violinist of the last 100 years, no disrespect to Isaac Stern.
I am back, this song is so moving and the way he plays it is absolutely wonderful. Your hands and that violin are heaven sent. Amazing....amazing. From now on your name is Itzhak 'HeGotSkills-man' Perlman. Bravo. You know you can MASTERFULLY PLAY that violin, and I am in love with the way you do-truly.
best version ever~ i have watched this video SO MANY TIMES~ you can even hear his amazing techniques without having to see him performing. for me the tempo is just right and his liberamente bits are so satisfying~ heifetz's precision is TOO GOOD it sounds so mechanical to me~ this version sounds like the violin is singing
Listening to perlman’s interpretation of this piece is so nice. I’m currently playing this piece rn and it really is so fun to play and beautiful to listen to! ^^
Incredible. Amazing. Feel sorry if someone feels otherwise... We may be have only one radio channel in Soviet union, but we were culturaly and spiritually much richer than people here in US.
the first time i heard this piece, was when it is played in flute by Jasmine Choi. it was so enchanting that it sounded like a fantasy piece where fairies and elves came out and flowers are blooming, i thought it was written for flute . Then i hear the original violin piece, it was so sad yet very romantic, feels like a piece longing for someone.. how did this piece sounded so differently by changing the solo instrument. A master piece for flute and Violin.
The elitism in this thread strikes me as sad. Everyone is introduced to the classics in different ways, whether it be from a classical education, a movie, or even a television show. But the how of it is not important in the slightest. What is important is to appreciate the beauty of these pieces, and to appreciate the skill of those who transmuted emotion into sound.
im happy to admit I'm not that clued up about classical music. I heard this on Classic FM sitting in an Asda car park went straight on amazon and bought it :D
Perhaps what you view as elitism is just their/our way of explaining what/why/how we love the music. Your comment might be described as the elitism of the "beauty for beauty's sake" proponent. Let's all enjoy it our own way and allow others the same right. 😀
lol! This piece is so beautiful, I don't understand how anyone would say otherwise. Something tells me he hasn't touched an instrument in his life, let alone a string instrument.
Wow...07:30-08:00 - absolutely rock steady precision in the rhythm. That's some robotic control there. Wondering if Roby Lakatos ever played this piece :)
I found this song because of your lie in April. But I think that we of the anime community should calm down a bit. A good portion of the comments are about the show, not the marvelous performance these musicians just gave. The show is great and I love it, but here it is these performers chance to shine not Kousei or Karoi's. But with all the comments being on your lie in April it feels to me like the people who played this aren't getting the attention they deserve. I have always like more classical music then the majority of people (especially if the violin is the focus. It is my favorite instrument ), and understand that it can be rather donating task to find pieces and easy to miss ones you would enjoy, with the variable sea of composers and pieces. I could have never heard of this pieces or the Kreutzer without the show, but when you are here you should focus on this rendition not the show.
+Leomerya12 He's stolen so much classical music for his soundtracks. See Dvorak's Ninth Symphony Finale, or the first movement of the Tchaikovsky Concerto in D Major.
They're musical quotations, and that's far from unusual. The final movement of Shostakovich 's viola sonata is a homage to the first movement of Moonlight Sonata
Screw whoever was giving thumbs down to the comment about the trumpeter doing this. It's a phenomenal accomplishment to be able to play this piece on a brass instrument! And why not?! Brass music isn't as good as strings music!
Listening to Perlman makes me understand why the violin is dubbed the king of instruments, such amazing skill
What a masterpiece
And Perlman is in class by himself!
This music is amazing because Saint-Saens wrote it. It's beautiful because the violinist plays it. It's awe-inspiring because Perlman performed it.
History will record Perlman as one of the greatest violin players of all time. How can there be any "dislikes"? This performance is stunning.
Soft and strong, delicate and magnificent. Has everything.
well put!
that violin sounds beautiful, and his playing is incredibly powerful. i love his articulation.
Omg the love I have for this piece and Perlman playing it...
What a difference that an orchestral backing does compared to a single piano accompaniment does to a piece. Wow.
+Bryan C which do you like better?
+Lukas Hofstätter suppose it will depend on what you heard first...
Personally, I like the Violin/Piano version because of the emotions between two people being tossed around. It's more intimate in my eyes.

I played violin until last summer. Beautiful instrument. I miss it with all of my heart.
That phrase from 1:43 to 1:49 is just PLEASANT. I was madly in search to find this piece again and burst into joy when I found a recording of Perlman.
Astounding.
When I feel like I'm done practicing, I listen to this. Reminds me how much more I have to practice
I love the way he plays this song. He plays a variety of emotions that just pulls at my heartstrings.
Need some help with those heartstrings?
Исполнение Ицхака Перлмана превоcходно! Виртуоз и волшебник!
Shigatsu brought me here and I'm glad to find that Itzhak Perlman is the first search option that comes up :)
There are so many wonderful recordings of Saint Saens' Introduction and Rondo C on UA-cam, but this one touches my heart.
I personally like all the performances of the great masters whom I learn a great deal of both interpretation and technique! UA-cam is a great learning experience and environment for me! I am thankful!!!

I just love the passion in this song! Perlman plays like a god!
hes amazing, definately one of the best vionists ever.
Such a beautiful piece played to near perfection by the best violinist. I strive to play this good.
This... This is exquisite. One of the best things I have ever heard coming out of a violin.
after listening to other masters of the violin attempt this piece, I am just floored by this interpretation. The intensity is in all the right places. I can't listen to any other version!

Splendida interpretazione!! Non si può chiedere di meglio
I love his precision....crispness..and of course his humanity
Yes - Oh the Humanity....
a true and pure music doesnt need motion pictures to express itself
It's impossible to be more musical and more sensible than Itzhak is in that piece.
What a genius was Saint-Saens!!! How could he make such an amazing combination of sounds! I feel shievers all the time when i listen it!
what a masterpiece. I haven't heard this good of an interpenetration for many years. Very tight. Excellent tempo.
I haven't heard a Heifetz or Oistrakh recording of this piece. Of all the recordings or live videos I have heard/watched, Perlman's interpretation is still my favorite.

Incredible... I always get chills when I hear this part 3:23 ... Itzhak is my hero!
I have revised my life long view of this musicians cometence. He is most musical performer in every phase of music that he performs.
This is the definition of perfection.
This piece is just wonderful, so great variations and themes, great emotion and fantastic violin expression!
I adore! saw it in concert... it was: wow
Gorgeous and Perlman is brilliant as always!
Wonderful, merveilleux , quel chef d'oeuvre et quel violoniste de génie!
I like very much your version Maestro Ithzak Perlman 🌺
0:00 -> 0:53 Touches my heart & soul

There's a brilliant trumpet version too, and it sounds completely different again. Played by Sergei nakariakov, give it a listen
this is defenetly among the top of the list of my favorite songs
such a warm sound plus his violin is the best!

osunightfall I agree, but they don’t have to comment about how they got here; all that matters is that they are indeed here.

@@justinexyz Isn’t it superb?

Best playing of this piece that I've heard!
I love both interpretations, Heifitz and Perlman. Of course, outstanding!
lol!
This piece is so beautiful, I don't understand how anyone would say otherwise.

John Williams picked up the intro of this for "The Force Awakens". I recognized it immediately.
+Leomerya12 He did? Wow. I never noticed. I'm gonna go and look now.
Sharath SH I would have posted the exact track, but I heard it on Pandora and they didn't give the name of it.
+Leomerya12 He's stolen so much classical music for his soundtracks.
See Dvorak's Ninth Symphony Finale, or the first movement of the Tchaikovsky Concerto in D Major.
not really stolen but more of influenced. composers sometimes copy certain themes to compose
They're musical quotations, and that's far from unusual. The final movement of Shostakovich 's viola sonata is a homage to the first movement of Moonlight Sonata
He's very much close to perfection!!
This is beautiful...
