This is an awesome tutorial but I have troubles with the world texture because it worked well at first but when I came back a few days later it wasn't showing and the sky was pink like if there was no texture. I'm a beginner so I don't know how to make this work properly. Does someone know what I'm doing wrong?

hi I'm a very begginer and @1:15 you click on world and then click on surface use nodes i have a latest version of blender 2.79 i dont see the option of surface can you explain this please
are you on cycles render? you may be on blender render

it took me 5 minutes to render 1 frame now multiple that with 250 it gave me a headache air is there someother way?its very time consuming
You can lower your resolution and drop the samples in the render settings to get a faster but rougher result. Once you're happy put them back up, set it off and go away for the weekend. Or, like me, wait to get better hardware. I'm with you on this.
this will be good for renders, but is it possible to make it interactive with a ship?

Messed up near the beginning, when you said set the resolution to 15 I thought you said 50.... big crash (crappy laptop) :( Got there in the end though, will post result on Twitter when I can do a decent render. Another great tutorial, thanks very much.

how to do the keyframe part? by pressing "i" it just opens the keyframe menu. I can´t see any option to specificly use the keyframes on the Time.... how to do that?
I follow the steps properly and I did it but on a 150 sampling cause of potato pc xD

You must have Blender 2.8+, they completely gutted and rewrote the interface.

You mean render time? That depends on your computer, it will be much faster with a Nvidia GPU for example.
someone please help me! when i place my lighting i wont light the ocean. i´ve added a boat to the scene and the light will only light up the boat and not the ocean. So the ocean is pitch black and the boat is well lit. can someone help me?
Forget the boat for now. Follow the tutorial word for word and get it working. Save the blend file all the way. Add your own stuff later.
But its a imported model from a 3D model website with .blend file. How do I add it later?

LOL! I've been trying to figure out why my ocean wasn't moving for an hour... you have to keyframe the time!?! Blender is so haphazard sometimes... -_-

I tried messing around by myself and Reyes to add foam but I couldn’t find anything under 1 hour long and SUPER in depth to the point where I had NO idea what they were doing
