Love this video. It reminds me of a friend's grandmother who always said to my friend "We are too poor to buy cheap things." It's a good idea to buy fewer items at higher quality and enjoy them to the fullest. I think this applies to any budget really (luxury or not).
I am trying to get my sh*t together! I think that it is time to pair things down to just what I love to wear and use. Thank you for your wonderful videos
I agree plus if you wear your cashmere sweater/jumper more even if seasonal the cost per wear goes down same with a good quality handbag and everything else in between. Plus you have less FOMIO because you have those quality pieces and there is no/less need to shop for more stuff.
The Kipling mini back bag I bought since you recommended. It’s the best thing I have bought so far . I use it as my work bag I love how spacious it is yet looks very small . Love it thanks ❤
Thanks for sharing these useful tips, Eileen. I totally agree, I'm always reminded of the money that could have been saved, had I only invested in quality pieces. TFS&I ♥️🌟
Hi Eileen! Thank you for this video. I really love this topic. Would you be able to do a video on how to maintain your items please? I'm interested especially on the jewellery and silk items. Thank you 😍
Yes, buying clothing and handbags are rarely good financial investments. The fact that others can resell their Birkins at a profit doesn’t mean you can, not to mention the consignment commission that is often omitted. So, whenever I heard luxury channel UA-camrs saying this and that is a great investment and the purchase price will only go up, I frown. It’s misleading and may make immature people buy luxuries with a wrong concept or too early. If one can afford, buying quality items, take the best care, not to obsess with keep buying, not going after the latest style and IT bag, are actually better financially and environmentally. With less and pickier purchases, luxury brands will be forced to enhance the quality and design of their products. I like your quote “A wardrobe we enjoy using, not displaying.” Nowadays, people buy to display at home / display wealth to others. And the wealth goes to LVMH group, Hermes, etc. “Wealth is what you cannot see.” by Morgan Housel, author of Psychology of Money.
This is a perfect statement! I was once that immature listener and I’ve learnt the hard way that you only ever sell bags at a loss. Fortunately I only ever bought 2nd hand so my losses were never heart wrenching. Now I still buy designer bag, but it’s few I keep and I use them almost daily (interchangeably) they also are “quiet” enough to be used anywhere and they are functional pieces that go with many things I wear (red, grey, blue). Handbags are horrible investments otherwise.
Wonderful tips. The shoes you presented today are lovely. I have a difficult time wearing pointed shoes, though. Are they still comfortable after wearing them a long time? Clothes and shoes should not be investment pieces to hopefully make money on later in life. I believe having pieces that are meaningful to you and bring you ultimate joy is key. Thanks for this video.

I find the investment of time to care for the investment items the most expensive. It can become, at least, a part-time job. 😅 Thank you!
