    Thanks for the tip on removing the tamper proof screws. My rfz 125 runs good after cleaning the carb. Got any videos on how to change the stator?

      I don't, but I do have a RFZ 125 just sitting around, I'll put it on the list of videos to make.

    Working on one of these carbs right now and my float pivot pin falls right out just by turning it on its side once the bowl is off... been having problems with fuel pouring out overflow nonstop. Cleaned all jets and put back in... then I found a little seal on the shop floor... not sure if it came out of carb somewhere or not... the inside of this pretty thick little seal looks like it's shaped like the float needle... but can't see it going in there anywhere

    • @TepcoCycleRepair
      @TepcoCycleRepair  10 місяців тому

      The pivot can fall out when the bowl is off, the bowl holds it in place. Does the tip of your float needle still have the rubber on it? If not it won't seal and leak everywhere. If you can't figure it out, send me a photo of the rubber part through the email on my about page.

    • @lonewoodsman00
      @lonewoodsman00 10 місяців тому

      @TepcoCycleRepair you're talking about the pointed rubber tip, correct? The pointed rubber coating is there on the float valve... it might be little worn, idk. But I don't think this little thick circular rubber washer or seal came out of carb. Watched few more rebuild videos and didn't see it in any of them, so idk where it came from

      @TepcoCycleRepair I will send you a pic though... the inside shape of the washer or seal is what has me.really wondering

    I know this may come off as a dumb question, but I got an Apollo 110cc and just wanted to pick your brain if running 4 stroke 10w-40 would be good for my bike or if there’s a better option to get

      Yes, that weight will be fine. It has a wet clutch so you want one that's JASO certified, if it says energy conserving or anything like that in the circle on the back of the bottle, they are not recommended because they can cause the clutch to slip. I use Rotella T4 I think it's 15w-40 which will be fine.

    • @andrewd2859
      @andrewd2859 2 роки тому

      @@TepcoCycleRepair I got me some good ol fashioned semi-synthetic Lucas oil, it doesn’t say for wet clutch tho.
      And thanks again man for replying back
      Never mind it does say that JASO on it. I’ll have to return it and get some of that Rotella instead

    What kind of HORRENDOUS fuel were they running through that?!?! I just pulled the carb apart after 4 years of use because it was starting to leak fuel and it looked brand new other than the one tiny little piece of debris that was keeping the float open.

      That's from water that gets attracted by ethanol. The green is from the brass oxidizing from the water, like the statue of Liberty.

    How did you reinstall the throttle needle with the little clip that comes with it ???

    • @TepcoCycleRepair
      @TepcoCycleRepair  3 роки тому +1

      I didn't touch the slide needle, it stayed with the top cap when I took it off. 3:07 if you want to take that out, you need to pull the spring up remove the cable then you can just push the slide needle up and it will push the retaining clip up with it. I have some other Honda carb videos with the same set up.

    Yeah that chynese rubber I believe lacks any UV protectant among other things. And what doesn’t deteriorate and crack will turn hard. Some of the bigger clone utvs, massimo, benneche, hisun , etc. use this cheap rubber and this shit connects the intake pipes and manifold and lucky if it last 5 years before cracking and failing. Same with aftermarket carb spigots. That’s one thing I go oem on if still available. I digress. Anyway nice job on the carb. I do similar except I use a hacksaw blade. Do you sometimes pressure test needle and seat?

    • @TepcoCycleRepair
      @TepcoCycleRepair  3 роки тому

      I don't, if I suspect needle and seat issues due to a visual inspection or symptoms, I just replace them to prevent returns. Thanks for watching.
