Hey, any questions you fantastic lovely people would like to ask feel free to ask them as comments to this, or tweet us, or email me at cory.lott.sucks@gmail.com I’d love make a Q&A video
Secretly /selfishly I like that not a lot of people know about you because it feels so personal and humble when you play but you have such raw wonderful talent that it needs to be shown and celebrated! Cheers man.
For anyone wondering, the tuning is (I believe) G#, C, F, A#, D#, G once the capo is factored in. Which I think translates to F, A, D, G, C, E without the capo, but I have a weird guitar setup so I might be wrong on that.
Thanks for being real and making me laugh even when some shit you say is sad. I found one song and now I'm hooked. Thanks for being a friend from far away that I've never met.
Lucas Simão We’ve got studio recordings on the way. The second they’re available i’ll upload them all here with links on everywhere else they can be found including (hopefully) Spotify
If this is what your band is putting out. I can't wait to hear the rest of what you guys put out. Listening to your original music makes me want to start writing again. I can't get over how original your sound is. Thanks for the amazing content.
This is just beautiful, man. I was looking to see who this Nulberry band are, thinking it was a cover of some famous band I'd never heard of. Nope...all you. Amazing
This song seems like a deep look at physical, mental, and social health. It really gets me in my head, all the time I spent growing up without giving a shit about my body, my mind or the people around me. I can proudly say I lost 10 lbs over the last 2 weeks, 70 more to go
I'm a med student. Since i started college, i stopped practicing guitar (been playing for 5~6 years). You inspired me to start playing it again since your "Vegan Chicken" song hahahah You are awesome! Keep doing your stuff.
I'm so happy UA-cam put u on my recommendation but i need to finish this essay and your music literally takes me away, now if you'll excuse me ill be procrastinating while listening to ur music now
I'm trying to learn how to play the way you play these songs. Inspirational af bro. Pushing myself harder because of your talent and dedication. Nulberry! Your music is beautiful!
Your guitar work is so awe-inspiring! Can't wait to pick up my guitar again (it will take a good time until I'm able to send it to repair), your stuff really inspires me to play again
@@CoryLottSucks cant wait dude, right now i was listening to the truth is, amazing stuff, you give me a lot of inspiration, i started to change tunings and experimenting more with my guitar, thank you !!
Yes make a Q&A Basic question: Where are you from? Less basic: What would your first album name be titled / what would your artist name be / whats the meaning behind it?
Do you plan to do any more songs playing electric guitar? I was super impressed by your Dramamine cover, and I absolutely loved the tone you had going there. Even when the song itself is sad, it always puts a smile on my face to see that you've posted more. How far do you plan to go for tours? What happened with your old youtube channel, it's still there with the same name, and you have a bunch of videos there from years ago. (I assume you just lost the password or something) Top 5 most influential math rock records, in your opinion? Did you take lessons or are you a self taught musician? What are the biggest challenges you face in your creative process? and most importantly, when will you have merch I can throw money at you to purchase? Keep making your art, and know that it has touched me very greatly.
Absolutely going to answer all of these in my next video. Also feel free to friend me on Facebook or shoot me an email if you’re not into that. my email is cory.lott.sucks@gmail.com
You're such a dope song writer! Such unique chords and progressions. It takes me forever to complete a whole song, I have the hardest time completing them. Any advice in song writing or coming up with unique chord structures/progressions?
Thanks so much! It still baffles me to see this many people actually watching me play my original songs. You rule and your kind words are deeply appreciated
Christian Wyrwas We do, we’re still tweaking the final mix with the studio engineer. But as soon as we have stuff available we’ll put it everywhere possible
Kaitlynn Aviles Okay, strap in because this is gonna be a long one. I have always been an indie rocker at heart, but I loved bands like the Strokes and Modest Mouse who had cool guitar riffs playing over their rhythm guitar parts. The thing is, I didn’t have any friends who were into the same type of music as me to write with. So, out of sheer necessity, I began writing lead riffs into the chords I was playing. That way I could kind of do the jobs of both the rhythm and lead guitar player in my music. One day a friend of mine described my songs as ‘mathy’ and I said “wtf does that mean?!” So naturally he showed me some math rock bands. TTNG, Clever Girl, Giraffes? Giraffes! etc. Enchanted by the guitars, I started trying to incorporate more math rock style into my own indie style to kind of tighten up and put a little more focus on the melodic stylings of my playing while still keeping the harmonic bit in tact. I think one huge influence on my style is that I didn’t start experimenting with tapping in my original music until I learned the song Drifting by Andy McKee. His style of tapping is very different from what you’d normally hear in math rock. Namely the tap+finger picking notes+pull off thing I do in basically all my songs. That’s kind of a staple of my style at this point.

Zanyzazza close, The D string is tuned a full step down as well so it’s FACGCE
Bollocks! I should have heard that, I thought the final chord felt a little funky. Thanks for getting back to me :)
I come back to this song so often, its beautiful
Thanks for being real and making me laugh even when some shit you say is sad. I found one song and now I'm hooked. Thanks for being a friend from far away that I've never met.

You know the solidarity snaps people give at a poetry slam? All of those.
Touches my soul so delicately but hits it so hard with how relatable it is.

Thanks so much! It still baffles me to see this many people actually watching me play my original songs. You rule and your kind words are deeply appreciated
i love your originals man. do you guys have anything recorded?
Christian Wyrwas We do, we’re still tweaking the final mix with the studio engineer. But as soon as we have stuff available we’ll put it everywhere possible
Is this an original or a cover? 'Tis beautiful
What? I'm here 2 years late and it only has 20k views? Luv ya
Hey man would you mind telling me the chord shapes you’re playing? Trying to transcribe this~~
Christian Wyrwas It’s like 434400 222400 777900 and 000200
The only other chord is 234000
relative to the capo of course, so all of that plus 3 frets
This is just so pretty
How did you learn this math rock style of playing??
Kaitlynn Aviles Okay, strap in because this is gonna be a long one.
I have always been an indie rocker at heart, but I loved bands like the Strokes and Modest Mouse who had cool guitar riffs playing over their rhythm guitar parts. The thing is, I didn’t have any friends who were into the same type of music as me to write with. So, out of sheer necessity, I began writing lead riffs into the chords I was playing. That way I could kind of do the jobs of both the rhythm and lead guitar player in my music. His style of tapping is very different from what you’d normally hear in math rock. Namely the tap+finger picking notes+pull off thing I do in basically all my songs. That’s kind of a staple of my style at this point.
great original. would love to eventually collab
Do you upload your songs on spotify?
Does anybody know the tuning, I'm trying to learn this but am not sure on the tuning.
Cory, wich are your main music influences ?
