Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure 'sensei' came from the Chinese word for "Mister". They use the same kanji/characters and are pronounced similarly.
I am not sure about how sensei came from. But先生in Chinese means Mister.
E.g. Mr. X would be x先生.
And in 20 century Hong Kong, people also call teacher sensei, but not other positions, not doctor, lawyer etc.
Not going to lie for a split second then I thought it said "Japanese phrases for the bedroom"
they love "sensei ", i hate what im thinking
