    Been building Gunpla for a while and I wanted to try come car kits, so I ordered this one not realizing I needed to paint it. So this videos will be a great help, when the kit comes.

      Glad to be of assistance. I built Gunpla for many years as well. It is quite different going from Bandai's amazing molding and assembly to building cars and some of the really sketchy kits out there. lol. Tamiya is really good quality tho so you should have no issues.

    Really nice build. Having made the Fujimi version last year (which isn't a terrible kit) you can see improvements with this one. Cool to have a full engine too.

      The engine is nicely done and looks good when completed. Could use a little more detail but I am not too picky. I build the Fujimi convertable version many many years ago but don't really remember much about it except for the awesome BBS wheels it came with. I might have to pick one up again and give it a go.

    What wheels did you use here? I'm really struggling to find fitting wheels, the link in your description doesn't list any Tamiya wheels, can you recommend another brand that fits well? Thank you for the video! Real helpful

      The wheels used are from Aoshima and one of their individual rim sets. The inner hub of the rim which holds the polycap had to be ground down and then the rim was just glued directly to the brake disk. Unfortunately for wheels with pegs like Tamiya, you will have to find someone who does printed rims.

      @@ScaleAutoGarage Thank you! I was also curious what the point is of those black lines front and back when you start the body prep?

    • @ScaleAutoGarage
      @ScaleAutoGarage  7 місяців тому

      @@paatz04 when the bodies are moulded, there tends to be small raised lines where the mold pieces meet, usually a top and bottom part of the mold. You use a sharpie to go over those mold lines and then sand them to make them smooth. When you and to the point that there is no longer any sharpie mark then you know you have smoothed out the line.

    What kind of paint do you use for the headlights and tail lights?

    • @ScaleAutoGarage
      @ScaleAutoGarage  4 місяці тому

      For the clear colors, Tamiya offers clear paints and I use the red and orange from them on all tail lights and marker lights.

    Do u need to glue the parts on?

    • @ScaleAutoGarage
      @ScaleAutoGarage  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes, the parts do need to be glued together. You can use a model styrene glue or you can use a superglue, depending on your preference.

      @@ScaleAutoGarage thanks I got superglue
