A very informative review. Noticing its best to watch several as different pilots are picking up on or focused on different aspects. Eg you blokes showed up the Headtracking using the Motion controller very well! Thanks Laurie NZ. Towerless in Tokoroa…
I'm fairly impressed with the nifty joystick but even more impressed with what little freestyle this little thing could do (albeit that'd be stupid). THIS is actually what I'd expect from a $1,300+ cine system. Be able to do ALL the cine you want but also a little freestyle too if you wanna get fancy or have a client who doesn't understand drones but demands more on the day & is willing to pay for the risk involved.
Honestly these goggles look so good i would even invest into another air unit. Also i'm still rocking the original v1's so this will def. be a buy for me as soon as they release a air unit kit
The new FPV drone seems cool and the new Goggles 2 look awesome. It is just a bad and sad decision that they won't work with the Air units. Maybe better Air units will come and they make the right decision to open it up to the FPV Air units :)
I am definitely interested in the system. I don't have a cine whoop and would like to add one to my fleet, but it is very important to me that the new goggles work with the old vistas and air units. I won't be buying this if the new goggles are not backwards compatible with the old systems.
Thanks for your review, guys! I enjoyed it. I own two DJI FPV units and multiple other drones that use their air units. I absolutely won’t consider the new goggles unless they’re made backwards compatible.
Another brilliant creation from DJI! It's obvious they paid close attention to improving the transmission and overall intuitive functions of the drone!
Down right shady that the old goggles are compatible with the new drone, but new goggles aren't compatible with air units. Clearly they can be compatible and DJI either didn't care to put in the work to enable this, or they are purposely holding off in order to sell more of this new cinewhoop. Either way, hate the decision. Drone itself seems promising. Goggles seem great too.
Yup. It's GAME OVER for me, for this exact reason. It also exposed how much "control" DJI has, vs custom builds. The no backwards compatibility stunt is a big F.U. message from DJI, IMHO. Doesn't sit well with me.

I would like to upgrade my goggles from v1 to g2 - It NEEDS to work with existing air units/ vista's or if the tech has changed with a signicant improvement in latency/ video quality I'd be willing to get new air units. Make it happen!
Why don't people realize this has never been djis motto?
Shredding part rocks really hard, thanks a lot ! :)
Awesome Review my dudes. I’m impressed 🤘🏻👊🏻👊🏻 I definitely would love to see the goggles used with our traditional fpv drones or have the new Air units compatible with the DJI v2 goggles.
i have recently got a fpv and think your builds are pretty nice, great video, i want to do investments with on to use some of your builds.
Finally a review that shows what the avata really can do!!!!!
Bubby’s laugh. Picked up some Stranger Things vibe lol
Looks awesome, sadly im gonna wait to buy it tho, until they have a combo with the regular controller
This is the first review video I've seen that showcases the movement with the head. Now that I know it can strafe with the motion controller i really want one
Love bubby reactions
As a content creator and beginner drone pilot, I'm really looking forward to making this purchase.
Ill wait for the Joshua Bardwell review. Youve gotta love that dude😍
How did you record the menu screen? 🤔
Bubby: Oh ah... that controller sucks! Then LeDrib cut the video LOL
Thank you for showing what Avata can do in manual.
thanks for the review! I just ordered one for myself! Looking forward to get it soon!
DJI Team --- I'm heavily invested in the current fpv air units and air unit lites. I would upgrade my current goggles if they were backwards compatible. As a quadriplegic I have limited hand mobility. I'm not sure how accessible the touchpad will be if it requires multiple finger gestures. But they look great!
Ur quad & fly drone? 👏 . Awsome man hope Dji listens!
@@SmokytheBear6969 yep I build and race them. Building takes about 10 times longer than anyone else but I get it done. I've always had great support from my local multigp chapter friends. I've modded my transmitter some and fly better than I every thought possible. It's not as exhilarating as the Motocross race they put in the chair but it is an awesome adrenaline rush 👍
Pulled the trigger just for the new controller. Needed to experience that… but I personally can’t stand cinewhoops and I’m really curious if the sound can be reduced by removing prop guards etc
really interesting! I quite like the motion controller. I thought it was stupid at first, but I like it in your video. I hear the new DJI goggles won't connect to the DJI FPV :( it's strange Avata can work with old DJI glasses but vice versa new glasses can't work with older... I guess they want to increase sales of the DJI Avata...
durability looks great
Good Job, on the review Video, specilly because you guys tested it with the motion controller
A very informative review. Noticing its best to watch several as different pilots are picking up on or focused on different aspects. Eg you blokes showed up the Headtracking using the Motion controller very well! Thanks Laurie NZ. Towerless in Tokoroa…
Someone please explain what he did on the controller at 19mins which the screw driver?
I'm fairly impressed with the nifty joystick but even more impressed with what little freestyle this little thing could do (albeit that'd be stupid). THIS is actually what I'd expect from a $1,300+ cine system. Be able to do ALL the cine you want but also a little freestyle too if you wanna get fancy or have a client who doesn't understand drones but demands more on the day & is willing to pay for the risk involved.
Great video! Love flying the Avata
the second air unit and air unit lite compatibility is confirmed, i'm ordering the goggles.
New air units are coming in september $300+
amazing guys! cheers
wow what a test and review friggin amazing guys
I am definitely interested in the system. I don't have a cine whoop and would like to add one to my fleet, but it is very important to me that the new goggles work with the old vistas and air units. I won't be buying this if the new goggles are not backwards compatible with the old systems.
Like all the other comments. This is a non-starter for me unless the Goggles 2 become backwards compat with existing air units.
Thanks for your review, guys! I enjoyed it.
I own two DJI FPV units and multiple other drones that use their air units. I absolutely won’t consider the new goggles unless they’re made backwards compatible.
20:00 is the most important bit. Thanks for demoing the manual flight
Another brilliant creation from DJI! It's obvious they paid close attention to improving the transmission and overall intuitive functions of the drone!
What app did you use view at iphone?
I’m sure it’s the same Dji fly app as before.
I'm only interested in the goggles if DJI add backward compatibly. And full Btfl OSD canvas support.
Did you lock the horizon in the mini golf course? May that would help the movement
Should I buy this dji avata or make one for myself I am new to fpv
Love to c yall having fun.
So can it fly reliably with GPS indoors through small gaps (with enough light)?
Not sure why you would need GPS to fly through gaps?
I think it uses optical tracking to fly steady inside if it's not in Acro mode. I think the Mavics are the same to hold hover indoors.
@@benargee Thanks. I wonder if it's reliable enough for precision flying.
@@360vroomers I think the video demonstrated it pretty well
@@benargee I saw the indoor low light and its limits but i didn't see an indoor flight with regular light.
We want to use the Goggles with the Vista, and Air Unit!
Bonus....It has lens focus!!
This is the best review no the Avata! Thank you guys
Exactly thes are just testing if they can get away with it. dji used to be different
Yup. It's GAME OVER for me, for this exact reason. It also exposed how much "control" DJI has, vs custom builds. The no backwards compatibility stunt is a big F.U. message from DJI, IMHO. Doesn't sit well with me.
@@cognetic time for walksnail
@@Salamattder Apparently so..
is the goggles to iphone connection available on V1 goggles?
definitely I'm not going to change all my vistas for this! I hope DJI will fix that backwards compatibility
“Dji will evaluate customer reaction and market demand for expanding air unit/vista compatibility”
Translated: “We are aware of what customers want but intend to sell more of our new products and have no intention of compatibility with older products unless we determine it’s limiting new product sales volume.”
Flight experience game strong!!! Can't wait to have this drone soon!
If they don’t make the goggle compatible with air units and vistas within 30 days I’m buying walksnail. That should put a 🔥 in em lol 😂
can you put a led stripe and fly inside? go through alot of concrete walls
I have to get me one 😎👍🏽
how about fogging in the lens? I want to know about new one and old one too
