What other modifications were done to engine ? Was it stock internals prior to install ?

I'm in Canada I have to buy the cam and the springs and the parts then they charge me $2,500 to put the cam in and then another thousand for tuning wish I was out there I got an 05 envoy Denali 5.3 I want to put the stage 4 cam in there I think I need a 3000 stall torque converter do I have to change injectors or anything like that to run this cam

You should have a 3 bolt cam
Those number would be higher on the TBSS if an aftermarket torque converter was installed.
Torque converters dont add horsepower sure do let you launch hard as hell tho
420 is good hp for a N/A Tbss lol, I wish my awd N/A Tbss was more than 260awhp :(
You end up loosing top end hp w a high stall converter but its worth it if you dig race

But I've been watching videos after video be cause I forgot the process when it comes to changing the springs out..i cam swaped my 63 like 20 years ago it had the 283 in it..it was so much fun..but I cant temember what I need to do day after I bring cylinder 1 Tec change the springs and seals...then what??? Lol its pissin me off ...my 01 silverado has the 4.8l.headers cold air intake ..

So Dinoco, i see you do most of all your cam swaps on higher mileage vehicles with No oil pump replacement, t.chain, lifters or trunion upgrades. Never seen you check for proper pushrod lengths either. Seems like youre leaving a lot on the table for a future mishap to me?? But i guess if your customers are cool with it, thats awesome!!

Hey man when changing out cams you dont have to change out the lifters that ride on the cam? Dont you also need a valve job for the stage 4 cam?
No you do t need to change lifters and no you don’t need a valve job
Only time you need to change the lifters is on the gen 4’s that have dod.

Hey man, i’ve never cammed anything before, let alone taken apart an engine this much (i know i got a lot to learn, gotta start off somewhere tho). I might be getting a tbss sometime soon, for a first timer how difficult is this?
It would be better if you do your first cam swap on a Silverado they are much easier to take apart, it’s much harder on the TBSS since it’s a lot more compact in the engine bay and you have to remove the a/c condenser and a/c lines which on the Silverado you don’t have too, but it’s still the same process for the cam swap

Beefed up pushrods & Dual spring kit for the heads and 3800 stall and and good tune and upgraded rockers as well
i have a 07’ just got the motor bulit but it’s a 6.0 iron block with square heads and all the other things as well that i said

So you are doing cam swaps on older trucks with higher mileage and not changing out oil pumps, timing chains, lifters, lifter trays, rocker trunions, push rods, gears, or taking p.rod measurements?? Not sure how you do that with piece of mind? Know wonder you do 2 a day, geeze... Props to you buddy.

Do you have to upgrade the driveshaft on a vehicle before putting it on the dyno ?
Its recommended especially if your lowered or you could run it in 2nd but your numbers will be lower
@@texasstreettunes1310 I have a 2011 Sierra full bolt on with a stage 5 custom grind cam and a 3800 stall I was wanting to dyno it but they said I need cal tracs and an upgraded shaft first
@@jesseboy9791 yeah alot of them wont do it because of the chance of it busting but you could always get a street tune you can make really good power without the need of a 1:1 ratio dyno pull in your case 4th gear or 2nd gear if you dont mind a lower reading.
@@jesseboy9791 if you do upgrade your shaft to hit the dyno with a converter tell them to lock it up so you can get a accurate reading the converter unlocked during the pull usually reads lower numbers

Gev 4 come with 1 bolt cam gear, gen 3 come with a 3 bolt cam gear
