Couldn't be happier with my '21 Grizzly SE. Got it off recommendation from this channel and it's just an animal. Quality is second to none and while it may not go 80mph, I'd argue there's nothing more agile on the trails in this segment and above... Also pulled out my fair share of Sportsman's already 😉
Great overview of this line. Grizzly is probably my favourite ATV too. Think if I was gonna grab one I'd go with the EPS as well, ride it, enjoy it and just do my own mods over time considering it'll last for years ✌️👊💥

Watched most of your videos and I got Yamaha drilled in my head so I pulled the trigger and ordered the new 2023 GRIZZLY EPS... comming from a 2015 Outty Max 800r I'm affraid I'll miss the long frame, comfort and power, but you guys keeps saying and I quote 'best trail riding ATV'. I'm also mad at Can Am for getting rid of the 650. Thanks for all the work you put out there, totally a fan.
I also upgraded to a Grizzly from the Kodiak 450. I hate to see the price increase, but I would honestly pay it for another Grizzly if I needed one. The machine is just lightning in a bottle of all around perfection.
Since you have had the sportsman xp and grizzly; which one is more comfortable in your opinion? I really prefer a comfortable ride but I don't want to have to trade in my sportsman every 3 years because I'm worried about it turning into a money pit.
That's a legitimate concern.. The Grizzly is comfortable the Sportsmans are really comfortable, but you may have to go to the dealership to sit on them because they'll be in for warranty work a lot... Its much more convenient to have a Grizzly in your garage.. Saves gas too
Yeaughhhhh I was worried about y’all man ! When I was buying the grizzly i had a young lady at one dealership I called had told me the price increase was coming and I honestly expected worse . That’s $1,100 more msrp than my camo was . I got the Kingquad 750 for 10,799 with $500 dealer fees . It’s one of the most solid built feeling atvs I’ve bought . Glad to see a new video bud ! You already know I have an X3 SxS BUT I still love atvs and I wish badly people still bought them enough vs SxS’s for manufacturers to innovate ! Crap at least one full revision each 5 years !? You KNOW a 999cc grizzly 1000 or KQ 1000 or even Brute 1000 would sell like crazy. All we can do is keep supporting the sport we all love that’s involved in this . That’s why I have still kept atvs .

The prices are ridiculous! For what they are charging for these quads now you should be able to choose your color combo across all models trims, and they should offer a steel wheel or HD spun aluminum wheel with rolled beads. Cast aluminum wheels are just for the guys that like bling over functionality.
I completely agree. For the design and purpose of the Grizzly, 700cc is plenty of power. More power is really a waste since the vast majority would never use its potential and, in many cases, it works against you.
I bought a 2021 kodiak 450 special edition in August 2020 and had to pay full retail due to covid. Just a little over 10 grand with the warranty taxes etc. I know I know but it was that time of year. I bought it for my daughter. I bought this unit brand new off the show room floor. Not even 80 miles on it and it was overheating on on the trails. I had to tow her back 15 miles here and there. It would start up and run for a bit but once it would heat up it comes to a sputtering stop. The radiator fan turns on and does its job to cool it down then it will start after 12-18 minutes then we can get back on the trail but then again it does it again. Took it to the dealer they could not duplicate the problem so I brought it back home. Then I went on another ride to video tape it and it did it again. It will overheat after around 12 miles of trail riding. We just site see the easy trails I don't take my kids nor I really don't care for the crazy difficult getting stuck trails. If I go with the bro's then its a different story if its just us on the trails but don't take the family on the crazy runs or more difficult trails. I took it back to the dealer showed them a video of it what happened but I guess they needed to see me push the start button after it overheats so they can see that it don't crank back up. The drive to there dealer is around 40 minutes one way and its so annoying already. Lots of back and forth with with emails, talking with service or the manager etc.. They said they used the certified Yamaha computers to see if its overheating lol. I thinking maybe the thermostat is only opening up half way. Let me know if anyone is experiencing anything like this. Thanks good to know on the new machines. Thanks for posting.
@@DirtObseXXion I reached out to Yamaha and they said go to your dealer. Cookie cutter answer. I asked if there was anyone who can help me trouble shoot this issue and she just kept referring me back to send it in to the dealer. I mentioned my extended warranty and before I could finish my sentence she said dealer lol. I have a good relationship with the dealer to fix this issue and hopefully I will be able to use my extended warranty for this issue. Its been hard for me because I was in the hospital for 86 days due to covid and my oxygen drops at higher elevations. The closest spot for me to ride is 70 minutes from home. I live in Denver Colorado 13 minutes from Downtown I was a hillbilly now im a city sicker hahaha. I just need to get back out there ride it, video tape it and see what happens again with the dealer. I may be in the market for a side by side for next year so I can put my oxygen tanks in a designated spot. I will probably put a sticker on it labeled nitrous then when people see it hooked up to my nose they will definitely get out of my way hahaha! I currently ride a two up can am 650 and I had my oxygen tank in a back pack my wife sitting behind me said it makes her uncomfortable. She thinks its going to explode because she sees it bouncing around. Im getting off track here but maybe I will put out some videos on my machines and some of our camp and rides. I will definitely do a video on the outcome of the our kodiak 450. It may help others out if they happen to run into the same problem. Yamaha is a solid company and I hope we can fix the issue. I don't think it's anything big. Its just the back and forth to the dealer 40 minutes away x4 and not being able to just hop on the machine ride it and get it to over heat living in the city.
That would be interesting.. When I was going through a train the trainer course for using SXSs in technical rescue, they put us in a unit sideways on a steep hill and pulled the machine to the tipping point.. It was we could feel how our body weight impacted the balance but it was a little unnerving being sideways like that..
With considerable seat time on both, the Kodiak 450 EPS is just confidence inspiring as far as stability is concerned. It sacrifices some ground clearance, but the smaller package and low seat height make you feel more planted to the ground than the larger quads. Also feels like you could put a leg down or manage it easier if it hit the tipping point. We had bought a used 07 Grizzly 350 back in 2020 for a 3rd quad, and while it was a sluggish goat with its single range forward transmission (and a gas sucker pulling higher RPMs all the time), it just felt stuck to the ground. The newer Kodiak 450 is nearly the same size, has all those positives, plus everything else it has going for it. In hindsight, I kind of wish I'd got a 450 EPS when I got my Grizzly 700 instead. I didnt really need another larger quad, and could have saved a couple thousand and still have been happy in the end. If I just had one quad though, Grizzly 700 all day.
I was able to pick up the awesome 2022 black XTR this year. Coming from an LTZ400 I wasn't sure how I was going to like the monster, but knew I needed something better equipped for the mud and, let's be honest my ass isn't getting any younger, so more comfortable. I like to "spirited" trail ride, so I was really hoping that I would be able to ride the way I like on this bigger machine. Let me just say, this Grizzly is awesome! It's much more comfortable, still able to trail ride as hard as I like and is like riding a damn Cadillac. The automatic belt driven trans was also a concern for me, but I haven't had any issues what so ever. I still have my DRZ and Africa Twin if I'm itching to run through gears, but the Grizzly opens up trails and more riding opportunities that just aren't suited to two wheels or a low ground clearance sport quad. If you are on the fence, get one, you won't regret it. Go ahead and order the 2R Racing exhaust tip as well..... Makes it sound like it "should".... MEAN!

@@DirtObseXXion My AT is a 2016. Love that thing as well. I like having both a smaller dual sport for the gnarlier stuff, but the AT is a blast on Forest Roads and two track and is comfortable to ride for days and days. Longest trip I've done so far is 2,500 miles in 12 days from our Driveway in Denver up through Idaho and back. What an awesome trip. Lots of videos on my channel, including that trip if you're interested.

I did a 1600 mile solo strip in WV over the 4th weekend, but I'll run out for 400+ miles in search of dirt and gravel routes whenever I get the chance.. The AT is perfect for that! there is the odd one trickling in. I'm wanting to get a tac green Kodiak 450 EPS but the dealer keeps telling me it doesn't have diff-lock only the camo EPS does. So I'm waiting for him to get it in so he finds out he's wrong
Suppose to pick up my new grizzly xtr this week. Based on the price alone, I'm second guessing of I should just go with the kodiak. If you had to pick one, which would it be? Is the grizzly to overpowered for low end slow work? Is the kodiak not snappy enough to enjoy a somewhat spirited trail ride?
I'd pick the Grizzly because of the slightly larger dimensions (stability) and clutching more conducive to trail riding.. Im sure the Kodiak isn't bad, but it's marketed more towards work and hunting with the Grizzly having more of a trail bias.. Both would be capable of working
In no way is the 700 Kodiak engine a "detuned" version of the 700 grizzly . They are the same engine , cvt, and sub transmission . The only difference is the kodiak uses heavier (and lazier) 30 gram weights in the cvt's primary sheave vs the much sportier feeling 18 gram weights in the grizzly's primary sheave. Thankfully any 700 Kodiak can have the sportier grizzly weights installed thus having all the performance of a grizzly for about 80$
@@DirtObseXXion there's zero difference in the engines, no difference in ecu tune either. As mentioned, the weights are the only difference. There's no difference in exhaust more as you seem to think. That would only be a difference from bike to bike based on wear and tear, aka hrs ridden. The differences only come at the width and suspension, seat and bars. And wheels.
@@DirtObseXXion I kind of wished they would've made the Raptor 700 base model all cyan blue like they did the grizzly base model.. Its still sharp tho.. Im not complaining at all. I'm glad Yamaha is keeping us Sport Riders going in the Sport ATV World... it's AWESOME!!!!
We don't get much snow in KY so I'm not sure about that.. as far as a rear winch, anything is possible, you just might have to fabricate a mounting braket. There is a company called Tiger Tail that does rear retractable tow straps, but it isn;t a winch.
@@DirtObseXXion I usually get stuck in the snow, and the only tree is behind me, as murphy's law would have, and with a plow in the front, it is a pain... But a rear winch, would clear that up quick... TY.
The price hikes suck with no real added value. I'm glad I made my purchases when I did, any of these models are hard to find. Production numbers seem to be very limited. I snagged a 21 450 Kodiak eps last spring and this year I purchased a 22 King Quad 750 eps, found a 22 Kodiak 700 eps at the local dealer and last a Cforce 600 so I'm good to go for a long time. I kept checking dealer inventory every day and as soon as they showed up I got on the phone otherwise they're gone. The CF Moto machines are easier to get and seem well built but time will tell, price point for what you get is way better if they hold up.
The video mentioned that the Kodiak 700 engine is de-tuned in comparison to the Grizzly 700. Is it possible to tune up the Kodiak 700 to similar performance with the Grizz?
I'm sure you could. I believe it's just tuning in the ECU, so a re-flash and exhaust would probably do the trick. If I were going to do that, I'd probably call EHS racing and ake them about it.. They do a lot of performance mods for the Grizzly so they know the machines pretty well...
I've heard some people are kind of upset about the little new bumper on the new Renegade but me and a lot of others love the headlights. The new sportsman 1000 xp only comes in the ultimate trail but starts at $15,599! Which seems a bit ridiculous
I grew up with manual shifting utility ATVs. I was never very fond of the automatics, however, I also spent very little time on them. You have a lot more seat time on these machines. Thoughts on automatic vs manual shifting utilities? Love the channel
I like manual shift as well.. But outside of Yamaha's pure sport machines there's not much left on the market.. Honda has some on the Recon and Rancher and that's about it.. Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) have some advantages but they aren't all created equal. The advantages are that they stay in ideal power ranges pretty well and they make riding very easy.. They also enable additional ground clearance with more rear suspension.. The manual options have solid rear axles.. Disadvantage is that with some of them, based on use and abuse, they can be higher maintenance in terms of belt changes.. I like them on utility ATVs though because they are fun and easy.. Yamaha's is pretty worry free and even have that 10yr belt warranty.. Suzuki is great too.. The bigger Polaris and CanAm ATVs tend to be tuff to shift sometimes. They stick and don't want to go into gear.. The more powerful machines also tend to go through belts more quickly if you're hard on them.. For the most part belts are strong and they pull well.. Im not a fan of Hondas DCT and the push button shifting but some guys like them. All things considered the Automatics really aren't bad, they're still pretty fun, they make riding easy and the good ones are pretty reliable.. I ride my Raptor 700 more than anything else so I definitely prefer the old school..
On a Grizzly? I'd recommend checking out EHSRacing.com.. They have a few intake options and they sell Barkers Exhaust.. They also have a Dobek style programmer that's relatively inexpensive at $240.. I'm not sure how many options there are for a Grizzly but that would be my first stop.. Next option would probably be HMF, although I'm not a huge fan..
An ehs tuner, a whiskey bent exhaust tip, go greaseless on the OEM weights and lose the grease cover, either 1.5mm of soon or a machined sheave from Arnie Cooper. And you can go with a stronger secondary spring
i find people underestimate the power in the grizzly with just a few quick upgrades like a hmf pipe and tunner and clutch kit and its like night and day in power
I do like the black and tan but these prices are crazy. I do want one though but trusty 08 big bear just going strong. Makes it hard to pull the trigger on it.
What’s your opinion of the KingQuad? I almost bought a grizzly a couple weeks ago but held off as I’m looking into both a little more, both have great features. Honestly I liked the yellow and gray ‘22 grizzly. My biggest complaint is all these rising prices 😭
The King Quad is great too, right up there with a Grizzly.. That's my next purchase because we just git a Grizzly and really want to do a head to head comparison
A $1000 more over last year's Grizzly with no real changes and a color scheme I like less than last year's. And what you said about demand being high so MSRP is what you will likely have to pay is true. Even worse, there is a stealership in Vancouver Canada that is charging $1300 more than the 2023 MSRP for a 2022 Grizzly. Plus they are adding $1400 in fees on top of that.
Dealership's (automotive and powersports) get the delivery waived when they sell so many. So a small mom and pop dealer can't waive delivery, but the big shops, demand that the delivery be waived. The manufacturer has already waived it but they still charge it. Might be tough these days, but when things settle, just know they are passing a free they don't actually pay.
Well that’s almost every manufacturer releasing the 2023 models now. So when will Suzuki release there’s? I’m sure they’ll just have color changes too though, if they even do that.
@@DirtObseXXion If I were to pick a Japanese brand I’d actually have a hard time choosing between the KingQuad, Brute Force and Grizzly. I’ve always been a fan of the v-twins in the Kawasaki’s, but they are in bad need of a chassis update. I know you have had problems out of your Sportsman, but I’ve never had any problems from the 08 800 that I had or the 2017 850SP that I have now. I’m also building a Predator to xc race with. It’d be very hard for me to pick anything over a Polaris right now honestly.
I like riding the newer Yamahas at the shop but for the same amount as the top dog Grizzly , I've got a fleet of used 3 and 4 wheelers. We had a black and tan 700 Grizzly come in that was rolled after it was beat up and abused, what a freaking shame!
That's true, used stuff definitely saves money because ATVs don't hold too much value.. There's a few exceptions though, LTR450s and Banshees are pretty darn steep on the used market..
i checked em out earlier on their site i do like the colors alot more than last years colors especially the colors of the se grizzly the price hikes are shit but like everything else everything has gone up
Swooped a 2022 450 SE Overall its legit for a small machine BUT The internal rear brakes suck You must put it in park when on hills, no parking brake.. Seams to run lean Floor boards seam flimsy
It’s almost like they are trying to get out of the atv business . These prices cannot be sustained . I think the colors are horrible for the most part. I’m starting to see quite a few cfmoto’s on the trails . 100% sure it’s because of the price

FYI, "cyan" is pronounced like SIGH-ANN with an "S" sound and not "cayenne" like the red pepper, and cyan is indeed a shade of blue. Great video though!

great video and i hate to be negative, but i wish manufacturers would just care even a little bit about atvs again. until then, i guess its 2019 grizzly . 2019 kingquad, a 12' brute or a 2003 honda for sale again this year.colours and graphics don't make a guy exactly run to the dealership to 'upgrade'. these companies are huge and certainly capable, they just plain do not care anymore unless its a 43,000 cad plastic pick up truck. frustraighting.
What i don't understand is WHY do they not have some REGULAR color options? Like the 2020 Green Grizzly 700? EVERY other manufacturer just about has this. They have all these weird funky colors for 3 straight years that I don't want. If you aren't going to give us a bigger Grizzly, at least have enough color options or choices that will appease the masses. SMH ugh!

I would never buy an automatic four-wheeler. Four wheelers are supposed to be fun and automatic vehicles are not designed for fun. The CVT is a deal breaker. The only way I would buy a Yamaha four wheeler is if they bring back the manual transmission. Either manual foot shift or manual dct thumb shift like honda . But I do not like that rubber band automatic transmission
I would of loved to have a 22 xtr grizzly but after waiting 8 months I gave up and bought a honda. Could of got a yellow and Grey, the only grizzly I've seen in my area this year but it's hideous looking. Whoever is in charge of colors should be fired imo.
You can change the color of the grizzly easy, you can't get a good ride and decent power out of a Honda. Honda is to stuck on the old reliable past, worse than Yamaha is. Atleast Yammie offers a bit of power

It's a nice four wheeler and I'm pretty sure it's probably very powerful to be a 700. But that piece of shit CVT is a deal breaker for me. I would rather have a Honda Rubicon even though it's slower because it has a manual transmission. You actually can get a foot shifter or a manual dual clutch transmission. But it's still a real transmission it's not a fucking rubber band. I just don't like that automatic bullshit

I bought a 2021 kodiak 450 special edition in August 2020 and had to pay full retail due to covid. Just a little over 10 grand with the warranty taxes etc. I know I know but it was that time of year. I bought it for my daughter. I bought this unit brand new off the show room floor. Not even 80 miles on it and it was overheating on on the trails. I had to tow her back 15 miles here and there. It would start up and run for a bit but once it would heat up it comes to a sputtering stop. The radiator fan turns on and does its job to cool it down then it will start after 12-18 minutes then we can get back on the trail but then again it does it again. Took it to the dealer they could not duplicate the problem so I brought it back home. Then I went on another ride to video tape it and it did it again. It will overheat after around 12 miles of trail riding. We just site see the easy trails I don't take my kids nor I really don't care for the crazy difficult getting stuck trails. If I go with the bro's then its a different story if its just us on the trails but don't take the family on the crazy runs or more difficult trails.
I took it back to the dealer showed them a video of it what happened but I guess they needed to see me push the start button after it overheats so they can see that it don't crank back up. The drive to there dealer is around 40 minutes one way and its so annoying already. Lots of back and forth with with emails, talking with service or the manager etc.. They said they used the certified Yamaha computers to see if its overheating lol. I thinking maybe the thermostat is only opening up half way. @@DirtObseXXion I reached out to Yamaha and they said go to your dealer. Cookie cutter answer. I asked if there was anyone who can help me trouble shoot this issue and she just kept referring me back to send it in to the dealer. I mentioned my extended warranty and before I could finish my sentence she said dealer lol. I have a good relationship with the dealer to fix this issue and hopefully I will be able to use my extended warranty for this issue. Its been hard for me because I was in the hospital for 86 days due to covid and my oxygen drops at higher elevations. The closest spot for me to ride is 70 minutes from home. I live in Denver Colorado 13 minutes from Downtown I was a hillbilly now im a city sicker hahaha. I just need to get back out there ride it, video tape it and see what happens again with the dealer. I may be in the market for a side by side for next year so I can put my oxygen tanks in a designated spot. I will probably put a sticker on it labeled nitrous then when people see it hooked up to my nose they will definitely get out of my way hahaha! I currently ride a two up can am 650 and I had my oxygen tank in a back pack my wife sitting behind me said it makes her uncomfortable. She thinks its going to explode because she sees it bouncing around. Im getting off track here but maybe I will put out some videos on my machines and some of our camp and rides. I will definitely do a video on the outcome of the our kodiak 450. It may help others out if they happen to run into the same problem. Yamaha is a solid company and I hope we can fix the issue. I don't think it's anything big. Its just the back and forth to the dealer 40 minutes away x4 and not being able to just hop on the machine ride it and get it to over heat living in the city.
Would love to see a side hill stability test of the grizz vs kodiak . Or really sidehill stability of any models
That would be interesting.. When I was going through a train the trainer course for using SXSs in technical rescue, they put us in a unit sideways on a steep hill and pulled the machine to the tipping point.. It was we could feel how our body weight impacted the balance but it was a little unnerving being sideways like that..

With considerable seat time on both, the Kodiak 450 EPS is just confidence inspiring as far as stability is concerned. It sacrifices some ground clearance, but the smaller package and low seat height make you feel more planted to the ground than the larger quads. Also feels like you could put a leg down or manage it easier if it hit the tipping point. We had bought a used 07 Grizzly 350 back in 2020 for a 3rd quad, and while it was a sluggish goat with its single range forward transmission (and a gas sucker pulling higher RPMs all the time), it just felt stuck to the ground. The newer Kodiak 450 is nearly the same size, has all those positives, plus everything else it has going for it. In hindsight, I kind of wish I'd got a 450 EPS when I got my Grizzly 700 instead. I didnt really need another larger quad, and could have saved a couple thousand and still have been happy in the end. If I just had one quad though, Grizzly 700 all day.
I was able to pick up the awesome 2022 black XTR this year. Coming from an LTZ400 I wasn't sure how I was going to like the monster, but knew I needed something better equipped for the mud and, let's be honest my ass isn't getting any younger, so more comfortable. I like to "spirited" trail ride, so I was really hoping that I would be able to ride the way I like on this bigger machine. Let me just say, this Grizzly is awesome! It's much more comfortable, still able to trail ride as hard as I like and is like riding a damn Cadillac. The automatic belt driven trans was also a concern for me, but I haven't had any issues what so ever. I still have my DRZ and Africa Twin if I'm itching to run through gears, but the Grizzly opens up trails and more riding opportunities that just aren't suited to two wheels or a low ground clearance sport quad. If you are on the fence, get one, you won't regret it. Go ahead and order the 2R Racing exhaust tip as well..... Makes it sound like it "should".... MEAN!

@@DirtObseXXion My AT is a 2016. Love that thing as well. I like having both a smaller dual sport for the gnarlier stuff, but the AT is a blast on Forest Roads and two track and is comfortable to ride for days and days. Longest trip I've done so far is 2,500 miles in 12 days from our Driveway in Denver up through Idaho and back. What an awesome trip. Lots of videos on my channel, including that trip if you're interested.

I did a 1600 mile solo strip in WV over the 4th weekend, but I'll run out for 400+ miles in search of dirt and gravel routes whenever I get the chance.. The AT is perfect for that! I'm thinking about starting another channel for ADV rides in order to keep Dirt ObseXXion specific to ATVs.. But I do like filming the bike stuff too..

there is the odd one trickling in. I'm wanting to get a tac green Kodiak 450 EPS but the dealer keeps telling me it doesn't have diff-lock only the camo EPS does. So I'm waiting for him to get it in so he finds out he's wrong

Suppose to pick up my new grizzly xtr this week. Based on the price alone, I'm second guessing of I should just go with the kodiak. If you had to pick one, which would it be? Is the grizzly to overpowered for low end slow work? Is the kodiak not snappy enough to enjoy a somewhat spirited trail ride?
I'd pick the Grizzly because of the slightly larger dimensions (stability) and clutching more conducive to trail riding.. Im sure the Kodiak isn't bad, but it's marketed more towards work and hunting with the Grizzly having more of a trail bias.. Both would be capable of working
In no way is the 700 Kodiak engine a "detuned" version of the 700 grizzly . They are the same engine , cvt, and sub transmission . The only difference is the kodiak uses heavier (and lazier) 30 gram weights in the cvt's primary sheave vs the much sportier feeling 18 gram weights in the grizzly's primary sheave.
Thankfully any 700 Kodiak can have the sportier grizzly weights installed thus having all the performance of a grizzly for about 80$
I'm pretty sure there's a difference in the ECU and exhaust as well.. There's clearly a sound difference. I pretty sure Yamaha was the source on that

Ride is way better on the grizzly, definitely a better tuned suspension.
@@DirtObseXXion there's zero difference in the engines, no difference in ecu tune either. As mentioned, the weights are the only difference. There's no difference in exhaust more as you seem to think. That would only be a difference from bike to bike based on wear and tear, aka hrs ridden. The differences only come at the width and suspension, seat and bars. And wheels.

Which snow plow would you put on it? Is it possible to have a rear winch also installed?
We don't get much snow in KY so I'm not sure about that.. as far as a rear winch, anything is possible, you just might have to fabricate a mounting braket. There is a company called Tiger Tail that does rear retractable tow straps, but it isn;t a winch.
@@DirtObseXXion I usually get stuck in the snow, and the only tree is behind me, as murphy's law would have, and with a plow in the front, it is a pain... But a rear winch, would clear that up quick... TY.
The price hikes suck with no real added value. I'm glad I made my purchases when I did, any of these models are hard to find. Production numbers seem to be very limited. I snagged a 21 450 Kodiak eps last spring and this year I purchased a 22 King Quad 750 eps, found a 22 Kodiak 700 eps at the local dealer and last a Cforce 600 so I'm good to go for a long time. I kept checking dealer inventory every day and as soon as they showed up I got on the phone otherwise they're gone. The CF Moto machines are easier to get and seem well built but time will tell, price point for what you get is way better if they hold up.
The motos will continue to look better as these prices continue to rise.. Sounds like you have a nice fleet!
The video mentioned that the Kodiak 700 engine is de-tuned in comparison to the Grizzly 700. Is it possible to tune up the Kodiak 700 to similar performance with the Grizz?
I'm sure you could. I believe it's just tuning in the ECU, so a re-flash and exhaust would probably do the trick. If I were going to do that, I'd probably call EHS racing and ake them about it.. They do a lot of performance mods for the Grizzly so they know the machines pretty well...
I've heard some people are kind of upset about the little new bumper on the new Renegade but me and a lot of others love the headlights. The new sportsman 1000 xp only comes in the ultimate trail but starts at $15,599! Which seems a bit ridiculous
That's ridiculous! Those factory bumpers on the ultimate trail are called brush guards for a reason.. Brush is the only impact they can stand up too..

I grew up with manual shifting utility ATVs. I was never very fond of the automatics, however, I also spent very little time on them. You have a lot more seat time on these machines. Thoughts on automatic vs manual shifting utilities? Love the channel
I like manual shift as well.. But outside of Yamaha's pure sport machines there's not much left on the market.. Honda has some on the Recon and Rancher and that's about it.. Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) have some advantages but they aren't all created equal. The advantages are that they stay in ideal power ranges pretty well and they make riding very easy.. They also enable additional ground clearance with more rear suspension.. The manual options have solid rear axles.. Disadvantage is that with some of them, based on use and abuse, they can be higher maintenance in terms of belt changes.. I like them on utility ATVs though because they are fun and easy.. Yamaha's is pretty worry free and even have that 10yr belt warranty.. Suzuki is great too.. The bigger Polaris and CanAm ATVs tend to be tuff to shift sometimes. They stick and don't want to go into gear.. The more powerful machines also tend to go through belts more quickly if you're hard on them..
For the most part belts are strong and they pull well.. Im not a fan of Hondas DCT and the push button shifting but some guys like them.
All things considered the Automatics really aren't bad, they're still pretty fun, they make riding easy and the good ones are pretty reliable.. I ride my Raptor 700 more than anything else so I definitely prefer the old school..

On a Grizzly? I'd recommend checking out EHSRacing.com.. They have a few intake options and they sell Barkers Exhaust.. They also have a Dobek style programmer that's relatively inexpensive at $240.. I'm not sure how many options there are for a Grizzly but that would be my first stop.. Next option would probably be HMF, although I'm not a huge fan..
An ehs tuner, a whiskey bent exhaust tip, go greaseless on the OEM weights and lose the grease cover, either 1.5mm of soon or a machined sheave from Arnie Cooper. And you can go with a stronger secondary spring

I do like the black and tan but these prices are crazy. I do want one though but trusty 08 big bear just going strong. Makes it hard to pull the trigger on it.

What’s your opinion of the KingQuad? I almost bought a grizzly a couple weeks ago but held off as I’m looking into both a little more, both have great features. Honestly I liked the yellow and gray ‘22 grizzly. My biggest complaint is all these rising prices 😭
The King Quad is great too, right up there with a Grizzly.. That's my next purchase because we just git a Grizzly and really want to do a head to head comparison

A $1000 more over last year's Grizzly with no real changes and a color scheme I like less than last year's.
And what you said about demand being high so MSRP is what you will likely have to pay is true. Even worse, there is a stealership in Vancouver Canada that is charging $1300 more than the 2023 MSRP for a 2022 Grizzly. Plus they are adding $1400 in fees on top of that.
Dealership's (automotive and powersports) get the delivery waived when they sell so many. So a small mom and pop dealer can't waive delivery, but the big shops, demand that the delivery be waived. The manufacturer has already waived it but they still charge it.
Might be tough these days, but when things settle, just know they are passing a free they don't actually pay.

@@DirtObseXXion If I were to pick a Japanese brand I’d actually have a hard time choosing between the KingQuad, Brute Force and Grizzly. I’ve always been a fan of the v-twins in the Kawasaki’s, but they are in bad need of a chassis update. I know you have had problems out of your Sportsman, but I’ve never had any problems from the 08 800 that I had or the 2017 850SP that I have now. I’m also building a Predator to xc race with. It’d be very hard for me to pick anything over a Polaris right now honestly.
I like riding the newer Yamahas at the shop but for the same amount as the top dog Grizzly , I've got a fleet of used 3 and 4 wheelers. We had a black and tan 700 Grizzly come in that was rolled after it was beat up and abused, what a freaking shame!
That's true, used stuff definitely saves money because ATVs don't hold too much value.. There's a few exceptions though, LTR450s and Banshees are pretty darn steep on the used market..

It’s almost like they are trying to get out of the atv business . These prices cannot be sustained . I think the colors are horrible for the most part. I’m starting to see quite a few cfmoto’s on the trails . 100% sure it’s because of the price

Honda has got the best hunting four wheelers. Because they actually have a real transmission that's actually a manual transmission
Well, it's a clutchless DCT on the premium models.. Not quite the same thing, but the smaller displacement stuff still has a true manual..

great video and i hate to be negative, but i wish manufacturers would just care even a little bit about atvs again. until then, i guess its 2019 grizzly . 2019 kingquad, a 12' brute or a 2003 honda for sale again this year.colours and graphics don't make a guy exactly run to the dealership to 'upgrade'. these companies are huge and certainly capable, they just plain do not care anymore unless its a 43,000 cad plastic pick up truck. frustraighting.
A lot of us share your frustration! Nothing wrong with a long standing machine in the lineup but more variety would definitely be nice!

What i don't understand is WHY do they not have some REGULAR color options? Like the 2020 Green Grizzly 700? EVERY other manufacturer just about has this. They have all these weird funky colors for 3 straight years that I don't want. If you aren't going to give us a bigger Grizzly, at least have enough color options or choices that will appease the masses. SMH ugh!

Kingquad/Sportsman/Rubicon/Brute, etc every year they have more normal color options for the masses. It’s almost as if a kid is just throwing these color choices together for fun or something lol.

I would never buy an automatic four-wheeler. Four wheelers are supposed to be fun and automatic vehicles are not designed for fun.
The CVT is a deal breaker. The only way I would buy a Yamaha four wheeler is if they bring back the manual transmission. Either manual foot shift or manual dct thumb shift like honda . But I do not like that rubber band automatic transmission
I would of loved to have a 22 xtr grizzly but after waiting 8 months I gave up and bought a honda. Could of got a yellow and Grey, the only grizzly I've seen in my area this year but it's hideous looking. Whoever is in charge of colors should be fired imo.
That sucks.. We just got an XTR.. Without giving too much away, I'd prefer the base..
You can change the color of the grizzly easy, you can't get a good ride and decent power out of a Honda. Honda is to stuck on the old reliable past, worse than Yamaha is. Atleast Yammie offers a bit of power

It's a nice four wheeler and I'm pretty sure it's probably very powerful to be a 700. But that piece of shit CVT is a deal breaker for me. I would rather have a Honda Rubicon even though it's slower because it has a manual transmission. You actually can get a foot shifter or a manual dual clutch transmission. But it's still a real transmission it's not a fucking rubber band. I just don't like that automatic bullshit
