The Nuclear Submarine That Was Lost At Sea

- In 1968, deep beneath the unforgiving Atlantic Ocean, the USS Scorpion, one of America's most formidable nuclear submarines, simply vanished. This isn't a plot ripped from a Hollywood thriller, but a haunting chapter from the annals of naval history.

Highly abbreviated overhaul in order to get her back on line. The crew called her The Scrapiron. The US Navy sank this ship
How does this only have 23 likes you deserve millions
111 now 😂
It seems his Shorts perform really well, though. That might explain wet he hasn't posted regular videos in a while.
I can't even add a comment for the algorithm sake only replys
Li lol
Well it was in the cold war era, so ivwoukd say there is a 50/50 chance that the navy knows exactly what sunk scorpion. Its just that telling the sovjets about that on big flaw in your sub hunting subs is a bad idea.
Russia is generations ahead of US in submarine technology. They are building both advanced nuclear submarines as well as missiles. There is no comparison between Western toys and Russian Military industrial complex.
@@pvajit1109 Lamo, keep telling that yourself whilst sucking up Putin. If its Russian and swims trough the ocean, its a death trap. Just look at Kursk, Moskwa or that sad bastardization you turned ukrains aircraft carrier into after youvstole it in the 90s
@pvajit1109
Look ☝️ A 🤡.
The U.S. builds a singular circular tube large enough to encapsulate everything including missile silos.
ruZZia can't build these tubes large enough to do that and be able to dive to depth without crushing.
Thus ruZZia produces 2 cylindrical tubes that have to be connected through cross shafts and seperate missile silos sandwiched between them.
This results in a much larger, much noisier much more detectable submarine.
The reason is they lack the metallurgical science to make stronger steel alloys.
ruZZian subs also operate on a lower grade nuclear fuel. Because of this, should they need to scram a reactor, it can take 24 to 72 hours to restart the reactor.
U.S. subs on the other hand uses weapons grade nuclear fuel(94% pure) and should they need to scram a reactor, can restart it within a matter of a few minutes.
The current generation of subs that are being produced have a lifetime fuel charge. That's at least 50 years without the need to refuel the reactor. Verses a matter of a few years for ruZZian submarines.
So. In fact. ruZZia is decades behind the U.S. submarine technology and falling farther behind every year. In fact, The U.S. is about to eliminate propeller drive and eliminating telltale cavitation. Super silent subs.
@@pvajit1109yeah. Super tech like kursk...go sleep one more hour.
@@pvajit1109pfff haha, this guy... 🤣🤣🤣 Did you stop taking your pills?
Bro how are you having this low viewers with that amount of subs. You deserve more.
Becouse he mostly makes shorts. Thats where 99% of his views come from. His longer videos come to irregular to be boosted by the algorythm
Man this is sad to watch, back in my day we grabbed a sledgehammer and played whack-a-missile, the 'Murican version of Russian Roulette.
0:19 why are you showing the “Nautilus?”
They’re literally built in my town. My grandfather was chef of nuclear design.
Thats honestly pretty cool man
Commenting for the algorithm. Great video
Not actually correct on the time but yeah that's what happened to it kind of
My father was supposed to be on that ship
I even have the patches in stuff for this sets the u s set scorpion
Red CUDA Frog 1 at the boarding... Mines torpedo scalp...
1:51 It’s the A-zorr islands
Azores, Portugal. In the middle of Atlantic.
John Walker spying for the Soviet Union from 1967 to 1985, helped the Soviets decipher more than one million encrypted naval messages. The Soviets may have ambushed the Scorpion by laying in wait, knowing it had been directed to the area.
Great video
You wanna hear something funny I have to patches for that ship
