I like AMMO products, and the fact that he does not have 100+ products to keep up on. The fact that he has a limited product line that targets certain aspects of detailing he can keep his production costs down. I am sure when more people buy AMMO products, his price may come down a bit, you never know. I am waiting for my shipment of AMMO right now from the Black Friday deals. Cant wait.
I can't help but notice you only did one front wheel for the video, are the fronts on your mk7 the one's that get the dirtiest? on the mk5's they have a rear brake bias so the rears get the most brake dust. I bring it up because you didn't really see the wheel turn purple cause there was little to no brake dust, also possibly because of the coating you have on the wheels. If your wheels are coated you don't really need to use ammo plum just brute if anything. From my experience ammo mud lasts a few weeks like 2-3 weeks depending on conditions, but last way less if it rains.
If you don't let your wheels get really bad then Griot's should be plenty for what you do. I'd rather spend my money on Hydrate and Reflex versus this wheel regimen.
I still think that his wheel cleaner is overpriced at $20 for 16 oz. A wheel cleaner can only be so strong. A liter of Iron X is the way better buy imho for a "high end" cleaner, or adams wheel cleaner. If your rims are coated, the ammo is a 100% waste of money, as something like brute soap is really the most you need.
My wheels stay really clean after coating them. A mild APC and a scrub brush is all I need to keep mine clean. I do agree on the price though being very high for the wheel cleaner.
DUDE! If your gonna review a product follow the instructions and don't use extra products. plum goes on the wheel and tire. rinse, plumb on rim and rubber, wash rim and rubber with brute, apply mud, done. your making it too complicated, i couldnt finish the vid, too much cringe
Jonathan Rogers do you even need to pre rinse when applying PLUM? I thought it was squirt, sit, rinse with BRUTE or whatever wheel cleaner you're using.
Depends on what your trying to do and how bad the rim/tire is. AMMO video states that what I said is the correct process. The rinse take care of the easy to remove debris and dust . It says apply the plumb to the wet wheel. By getting the easy stuff it allows the plum to focus on the hard to remove stuff, as i understand it, then wash. I'm going off the ammo video ua-cam.com/video/sd16iX8Ore8/v-deo.html , I love the AMMO products but I have to be slelective since they are pricey and i only have daily drivers. I still take good care of them, I just have to really be able to justify a premium product.
Jonathan Rogers awesome thanks for the link. Yeah man I hear ya. I did some reading and watched his videos prior to making my purchase. Ended up getting the Soap, Hydrate, Wheel wash and plum.
so far i have used car soap and winter wash, both are awsome. I plan on re purchasing the winter wash as i have hard water and go back to meguiars gold when i run out of the wash. I also got reflex, and am going to get skin next. Been using the tire mud too, but its been raining since i put it on almost 2 weeks ago and i havent really got to get a good look at it in the sun, it was evening when i put it on, and it has been raining/snowing for the last 2 weeks almost.
Love that Ammo stuff... where it started all for me.... going for the whole lineup

I do love the decent amount of suds that the wheel soap produces
Do it when they are dirty

Since my wheels are coated they all stay really clean, so deep cleaners are not needed.
Is this product safe for chromed/anodized wheels?
Great video Ryan! I have the same setup and love it.
Is it true that Ammo Plum actually smells good?
do you have a link to the black wash mitt that helps support your channel?
Cool bro. I use Griot's regular wheel cleaner since it's a good price. How does this stack up against something like that?
If you don't let your wheels get really bad then Griot's should be plenty for what you do. I'd rather spend my money on Hydrate and Reflex versus this wheel regimen.
how does plum smell? is it as bad as Adam's or iron x?
What wheel coating do you use?
