Nadia.. The little pieces you cut off mold or peal out of cup you can kind of chop up and put in center of next mold. Don't throw the pieces away. Silicone sticks to silicone so using them in another helps displace volume and you use less silicone. Really it will mesh together and does not make new mold weak. Just keep in bag to keep dust glitter off of it and use it again . So expensive and my friends makes molds and even if a mold does not turn out right or does not sell he chops them up an reuses them. Even if the silicone is different color. Hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙 great video
Thank you loads for sharing that. I have several total disasters which I was going to bin, but after reading your tip I'll now chop them up and reuse. As you say, this stuff is expensive.
Gourdhead22, I read your comment yesterday and put your advice to very good use today, can't thank you enough. Grateful for your suggestion, it worked perfectly x
Hi sweetheart 💖 Thanks for your beautiful video I always enjoy them 😊. And I want to tell you I love your nail polish 😍 ❤️ 💕 The colour is amazing 👏🏻 😍. With my best regards Rawa Styleresin 🌷
Those turned out great! Some will use a vacuum chamber to degass their silicone before they pour. This is good to do if your mold is quite deep and the bubbles have a few inches to get to the surface. Also, when you pour its better to pour in one spot, that way the silicone is pushing the air away rather than trapping it underneath. (did that make sense?😆) A way you can prevent flashing accumulating under your piece, is to roll out a thin layer of clay and push your piece down into it just enough to create a seal. That way the silicone can’t seep under. The clay needs to be sulphur free, sulphur could prevent the silicone rubber from setting up. If your piece is matte the mold will be matte, if it’s gloss the mold will gloss. Silicone will even pick up a fingerprints so, it’s a good idea to clean your piece really well and wear gloves. Robert Tolone has a great mold making channel. He usually does one piece cut molds, he’s quite a character😆 and he’s a wealth of great information. Thanks for another great video Nadia!
