This was phenomenal! From the thickness differences to the sanding technique to meld it together, he actually is about as realistic as one can get with solid wood! Good job 👏🏼
You might also consider epoxy, colored in different tones or colors, either to fill in tight spaces or account for difficult colors to find. Also stained glass or stained glass designing practices.
I think using epoxy and colored tones could definitely make it more colorful and closer to actual drawing! However, the use of natural wood colors alone takes this from a really cool piece of art to an extraordinary one.
Once again you've blown my mind, Billy. I can't even comprehend how to go about doing something like this. Every time I think you've gone way over the edge, you just go farther. Bill
"All I have to do is cut two parallel lines" 😂 I find straight lines to be the absolute hardest cut to make on a scroll saw because any little wiggle is immediately noticeable as opposed to cuts that turn. Absolutely amazing work!
Wow, man!! I have some experience with scroll sawing, and I know how difficult it was to pull off this project. The time and dedication that it must have taken is understated! Great work! I hope this earns your channel a ton more subscribers because you deserve it.
Stunning piece, Billy! You definitely overdid yourself this time! 😃 The black parts were definitely the right call! Really well done!!! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Dude, you could just use aluminum for the swords. If it’s thin enough, you can cut it with a scroll saw. It’s tuff, but doable. That being said, this was astonishing work!
@@NewtonMakesArt you can use a very thin aluminum. Soda can might work well. You’d probably need to laminate it to a substrate of some kind, but it would be much easier to cut.
That is really unbelievable! Great work! Not sure I understand fully how you did this, but all the little crevices are just cut out and not filled with anything?
@@NewtonMakesArt thanks man, I guess that’s pretty obvious. I’ll check it out, I didn’t think that was how you did it but now I’m curious to see it. Keep it up 👍🏻
As I was watching this I just kept thinking "Man this guy needs a Co2 laser to make easy work of all these tiny details" but then I saw you have one. What's the reason you chose the saw instead?
How does this channel only have 4.7k subscribers?!?
🤫 Keeping it low key. We don't want to accidentally take over the internet haha!
That's a lot of scroll saw action but so worth the result.

So. Much. Sanding.
I'm speechless. Hubby will tell you that's not easy❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊Linda
Admittedly, it was a lot of work!
👏 Love your sense of humor as much as your sense of artwork Great Job 👍
Now, if only my kids would come to this realization...
Wow! Amazingly well done. I don't have that patience ... but amazing!!!
I love watching at videos like this.
Just found you today. Just awesome. Thank you.
I was really hoping this was going up for sale.. Awesome..
You must have some incredible patience to work through this work of art. I love how it turned out.
It was a challenge but worth it in the end.

This is absolutely INSANE. Wild how you can get such detail into a wood only art piece. This need hundreds of millions of views.
I'd have to make a 15 second version to keep the attention span of that many people! 😂
That turned out awesome. Well done
Fantastic work! I can understand why it took 2.5 tears
Amazing work!
Awesome work
Looks amazing, the level of detail is crazy. Imagine trying to price one of these up for a customer.
I'm asked a lot. There's just no way to make more than a nickel an hour.
Amazing work.
Unreal performance and production! Fantastic work. 10/10 chimichangas
No less than maximum effort around here
Wow!!! That looks so good! it's hard to believe you pulled it off without using stains or dyes. The shadowing in the black is brilliant.
Not using stain limits my color choices but it's also a fun challenge.
Incredible!!!
That really is something special!
I hear that a lot, and not always for good reasons
Very nice job.
Simply amazing, turned out really good
I'm really happy with it
😮 very very nice
Legendary ❤❤❤

Until I topple over the edge into madness. This was a massive project. Maybe the next one needs to be less complex haha!
Well worth the time spent.

100% correct. I laughed to myself later when I realized I said it.
Unrivaled ability.
Meh, I'm just not smart enough to call it quits like so many incredibly talented people.
Freakin' awesome!!! Great work!
Glad you liked it!!
A beautiful peice of art
That’s amazing. I’m in awe.

Too kind! The great thing about having this second channel away from my main one is not having to worry about the subs. I can just do what I want.
Wow this is awesome. Great job
Thanks!
Stunning piece, Billy! You definitely overdid yourself this time! 😃

I went back and forth in deciding to do it, and then again when deciding if I like it. Ultimately, I feel it was the right choice.
Before this video, I was contemplating giving away my scroll saw. Dredd cut pics here I come.
Come to your senses, keep the saw, and use it until it drives you insane. It's worked wonders for me.
This is beyonderful! (That's beyond wonderful, in case it wasn't clear.)
Oh I'm following!

Great idea. Maybe in the future I'll make a mixed media project.

pretty good sir! i'm a fellow wood artist myself. you have inspired me!
That makes my day, thanks!
That is really unbelievable! Great work! Not sure I understand fully how you did this, but all the little crevices are just cut out and not filled with anything?
Correct. The background is dark so your eyes think the cut spaces are shadows.
That was awesome work. Great Deadpool image too. Also could you soak or wipe blades with kerosene to remove buildup
I was going to but I would have needed to constantly clean them.
Mini dead pool area 😂
How’d you do the cracks in the frame? Amazing piece btw!
Scroll saw. I have a video on it. Link in the description.
@@NewtonMakesArt thanks man, I guess that’s pretty obvious. I’ll check it out, I didn’t think that was how you did it but now I’m curious to see it. Keep it up 👍🏻
What type of wood is the black parts that you added in? It almost looks painted or stained
Ebony. Naturally black!
Paduch, I guess is a little more orange?
That would have been a bit too orange for what I was going for.
As I was watching this I just kept thinking "Man this guy needs a Co2 laser to make easy work of all these tiny details" but then I saw you have one. What's the reason you chose the saw instead?
It's about quiet time at the saw, zoning out and enjoying the ride.
