Crowds of onlookers enjoy the precise movements of the marching bands. Goosebumps as the pipers and drummers march to the beat! The Scots Christmas Parade featured hundreds of musicians, dancers, performers, and thousands of spectators. And of course, Santa Claus makes an appearance at the Scots Christmas Parade. The end of the parade is the best part. The City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums, St. Andrew’s Society’s Washington Scottish Pipe Band and Kiltie Band of York will play a massed concert in front of the reviewing stand at Market Square (301 King Street). The weekend ended with the 24th annual Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights on the Potomac River.
