Isn't it trippy how we've all watched them grow up over the years?? And they've turned out to be such good humans too!
I feel like I've grown up with them!!!
Major credit to the parents for giving them opportunities but keeping them grounded.
Why do I feel your comment made me see that the place I live in is wrong and everything around me and my life is without meaning. this is very sad 😔.
What's really trippy is, I feel like I've watched them grow up and still see them as kids but they're about my age (well Freddie more so). I can't get my head around how it feels like 5 mins ago he was that tiny little lad in finding neverland and it feels like an entire lifetime ago I was that age, trippy af! It honestly is 🤣
@@eclaire_x88x I'm just glad Freddie is still a great actor today. Bates Motel & the Good Dr are both great
Denying Freddie even a nomination for Bates Motel, has to be one of the Emmys' biggest crimes.
YES...yes, it was.
Vera Farmiger was the star of that show though, she was incredible
Farmiga was the star Seasons 1-3, but Highmore really took over Seasons 4-5.
@@drlee2 i thought its only 4 seasons? at least in my country on netflix its 4?
Sv Vr There was definitely a 5th season.
Freddie is that boy that every girl hopes to have as a son one day.
or girlfriend....
did you just sonzone him?
lorcldia lol sonzone, this is new
Or husband?
ghostie7790 so true!!!
i'm glad Hollywood didn't get to these guys. they matured into great adult actors that'll have an amazing adult career. Respect to their parents for not letting fame get to their head and keep them grounded
Yes! That is what is so awesome and refreshing about them both!
Actually young singers are the ones going crazy at point most of the time XD

Dakota Fanning and Freddie Highmore are probably the MOST unproblematic and MOST talented child actors who’s grown up to be wonderful not just actors but also human beings! Honorable mention on Emma Watson too! Just pure class “kids”…
This feels so natural. They just let the conversation flow and don't ask scripted questions. Really interesting.
TheWallcall helps that they’re friends
Sort off.
Lmao practically every question is a scripted question. That’s why in every single one of these videos, the same several questions are asked in almost the exact same way.
@@SnailHatan No they are not, at all. What are you smoking? Watch Shia and Kristen
You learn so much more about them. You leave feeling like you know them better on a personal level. This is a real interview. Celebrities are way better at it
look at these put together child actors. I'm proud of them for some reason. get them in a film together.
PinkSweetsXl3 haha yes but...... that would make a lot of people (me) jealous
PinkSweetsXl3 id pay for a movie collab with these two
They were in Charlie and the chocolate factory together
@@nicolemarietarroza you're confusing Dakota Fanning with AnnaSophia Robb
"I'm upset that Sean Murphy's not a real person that I can meet."
Honestly... Same...
*shaun
Yea,I love Shaun very much☺️
Oh yes, l would love to know Sean.
I know 🥰❤️ right?
Freddie's voice is calming and sophisticated.
He looks on point with that facial hair
My thoughts exactly 😍
I agree I like it very much.
What facial hair?
@@SnailHatan beard
Dakota Fanning is one of the most underrated actressess of this generation.
Xamalion Her sister is sooo good too
Agree. I feel like those of us who grew up alongside her appreciate her more. People shouldn't sleep on her - or Freddie Highmore. They're two of the most talented actors in their 20s out there now.
FOR SURE....I ADORE ELLE!
Which generation would that be? There are like 6 generations of people alive right now.
Good parenting prevents child actors from acting up. Kudos to their parents.
Yes! That's so very true.
Yes. And being there on set for your children can help prevents molestation of child actors/actresses.
@@lovelesssevensins6014 I'm not sure how parents are even leaving their children on set because legally any child under 18 is required to have a parent on set according to Sag/Aftra rules. SOmetimes what happens is that directors, producers and those that want to prey on children earn the trust of the parents over time on the set and then they invite the kids to a party at their house or something where there are other people there too, but they find a way to corner the child or teen off by themselves during the party. I don't think these Sag rules were in force in the 80's and 90's but were put in place to protect children after so many reports of bad behavior.
I've asked myself a million times what her parents are like. I would really like to talk to them for ten minutes before I have children of my own one day. Not to bring my kids into show business but just so I don't screw it up.
Good parenting prevents ALL children from acting up.
I'm 24 and I feel like 50 year old watching this. How fast time flies. They will always be 12 year old in my mind.
Reicuois Siobhan Grainne but they’re older than you..? Lol
Rachel Kaper not older than Dakota though (she's also 24) and Freddie's only two years older
*i.. on the other hand, see myself the same age as actors who are younger than me. haha like millie brown for example.*
I know what you mean. I watched Freddie grow up with my kids! So, I will always see him as a 12 year old too.
I love Dakota and Freddie, they are amazing actors!!!
ScarlettP hey again my friend 👋🙌
Dakota is overrated.
Valhalla no she isn't
I'm not saying there's nothing about her. But I've been disappointed by her performances in the past years over and over again. In Brimstone she played a mute woman, which means you need a more expressive face or the performance falls flat. She didn't show any of that. And currently I'm watching The Alienist and it's the same thing. Right in her first scenes she gets disrespected by men for working in a male profession as a woman and there is almost nothing happening in her face. She just doesn't show the complexity of emotions I'd wish to see. She chooses good roles, but she doesn't deliver and I'm tired of watching her. Compare that to a young Kate Winslet, or to Saoirse Ronan, she just can't hold a candle to them.
compare for example this camera test from a young Kate Winslet (she tells an entire story about herself with her face): ua-cam.com/video/Jk-OZiiZs3o/v-deo.html
to this performance by Dakota in Brimstone: ua-cam.com/video/LOwTwwb1f1c/v-deo.html while I think the beginning was quite good (the subtle flickering of the eyelids when she reckognizes the voice), the second part is really quite underwhelming. She just takes a seat and grabs the girl next to her in a protective manner. Without the camera-zoom this scene had zero effect. Just in case you haven't seen the film: the man who's speaking is her father who sexually assaulted her as a kid and caused her mother's suicide. So the fact that she's merely taking a seat with her eyes wide open, showing her face and everything, not even trying to look for a way out or look away so he won't reckognize her, is super unrealistic. Idk maybe it was bad directing also, but if you compare her to Kate I don't think she is that good...
He was magnificent in Bates Motel.
Yes!
I must say in every work he has done he is superb
Countfoscolikesmice he does the same autistic shtick in every role
Everything he does is great, for me he is THE MOST TALENTED actor
Yessssss
I just adore their friendship, platonic relationships are _waaay_ underrated. Individually, I love both of their work immensely, and have grown up with them ❤️
yes, they are
Dakota is one in a million. She was such a special child and she is so, so intelligent. I don't think she truly understands how special she is.
Yeah, I feel like she's become more "ordinary" with age (probably a good thing as it means she's living a relatively normal life) but part of me wishes she had kept that eerily cerebral, precocious presence she had as a child. She truly was special.
There's new contender now: Millie Bobby Brown 😂
@@fix24311 No... Dakota had oscar worthy acting before she was even 10 years old. I havn't seen anything that amazing from Millie.
Yeah but everyone is special
@@fix24311 lmfao no.
If only all child actors had people in their lives who kept them sane as these two wonderful souls had. Truly talented individuals.
Yes, so true!
Freddie Highmore is an actor I admire and respect so much. At his age so many of his actors peers had already had years of drama on their plate and continue to have a camera as a way to stay relevant but Freddie only uses his Talent and it has definitely gotten him far! He is a true actor and not just some celebrity!!!
Agreed! Love it when a child star resurfaces as an adult based on pure talent and not celebrity (still have my fingers crossed for Josh Hutcherson--he was always such a natural imo)
Freddie has a degree in Arabic and Spanish and studied European law... the dude is just gifted
Really interesting the questions they asked each other, and how both being child actors worked out for them.
Well-adjusted!!!
I agree. You see not all child actors are heading for disaster. All it takes is faith in God and yourself. Being grounded and having amazing parents.
scripted
This was a great pairing of actors!
During this interview, Freddie Highmore was 26 but he looked like 16!
This generation gives me hope.
Freddie is pretty much the only great male actor of my generation.
bruh and timothy chalamet
No - I think he's overrated - really good actor but the work that Freddie did in Bates Motel is on a different level to Call me by your name .
Thomas Thas so just because he's overrated he shouldn't be liked. Is that what you're implying here? Because quite frankly speaking if he is overrated it's for damn good reason. And Call Me By Your Name isn't the only movie he's starred in. He's done other stuff as well that show off his talent more than that movie.
I called him a really good actor ? how does that imply I don't like him? Call be by your name is most prominent and best work and Bates is Freddie's , so I compared the two . I don't understand the second sentence of your comment .
Two well-balanced, intelligent people, on equal ground, full of insight, sharing. This is absolutely beautiful! More TV shows and interviews should take this sincere and productive approach.
It feels like i'm watching a date 😂
💓 😆 💓
Were they dating at that time??
Either way, they are each wholesome persons. Their work is also so very good. Creasey Bear and August Rush.
@@meghanakankara2883 they dated for a year, before.
@@gabzd is he single now??
Norman suddenly speaking with a British accent is strange. XD Freddie's underrated... he was a great Norman
LuTHieN they couldn’t have cast a better Norman tbh he played that part to perfection 👌👌
LuTHieN I’ve heard about that series shall I watch it ?
@@zxra6xx821 yes you better watch it! You're missing out!
Hey IM Luthien
freddie sounds more sophisticated than any other British man😄
Mr. Cairo dude...... why so offended. Go take a nap
He just sounds a bit posh. Plenty of other British men who sound similar.
What that’s word means?
Freddie needs to be protected at all costs😭😭😭♥️
Please do this with Josh Hutcherson and AnnaSophia Robb
Jahnesha b I would do anything to see them together again. I swear, this pair changed my life.
I don't think it will happen. They on bad terms.
*cough* Bridge to Terabithia *cough*
Love Annasophia. Why haven't I seen her in anything anymore? Is she on Broadway?
I'd kill to see them get back together and do the show.
Freddie: i love how we are talking about these kids we are going to have...
Dakota: *in chorus* ...kids we're going to have..
Me: please marry each other and have kids.
Fitzwilliam Darcy Jr. lol then they both got so defensive after that. Lmao.
😆
Fitz Darcy Jr ARE YOU NUTS??? She’s only 23 yrs. old!!! She’s still too young to have kids!!!!
@@antoniocamacho2264 so, if she is ready to have children then she should be able to.
Nothing Seems to be as floral as you NOPE, I DON’T THINK SO. Her work is right now her priority. Forming a family will come later, when she would be ready for it.
When Coraline and Charlie are talking to each other and your childhood explodes
My childhood heroes 😊 Charlie in the Chocolate Factory and Cat in the Hat were my favorite movies as a child
Julie T ohhhh my gosh he WAS Charlie wasn’t he? 😱🤣 I just noticed, I first saw him on The Good Doctor and hadn’t seen Bates Motel yet
Cat in the Hat is still one of my favorite movies and I'm 24 now
Matthew Killips I still love it too! It was so trippy
I didn't even know he was the same person before watching Bates Motel, but I thought he was familiar. Once I realized I was like oh my god!!! My favorite childhood actor is back!
Finding Neverland and August Rush are such great movies that starred Freddie.
I love this format: two acting peers just chatting without some third party interviewer mucking things up.
Great discussion! Freddie is such a lovely human being and very smart that he felt going to university and getting a degree was important and acting was a "adult option." *applauds*
I think hes bilingual
David Ortega poly! He speaks English, French, and Spanish (and broken Arabic)
Even with the beard, he still looks like a young kid
Very mature for their age. 90s babies actors slay.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
"I like how we're talking about the kids that we will have."
I know he meant something else but... me... dead 😍😍😍
I'm 45 years old and I have Asperger's Syndrome, a higher-functioning form of Autism. Shows like, "The Good Doctor," are inspirational in opening the world of Autism to a mainstream viewing public. Bravo!
this is so cool. they are 'thee' male and female child actors who were on screen during my childhood 😱😍
freddie is starting to look like a young Matthew Goode
kmmk292929 yeahhhh...I thought the same thing, too 🤗
Agree
OMG yes!
she always seemed wise beyond her years when she was a kid actress so i was always fascinated by watching her... and he seemed the same as a young kid actor. when you just watch people and can tell they have IT well they certainly did and still do!
So happy to see these two grow up so mature despite of early acting careers. God bless Dakota and Freddie. Will keep supporting your craft
It may sound weird that they’re being allowed to direct already but they probably have more on set experience than most first time directors
Dakota was always my fav actress growing up. Happy to be the same age as her. Legit grew up watching her.
The GOOD DOCTOR is an amazing show!! I love it and I've fell in love with Freddie Highmore!!!
What an awesome sit down chat, both great actors.
These are actors who matured very well in the industry. They are here for the love and passion for the art of acting, not the fame, which I feel many people are acting for nowadays. I hope they have successful careers❤️
Freddie needs an Emmy ❤❤
I actually think that’s the key to having kid actors grow up to not be insane is having parents who are just normal and grounded and they encourage the kid to be normal and down-to-earth. These two are excellent examples of the benefit of grounded parents.
Freddie Highmore is one of my all time favorite young actors .... I remember watching his as a kid at the same time he was a kid and then seeing him take on these more dynamic roles and watching him always remain humble makes my heart happy ... the same with Dakota
The way they finish each other sentences and the way they completely understand each other it's like They look so perfect for each other 💞🥰
I absolutely love them both. They are not just amazing actors, but so intelligent and articulate young people. An absolute delight.
I love this relaxing conversation. Their friendship is really cute
The fact that we grew up with both of them in our childhood is really crazy, two people from my childhood in one place and all grown up
I feel like I haven't seen a Dakota interview in a decade.
Young Actors who say that acting was practically a hobby to them until they grew up and they went home and had a normal life always appear calm, settled and well rounded. You know they mean it because they'd let their kids do it. Ppl with opposite experiences always say something like, "No, I hope they never want to be actors, if they do, they have to wait until their 18." Love that Dakota's mom went with her everywhere and Dakota's like, I wouldn't just send my kid off to a set by themselves." That's good parenting. They're parents did well. Shoot, you need to be there. I also feel her on, but can I be selfless and give up my career lol. I feel like they transitioned into adult roles easily because even though their roles weren't "too grown" they were always in mature movies and often played mature characters. They didn't get stuck in like a Disney bubble or anything. They were just children who grew into talented adults.
Also, Didn't realize we were so close in age.
Two people I never really thought about shipping together, yet here I am
I didn't know Freddie was british, it was a wonderful surprise when I heard his accent.
Interesting fact, both of these actors have played characters with ASD. Freddie in 'The Good Doctor' and Dakota in 'Please Stand By'
Two intelligent actor. Love the both of them.
Freddie Highmore is perfection personified, uber talented yet so down to earth, love him so much!
his face is still like a baby with facial hair.....so cute....so humble and down to earth.probably he knows he is the boy so many girls dreamed of,he is a fine actor,he is damn cute....after all these he is so humble....perfect human being
Only after I see this video do I realise that they've never worked on screen together, have they? It's so crazy when you think about it!
This was like listening a really good lecture ...or an audiobook on two young interesting and wise actors
WOW. Freddie is very charming. I RESPECT him as an actor.
Watching the Fanning sisters being so down to earth and relatively normal, that itself is pretty self explanatory. Good job, parents!
she stole my heart in i am sam
Raisa Shams completely! And in Man on Fire..plus many more great roles lol. Sorry I started with one and others popped in my head
Don’t forget she was also in Hide and Seek with Robert Di Niro. She was so good.
She was amazing in I Am Sam.
Yeah shes very gifted. Her younger sister seems to be more in the spotlight these days, but Dakota is much more naturally gifted at acting than her sister.
Of course he has a British accent 😩😩🙌😍 love them both!
This entire conversation was about reassuring themselves that they "turned out ok."
LouisFGraham which is a amazing and weird if you ask me
the invisible me you just need good parents who are very careful who they trust. Eliza dushkus parents let some dirtbag dp alone with their kid during the filming of true lies. That’s just one of many examples of bad parenting in Hollywood
Not really. That was like 5 minutes of the conversation.
LouisFGraham because they did
Yeah I felt like it, I was like "ok next subject card PLEASE" let's talk about your last projects and learn a bit more about how you get into character, what do you hope on ur profession, favourite movie you were in, talk about the difference betwen directors on the actor results, idk hahahah
keep the facial hair Freddie
The Mavericks I wanna see him with a full beard now
I doubt he will keep it for much longer once they start filming season 2. The "clean shaven look" is Dr. Shaun Murphy's signature look. Although I might be wrong. But I agree, I like the facial hair.
Alissa Playah I’m sorry I didn’t know your name was Freddie as well Alissa
Julie T THERE IS A NEW PHOTO OF HIM WITH A DECENT BEARD AND OOF 😍😍😍
He looks a lot more mature with facial hair and doesn't have much of a baby face he looks good either way but with facial it's just like yes
Freddie is my crush
Sorry... He's taken. By me. "hahaha, classic comedy"
lol
BACK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! HES MINE AND ALWAYS WILL BE NOW JUST TURN AROUND AND FIND ANOTHER PERSON TO CRUSH ON
He's been my crush since August Rush movie!
Benjamin Biller LMAO 😂
Norman Bates with Jane Volturi... Now that’s a crazy mix!
I love Freddie Highmore. He's such a sweetheart. Great actor too.
What a perfect pairing! Would love to see them in a movie together.
Everyone being shocked Freddie is British: did you never see ‘finding neverland?’. Dear god.
Freddie looks great! With facial hair and i think it be great if dakota and freddie were to be in a movie together.
Dakota Fanning in "War of the worlds" is her most underrated performance. She is stellar for someone so young at the time. Well done. Bravo.
7:43 is what we are all waiting for.... 😂 😂 😂
I kept replaying her laugh lol it's priceless
omg this is the best, love both of them!
Put these two cuties together in a movie. I'll watch.
Two of my childhood heroes talking about two of my fav shows in the most soothing and charming conversation. I loved this so much 😩❤️
Dakota looks quite a bit like Kate Hudson here
Ali Gator She sounds like her too.
So so so much like her. I was looking for this comment 😂
They are so awesome... I loved this interview! I love hearing their point of view and how grounded they are because they are both amazing
Freddie's eye laugh lines are so endearing oh lordt so cute
This is such a great interview. I hope we see more of this. Stuff like this really makes me enjoy UA-cam.
Freddie has played so many iconic parts as American, I can't even with his real accent
It’s been so much fun to watch both of you grow.
I had no idea Freddie was British!! He's really beautiful!!
Who ever decided on them and made this happen is wonderful and amazing and I love you!!! Bro bang up job on that
I love Freddie he is such a gentlemen and Dakota is so mature these two never have any sorts of gossip or anything bad to be on news.
i'm already imagining Dakota Fanning and Freddie Highmore's Child lol
the baby would be beautiful
Thank you for this kind of material.
I feel like I was needing it.
I love them! That's a great paring. Great actors.
OMG.... two of the most amazing child actors all grown up!!!!
Shippo they both already
This is one of the conversation that so good that I didn't want it to end
It is always a well spent time to listen and view to any Dakota interview or conversation; she is so fresh, kind and simple, and even she is absolutely amazing as actress; thanks a lot...
You are each so refreshing. I have loved the work you’ve each done from childhood. And have thoroughly enjoyed this interview.
This interview made me like them even more. Such wonderful people and artists.
For anyone who cares, Dakota has a Pisces sun and Leo moon. And Freddie has an Aquarius sun and Cancer moon! Their sun signs are super compatible with each other’s moon signs. Such fun and understanding energy in their conversations!!
I hope they do work together in the future -- They're both exceptional in their own right, but selfishly it would be phenomenal to see them together in the same project.
Freddie was fantastic in Bates Motel. I can't believe he didn't get any Emmy recognition. I'm glad to see him continue to give a wonderful performance in The Good Doctor but the show as a whole didn't really captivate me
Zenevi Mawii Same. He does really well but I could do without the other story lines
You take that back 😂
