i agree, that made this song theirs. A cover is only worth doing if performer/artist can bring something to the song. This rendition brings authentic wistful feeling and tasteful fusion. Nicely done.
I love the way Ding Jing plays that Erhu, the sound she gets out of the instrument is truly amazing. Great work, give us a smile once in a while to show you enjoy the music.
I am from east of Amarillo and have heard this my entire life, and this is an excellent rendition of this classic that stays true to its rural roots with its instrumentation and tone. I love it and I would think that it would be welcome at any West Texas Rodeo or Bob Wills concert in Turkey, TX.
How about you invite them for a public performance in Amarillo? Talk to the Mayor and local officials, I think that the State Department has cultural exchange programs.🤔
I’m a guitarist and singer from Texas and my Stetson hat is off with pure respect for this talented band from another land. I would mix music with these folks anytime.
Right? It really is soothing, love that description. It’s called an ErHu, literally means ‘Er’ or ‘two’ and ‘Hu’ or ‘string’ in Mandarin Chinese! I was able to visit mainland China in 2012 and got to see it played along with other instruments live in a local band on the street, it was so cool.
Just remarkable!! Here Here to everything good that has been said about this wonderful group. Who knew that such a simple stringed instrument could sing like that!
I love this. Others have expressed very well how beautiful and skilled all the musicians are. I especially love the banjo and fiddle parts, but it is all wonderful. I hope to hear more from this group.
I sing this at karaoke at our local VFW...... this is very impressive. The oriental violin is awesome. And that youngun on guitar!!! Spectacular! Very well done!
Out standing all of you! I was amazed by the beautiful sounds coming out of the Erhu. Much like the violin but with a sweeter and smoother sound. It was outstanding!
I’m a native Texan, reared on Hank Williams to George Straight. Worked in China for a few years and married a wonderful Chinese woman and we will celebrate our 27th anniversary next month. I have heard a few good C&W cover bands mostly Philippine and one Chinese (in Beijing) but you guys have nailed it. Eric, even your vocals in Amarillo By Morning sound like you may have come from Austin. Xie Xie
Beautiful song. Makes me won't to visit Amarillo. It's not mentioned as to the nationality of these musicians but we have appropriated so much from the cultures of the world, it's pleasing to see that other cultures see something redeeming in ours.
This is a music genre that I've not really had much interest in before, but a friend sent me the link to your video and it put a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. It's beautiful!
These kids are in China. They did an incredible job of their rendition Amarillo by Morning. One thing I couldn't help but notice was the bamboo, Forrest. I was an infantry solider 11B with the US Army's 4th Infantry Div. located in the central highlands of the country in 1968/69. Bamboo brings back memories.........
We all like a lot of the same things and need the same things including good music, so why can't we all get along in this world? It is the only one we have. I like Chinese music and they seem to like ours. From Indiana USA. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
Isn't music a beautiful thing as it brings everyone together? I loved the cover of the very same song done by the Mongolian singer Enkh and to me that was the best cover of that song by anyone. Love that girl playing Erhu . . .Good job!
This proves strings are great.. No matter who the good musician is. Or what type striinged instrument. The little guy on the flattop is cool . Way to go bud.
I’m a lifelong Texas country musician and singer ,& yall need to be very proud of what you’ve done here. Outstanding version.
Great cover!!!
I will most enthusiastically second that
Here from West Virginia to say the same. I LOVE this and I love seeing our music spread and loved and appreciated around the globe.
These guys are killer. Ol girl on that box fiddle killed it so beautiful the way she made it almost talk. So much sound from only 2 strings amazing.
Yes, she almost got it talking.
i agree, that made this song theirs. A cover is only worth doing if performer/artist can bring something to the song. This rendition brings authentic wistful feeling and tasteful fusion. Nicely done.
Yes, her Sound and playing catch my heart from the first second.
That instrument is beautiful…I don’t think I’ve ever heard the term “box fiddle”
So I’ll definitely make note
@@davidaldridge5716Actual name is erhu as noted in the video.
I've never heard Erhu played like that. This was beautifully done!
As a lover of Bluegrass music this really warms my heart! Great music crosses all cultural boundaries.
I rarely leave comments, but WOW, this rendition was OUTSTANDING! George Straight would be proud of y’all!
It's amazing how well the erhu compliments bluegrass music so perfectly! Very nicely done 👏 👏
It's as if they decided a violin wasn't haunting enough so they crossed it with a flute and made it cry. ❤
That ehru is downright devastating in the best way
And she is so damn cool while she plays.
@@joshuaingram571 yes, i loved it.
A very haunting tone.
As a Born and raised Texan. God Bless! Great rendition! Tip of the hat to one and all.
I have watched this 20 times since it came across my feed. No one can touch it. Even the pros.
Seeing lil man playing got me. God bless you fellas
Sitting at my home in Amarillo, loving your music in 2024.
I love the way Ding Jing plays that Erhu, the sound she gets out of the instrument is truly amazing. Great work, give us a smile once in a while to show you enjoy the music.
Tal vez sean texanos .pero de no ser asi tocan exelente ese tema tan clasico .ademas ese instrumento clasico de oriente lo hace sonar increible .

That Chinese fiddle made my tear up a little. Proud West Texas cowboy here.
I never thought I would see an Asian bluegrass band, but I'm glad I did. You are awesome!❤
Texas guy here, you guys are breath of fresh air ! The king himself i am sure, is proud !
Now that's a different version of a classic country song.......The sound from that box Fiddle is magical it reminds me of Peruvian Flutes.......
I think you really convey the feeling of that song. It sounds honest and genuine. Great job
The little boy's guitar is bigger than he is. As cute as cute can get. Beautiful song, beautiful setting and so much talent.
I’m a guitarist and singer from Texas and my Stetson hat is off with pure respect for this talented band from another land. I would mix music with these folks anytime.
Tears in my eyes...Have always loved this song! Please come to the Houston Rodeo next year!!!
Hey how are you doing today?
The instrument used for the fiddle. Has such a soothing sound.
We are all Family on this little spinning Ball called Earth. Great job Friends. Bravo.
Just remarkable!! Here Here to everything good that has been said about this wonderful group. Who knew that such a simple stringed instrument could sing like that!
Magic ensemble! Congratulations!
Well said.
I got chills. That is beautiful music!
Seriously??
@@whereRbearsTeeth -- Seriously, the erhu really enriched this song.
This cover is most appreciated.
I love this. Others have expressed very well how beautiful and skilled all the musicians are. I especially love the banjo and fiddle parts, but it is all wonderful. I hope to hear more from this group.
I'm loving all of your stuff. I think the erhu is a brilliant addition.
I sing this at karaoke at our local VFW...... this is very impressive. The oriental violin is awesome. And that youngun on guitar!!! Spectacular! Very well done!
Very beautiful version of one of the greatest country songs. Your talent shines. God bless.
Hello how are you doing today?
Beautiful. The little boy on the guitar gives off a bit of a 'kid from Deliverance' vibe.
Hey how are you doing today?
@canadaclaret....I thought of that myself.😊
I wasn’t gonna say it…. 🤣
There is something beautiful about this cover. It brings me peace every time I listen.
Are yall trying to make me cry? This is absolutely beautiful
As a lover of country music and a performer this video caught my eye. Everyone did a great job and I really enjoyed the Erhu.

Wonderful rendition, haven't heard this song in ages, now it will be on my mind for a long time.
I haven't been heard better cover. East meets West and what a beautiful tribute to both.
Wow! This is extraordinary. Stunning in every way 🥰🥰🥰
I LOVE other countries playing our Appalachian music! Especially when infused with their own culture's music! You did great! Makes me proud 😭

Beautifully done!
Beautifully done! The music is amazing and the videography really compliments the song! I love it!
That Erhu sounds cool in all your videos. Could you have the Erhu play longer solos in your next videos? Jambalaya was totally awesome with the Erhu.
Yeah!! Please more solos on erhu! It sounds very „longing“……😮
Outstanding! Thank you for posting this, my favorite "Texas" tune.
Loved these engaging vocals and really the entire group!
The best version out there ! Great Heart ! Ya hoo !!!
Bravo! The ehru fit so well into this American country classic.
WELL DONE ! And I never anticipated a cultural blending like this !
Nothing to buck this amazing rendition of banjo and fiddle and everything about the band, KPP nz
What can I say WONDERFUL
Beautiful song. Makes me won't to visit Amarillo. It's not mentioned as to the nationality of these musicians but we have appropriated so much from the cultures of the world, it's pleasing to see that other cultures see something redeeming in ours.
BEAUTIFUL
Wow, I've had the privilege of seeing George in concert, and I think you guys killed it!❤
This is a music genre that I've not really had much interest in before, but a friend sent me the link to your video and it put a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. It's beautiful!

Fantastic music! I like the blended instruments!😊😊
This should be called BambooGrass. Excellent cover.
Nice job mixing in the Chinese instrument was a nice touch. Music touches hearts across the races.
This so unique! I’ve never seen Erhu used in bluegrass, but it sounds beautiful! Never quit

Thank you thank you I really love bluegrass, nice addition nice I don't know what to say except thank you.
Wonderful! Music is universal!
The erhu complements the western instruments so great too!
Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic!
我喜欢丁静的演奏,听起来像长笛,有时像单簧管,当然还有二胡。
I love how Ding Jing can make it sound like a flute, sometimes a clarinet, and of course an Erhu.
Tuned in to hear the fine Spirit uniquely reached by bluegrass ,sometimes.and I found it.Oh m"goodness
This video should have 10,000,000 views. Excellent rendition of the song.
It's beautiful to see other cultures enjoying our music
Fantastic, Wonderful !!!
