@@aarongilmore1254 I mean to be fair, they already give you a ton of shit with the box set, including a lot of special features for each movie, theatrical an unrated versions for a few of the movies, a bonus case along with the movies that contains some extra stuff, new 4K scans for the movies, and some little booklet that gives you even more information about the franchise.

It’s really amazing to finally watch Part 3 on a modern 3D television and to see the 3D effects jump out at you.
They need to re-release the Halloween 🎃 set.

The alternate poster art on the insides of the disc cases were the theatrical teaser posters. They were given to theaters months in advance to hang in the lobby while the movies were still being made. I remember the hockey mask poster for the remake hanging at my local theater the summer before it came out in 2009. I wish the folks who worked on the set would have included the “I Love NY” teaser poster for part 8. The outside artwork on the disc cases were the posters that went to theaters when the movie came out.
That would have been great, I wish they had included the VHS cover for 5.

I own the Scream Factory version. Bought it back in August. I. Regret. NOTHING. The tin set goes for way more than I was willing to pay.

Cool vid, I didn't remember if there was another set that included all 12 movies.. I'm pretty sure I heard it before but wasn't sure. And don't apologize for making a longer video, I'm sure any of us are mad about it.

Part 8 isn't my favorite but it's the one I've watched the most. The ship scenes are alright but the movie becomes GREAT when it gets to Newcouver lol. Unfortunately that only consists of like the last one-third of the film. And Julius is absolutely one of the best characters of the entire franchise =)

sometimes the vhs artwork is better then the original theatrical artwork...and thats the case with a new beginning and childs play....the vhs art for childs play is dope, i think i remember you showing off your laserdisc which is the same art in your laserdisc vs dvd comparison video a while back. great video man!
Great video on comparing the WB set and Scream Factory set. After the set was announced I immediately came up with a wishlist for the ultimate A Nightmare on Elm Street set. I am just wondering if you ever did a wishlist video for the ultimate A Nightmare on Elm Street set if Scream Factory would get the rights. To me the only good A Nightmare on Elm Street set is the DVD version released in 1999. I’ll watch that set anytime I want to have a marathon over the WB Blu-ray set as that one has issues with color.

My set is supposed to arrive on Oct.19th from Amazon. I also still have my steel tin set. I really hope that the pegs that hold the discs in place in the cases or the pegs that keep the cases closed are not broken! That’s happened to me A Lot lately with horror movies from Shout factory on Blu-Ray that I got from Amazon. That box art is epic. Can’t wait to watch 1-4 with the new 4K scans & Part 3 in true Blu Ray 3D. Great video man

Great video, I have the tin set and still have yet to get the SF edition. I may or may not get it, I'm not the biggest Friday the 13th fan, but this is guaranteed to go OOP over time just like the Halloween set, so we'll see.

I just redeemed my digital codes for the tin set this past May for the 40th anniversary and it still worked at that time.
Their both good in different ways 👍👍 at least the new set every film has their own disc and case!BTW sweet freddy attire 🤟
Jason X might be my 3rd or 4th favorite of the series. I think I was expecting it to be terrible but was surprised how fun it was.

I am an owner of the black tin set and I am a big fan of the series. I still believe that the real selling point for this set is simply the box with individual cases and reversible case art.
The other stuff is honestly just unnecessary. In the black tin set the Blu Ray discs are great enough and the 2d version for part 3 is wonderful even without watching the 3d version with the glasses. The uncut Jason Goes to Hell version for the new set is cool but still not not needed and the extra special feature stuff is always great too but I feel like it's pretty much just the "same song and dance".
My point is, if you are a Friday the 13th fan or just a collecting enthusiast you would be sold with just the box, individual cases and reversible case arts. Stay healthy brother, cheers! 🎃🔪🤙🏽

My brother and I were talking about Friday the 13th the other day. He actually had the From Crystal Lake to Manhattan set back when it was first released. He let me borrow them. I want to say I saw all the interviews on the set posted to UA-cam but he regrettably sold the set to a pawn shop. I showed him how much they ask for that set now on Amazon and he just was floored, haha. He hates himself for selling that set for some smokes and car gas, haha. Live and learn. But I got my Scream Factory set in on Thursday, so I'm relieved and happy.

You did a great job on the set. I bought my set from Amazon and hope that scream factory will still replace the disks even if I bought it threw amazon. I haven't ever had issues with anytthing from them. When I bought the deluxe set of Halloween the issues had already been fixed.
I bought Army/Darkness from Amazon and SF sent me replacement discs.
Cool comparisons. I just need X and Hell on Blu-ray really. I have that little 20 dollar blu ray set with most of the films. lol

Jason Goes to Hell uncut has some issues where SPOILER ALERT!
Ward’s death scene in the uncut version is the theatrical version, at least on mine it is.
I noticed that too, I know it was shown in the previous edition and it was in the theatrical cut

The scream factory box set is no doubt the best set to date. Having said that the tin set is still a very solid set yes it has some issues but overall it’s a great set that offers a lot. Btw Christian I love that shirt and hat great video!

To add to the discussion regarding A New Beginning poster art, the white hockey mask was only used in the VHS box art, the poster with text only "If Jason Still Haunts You, You're Not Alone" was the North American poster art, and the image with the male figure on one side and Jason's Mask on the other was used both in print media and internationally.. I was a collector of the posters and missed out on Ebay for the Australian 1-Sheet twice years ago but I researched the original newspaper ads in the Toronto area back around the time of Jason Goes to Hell being released back in 93. Paramount used text only for 2, 4 and 5 for the 1-sheets, I do have an oversized part 2 poster with the body outline with the bloody axe and the Final Chapter (mask with knife through it on top of a pool of blood with the text Jason is back, and this is the one you've been screaming for) poster from Australia. The knife was removed in some print ads.
While I am tempted to snag the scream factory set( I have been seeing killer deals for it on Ebay!), the only thing holding me back is the issue with multiple discs of the same movie that I keep hearing about! On the other hand, I own the tin box collectors set, and am satisfied with it, even though it doesn't come with the bells and whistles of the scream factory set, including the unrated version of Jason goes to Hell. Perhaps one day I'll make the plunge and snag the other set, but I'm good for now!

I watched 3 3D with my psvr and it was cool as hell, all the times I've rented that movie as a kid and I never got to watch it the way it was intended!
The legend is true. The digital copy of JGTH is uncut which is random. Unfortunately I lost all the New Line movies on digital when Ultra Violet went away, still have the first 8 though. I still upgraded to the new set and I am keeping the tin set as well.
This may be wishful thinking but I’d love to see a director’s cut of Part 2 with the cut scenes remastered and edited into the movie.
I saw your comparison video & I got 2 say 1 thing: I really like your ball cap. And they should have added his name was Jason & crystal lake memories to the set as well. Would anybody agree?
Are you planning on doing a video if shout factory announces an official replacement for the discs informing your viewers; I like your demeanor in this video alot and plan to check out your other stuff now so you seen like a good reliable source :) . I'm still waiting for mine to come in the mail and this whole controversy has kinda deflated my excitement after an already downer year. This was like the last thing I was looking forward to after having to quit my job :(

I already own the tin set and literally don't have the space for the new set, even though it's great. I also wasn't totally in love with Jason movies so the price point is just a little high for me.

This is the same thing with dc fandoms where if dc characters wins, dc fans screams of joy and rub everyone the wrong way but when they lose they instantly go to the dc handbook at go batshit crazy.
Personally I'm learning more about each fandoms, if you know this guy karlwoods his pretty much a dickhead, he likes to talk shit but when someone debunks him he goes crazy.
Him and his friends says that they like to "joke" around but then bans in twitch.
I hate when SF beats around the bush with people by saying "we're investigating it"..... just say you're going to replace it and call it a day. We know it's inevitable that they're going to send out replacement discs. Jason X also is missing some audio and they screwed up the 3D opening titles from what I've heard..... still a great set though!

Just email them on their main site and ask them for the replacements.
They will issue out something on their Facebook page or website eventually, with a link where you can email them and provide the necessary info.

I got my Shiut factory set today. Wished I hadnt ordered it now. 7 discs in my set have deep scratches. I'm not looking forward to dealing with shouts customer service. I've had to before and they weren't very forth coming with the help.

I was very tempted to eBay my ‘tin’ collection and jump on this set, but as I live in the U.K. I decided it wasn’t worth the agro - I’d have got hit with about £30 import tax on top of shipping. Now I’m hearing about all these defects I’m glad I didn’t bother, it would have been a pain to get any replacement disks or return the box set if it had arrived damaged.

really surprised me that the huge set with indivual boxes is popular, i thought everyone wanted the tins that had all the discs inside, kinda like the red Elm Street DVD set

Carl Fullarton was the gentleman with the April 1981 Vhs tape with the extra footage the make up effects guy on part 2.
If you have a ps4 and a ps4 VR u can actually watch 3d blu Ray's without the need of a 3d tv. Pretty cool

I have the old New Line Platinum collection of Nightmare 1 to New Nightmare on dvd, but wouldn't say no to a blu ray collection with proper 3d for Freddy's Dead. Only downside is that a blu ray collection might end up double dipping with another copy of Freddy vs Jason.

The best part for me was listening to the cast of part 2 on the commentary. They are my favorite and that sequel is my favorite Friday. I'm going to buy two 24x36 frames and frame my posters they are freaking beautiful. Part three had the same commentary from 2004 DVD crystal lake to Manhattan release but what can you do. I love it and the first 4 movies are what I bought it for and the deleted scenes from part 2. At first I was pissed because at first glance there is no mention of the commentary on part 2 and to my delight there are two separate commentaries one with the final girl Amy Steel and the second one with Stu Charno, Bill Randolph, Kirsten Baker, Lauren Marie Taylor, Russell Todd "Scott", they love the fans and the legacy of the series and its just great to hear them all talk about my favorite entry of the series. It's price was pretty high but I guess since I got the two posters for 15 a pop money well spent. I've been a fan of the series since I saw the first one at the drive in the summer of 1980 and pretty much shit my pants 😆 still have my tin blu ray boxset and the crystal lake to Manhattan and the single deluxe DVDs and I just sold all of my VHS Fridays for a nice chunk to a person who was even more obsessed with the series than me 😆 One part of the series I just can't stand to watch is Jason goes to hell. I was so stoked back in 93 to go to it my brother and I got super baked and then he gets fucking blown up and he's now a invasion of the body snatcher, with book of the dead and a special knife to kill him. But that diner scene where he elbows the fat chick so hard her face caves in was cool. I haven't watched that movie since I went to the theater in the summer of 93. Jason X I liked and even though it was cheesy it was better than JGTH. Freddy vs Jason was a bummer because Hodder got screwed by the director. The only good thing about that movie was the fight between the two titans. All in all I love the new set and I love the old sets. Part 3 has always looked the same no matter what kind of scan it gets. It looks just like Jaws 3 because they used the exact same camera and 3d effects. You got my subscription after I saw you break out the Crystal lake to Manhattan book. You are my type of person being to hang out with and watch Friday movies with and talk about like with my brothers. I got them all hooked on them but not like I am. My man cave is like a shrine to Voorhees and Rocky Balboa 😆 I need to buy a bigger house of knock down my back wall and make my room bigger because I'm out of space. Just like you man I'll never get rid of my blu ray set. Oh I forgot about my DVD set that has all the kills and weapons used and came with a replica mask that was cheesy but still cool and I also have that too. That's better to me than the crystal lake to Manhattan set but I still love all of them. I still have my Nintendo and the game 😆 I even have a backup nes once we the other one breaks 😆 im lucky too my son works and is manager at a pawn shop and he finds me everything I love in terms of boxset if i don't have something or games or any blu ray. He makes it a lot easier to find cool shit. For Christmas a couple years ago he got me the scream factory Halloween set for like 50 bucks I got lucky. Jesus I guess I wrote a novel but this channel is real cool for a old school guy like me enjoy. Nice to see the younger generation love these great movies. My 13 year old daughter loves these movies like I do but my 26 year old son and 22 year old daughter could care less. I guess it jumped a decade to my youngest and one day when I'm gone she will get everything in my horror collection which right now is about 1200 blu rays then I got about 1500 action, drama, comedy so I don't get bored looking for something to watch. The coolest thing for me that i was able to acquire from a movie has nothing to do with horror is a Warner Brothers movie set picture of my cousin Frank who played the character Shute in the movie vision quest and he signed ,to to my Cousin Matt, I wish you the best, Shute is looking for you! In the picture he's getting ready to put that tree on his shoulders and he just looks phenomenal. Have a good one loved the video and looking forward to many more.

Does the new Friday the 13th set come with a digital code? If I were you I'd try the tin digital code. I used mine years later and it worked. Most do even if expired. Thanks for the video update.
One thing that the tin set had is the Crystal Lake Memories. Which is absent in the new box set. Also, no His Name Was Jason, these were released years ago, and to be a"complete collection deluxe", should have these.
I feel like if they are gonna bother with 4K scans, they might as well be 4k Discs, I just don't think the cost justifies what the set is. I'll stick with the tin set.

The 8 disc paramount set is not true 3D. Just the red and blue glasses style.
