I have my first wedding coming up in August, have to say I’m extremely nervous but very excited. I have been following your channel for a while, and I appreciate you and your content so much! If you are ever out towards the Asheville area need a second photographer I’m here! Thanks again for all the content John! 📸
Thank you for this helpful video. After researching over many social medias and not able to find the conclusive answer I am looking for regarding my slow Adobe AI Denoise runtime that takes 180sec/3min. (estimate 2.5min. but always take 3min.) I decided to do some test myself and here are the results I find on my old Intel i7-6700K with 32GB RAM, 1TB M.2 SSD, Asus Z170-A Motherboard with ISO 12,800 Sony 60MP compress RAW file: GTX1060 6GB GDDR5: 180sec./3min. RTX306012GB GDDR6: 33sec. RTX3060Ti 8GB GDDR6X: 26sec. RTX3070 8GB GDDR6: 24sec. Full Disk Cleanup is performed before and after each new video card installation and the average time is from five tests each. Though the RTX3070 8GB GDDR6 was only 2 seconds faster, the loading and preview calculating time were also a bit faster per image. I hope someone will benefit from my finding.
I wonder if software enhancements like this will push more people towards APS-C. All the benefits of a lighter setup and none of the worries about shooting in low light when you can just have the AI de-noise for you.
OOOOooOOooOoOOo that's a really good point I didn't even think of that. There's a HUGE amount of advantages to APS-C especially just talking about price. I think it would make sense for folks to switch over with the power of AI on their side.
What’s up JB? This AI de noise is amazing! I used it a few times on photos I just knew were too gone to be saved and WOW! Talk about an “Update” If you slide it too much of course you can tell, but all in all I love it.
Tbh I used it on some point and shoot photos from two shows on the Eras Tour and it made a world of difference 😂 3200 ISO on a P&S sensor from 2015 with AI DeNoise actually made them all usable. Very happy, haven’t even remotely tried it for my professional work. Saved me $200 buying PureRaw
I have the Fuji XH1. It’s pretty good at handling high ISO. But I remember my Nikon D610 that I never called shooting at high ISO noise because the high ISO it produced was a pleasing grain texture.
Hey man, Love your videos. I know this might be a silly question but I brought a camera that's shoots 25mp. I have some nice photos I want to enlarge. When I transfer the photos to the PC the dpi is 72 If I want to print a canvas 16x24 ( 40.5 x 61cm) would I make my settings on image size fit to custom and than width 16 and height 24 with a 300dpi to get the best photo print? Would I than do the same method for a smaller photo 7x5 Thanks in advance
I’m having an issue with one of my pictures. When I attempt to denoise I get an unknown error. The weird part is also when I go to crop the image it shows an entirely different image, but still allows me to crop the original picture. Does this sound like a Lightroom problem or an upload issue? Any help would be appreciated!
Anyone who has experience with editing .ARW pictures like this? (Shot on Sony A7iv). I get the notification 'Denoise is not currently compatible with this photo format', but I did shoot in RAW...
Please help! My Noise Reduction - Denoise is blocked out with a message: ! Denoise is not currently compatible with this photo format. I shoot with Olympus OM 1 with a 40-150mm Pro lens with a 2x converter.
@@jbivphotography I mean, it's not some crazy build but it should hold up. Overclocked i7-9700k, 64GB 3600MHz RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 1TB SN850X NVMe. Not sure what the next best upgrade would be.

Good luck, Scott! I'm sure you'll do wonderfully!
hey scott, just wanted to know how did it go!!
How did that wedding go and how many have you shot since then?

Thanks for sharing. This is super helpful!
This feature is a real game changer! I ❤ it!
Perfect timing. I just discovered this new LR feature. It saved my latest photos for a work project.
Johnny boy, your photos are gorgeous!

As a Nikon z shooter I’m moving into the Fuji system via the xt4
Bokeh
I am getting into photography and this is one of the biggest reasons I decided to go with APSC

Oh right, THIS is why I pay so much for Adobe
😂😂😂😂

used the new denoise AI for some concert photos taken at 6400-10000 ISO and they look awesome
It's honestly super impressive.
@@jbivphotography i was blown away.
Thank you!!! This save my last session 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
That’s awesome to hear!! Glad it worked out for you.
Good ALR informative video Thanks John.
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

It works so dang good. Excited to try out Capture One’s new AI as well.
I was really surprised at how well it did. I'll be using it more often myself.
I've used Denoise in Lightroom a couple of times, but have found it so slow. Topaz is so muck quicker and versatile.
because of his GPU
Great video, i would love to know what Mac you youse? im searching for some new gear :) greetings
I‘m also a Fuji Photographer. How high do you go with the ISO in a dark church with the xt5? Thank you John for your answer 😊
Awesome video! Thank you! Is it ok to save it as DNG file? 😅
I was worried about the noise in low light with my a7r4, now I can have the benefits of 61mp without the drawback of more noticeable noise!
Exactly. This feature is super awesome. I use it on my GFX 100 II ALL the time.
So you have to use it every time if needed? It’s not saved?
I also notice it removes the wormy/oil paint look on Fuji raw files even on base ISO!
Can this be done for the IOS version??

The new ai is really impressive
I'm a huge fan. This is REALLY going to come in handy for dark wedding ceremonies.
Does it matter if you adjust the exposure and colors before or after denoising?
It doesn't. I usually edit my photo first and then AI-denoise afterwards.
When I think of high ISO's I think of higher than the native high ISO… For example, my Nikon's highest is 3200 ISO but goes up to 12,800 ISO.
I’m having an issue with one of my pictures. When I attempt to denoise I get an unknown error. Is there a way to mass de noise photos?
Hello, can this be done on the ipad version?
Anyone who has experience with editing .ARW pictures like this? (Shot on Sony A7iv). I get the notification 'Denoise is not currently compatible with this photo format', but I did shoot in RAW...
Only compressed & uncompressed full size (L) image is supported. M & S are not supported at this time.
Hi John, may I know what PC or Laptop are you using?
I have an M1 Max MacBook Pro
@jbivphotography Thanks John. I was amazed by the 10 secs denoise. Mind blowing.
Does this work on LR in mobile ?
Is this gonna come to cc to?
I'm not sure. However they do try to have feature parity between CC and LR Classic.
Hello friend, is AI denoise only on lightroom classic?
I believe so. I haven't looked at Lightroom in awhile so I'm not very familiar.
will this work with Jpeg or just RAW? thank you
Only RAW 😮
I had the denoise buttion but it doesnt work for me anymore
Sometimes it depends on the photo file you're working with. Some of them can't be denoised.
How do we batch edit this?
If you select a group of images and then do the same steps it'll apply it to all photos.
Please help! My Noise Reduction - Denoise is blocked out with a message: ! Denoise is not currently compatible with this photo format. I shoot with Olympus OM 1 with a 40-150mm Pro lens with a 2x converter.
You can only use RAW files with ai denoise
LR says denoise not compatible with this photo fprmat. Shooting RAW... any thoughts? thanks
That happened to me as well. When I noticed it happening it was because Lightroom couldn't find the original files
@@jbivphotography OK that's interesting... Will check that out. Thanks so much for all your amazing videos!
Sombody got an idean how i get the denoise button binded to the Loupdeck+? cant figure out how i get it done
OOOOOOOOO that would be awesome. I’m not sure that you can because of the way the Denise button works.
only works with raw?
I would assume it works with jpegs as well. However I haven't personally tried it out myself.
I can’t use AI Denoise it says my photos aren’t in the right format how do I fix this
You have to shoot in raw format to use the AI Denoise option. It's not working with Jpgs. Hope that helps :)
1600 is not bad
It’s not. I hate pushing my ISO too high.
Has anyone printed a photo after using the ai Denoise filter?
I haven't personally but looking at the quality of the photos I think it wouldn't make a big difference in the print.
10 seconds?! Mine takes around 8 minutes 😢
WOAH. 8 minutes is long. I'm assuming you have an older computer?

Would you denoise first before adding any presets?
Yes. Denoise first and then edit your photos.
@@jbivphotography ok. I was hitting auto first then denoise… but this makes a lot of sense. Thansk
damn.
bro are you not editing your own photos anymore?
??? I am. All of the photos in this video are my own. I’m not sure I understand this comment….
Am I the only one who’s Lightroom tells me Denoise isn’t compatible with any photo I try to edit ?!?!
I think it depends on the file type.
That image clean up looks like a tailors dummy, totally unreal
topaz is faaar more better..... try n reply...
I haven't tried it out yet, but I do love the fact that I can have some better denoising right inside of Lightroom.
Making an AI image wastes energy, ? on line AI image same as charging a phone. Lets use it only for non trivial studies, not for silly selfies!
Or you could just actually learn how to properly expose your photos instead of being a lazy photographer.😱
they need to make it more adjustable after denoising and 10% and 90% are still too similar and smoothed out.
