    plot twist: it's empty and you don't actually play violin

    Nice video. They used to tell us to carefully heat a knife and hold it against the crack in the rosin, to melt the pieces back together. There is probably a better way these days. Also, you may want to consider an extra iPad charging cable/extension cord and page turner charging cable to keep in the tote bag as you carry less music.

      thank you! oh yes, I've also heard of using a hair dryer to try to melt the rosin back together! just have not gotten around to it I guess :..). those are also great ideas, although I must say my iPad battery is pretty impressive so far, and my friends who use the Donner page turner say they charge it once every few weeks (if at all), which is awesome!

      @@SophieCViolin Yes of course. Hair dryer sounds like a much better idea!

    Thank you. I have wondered for a while now whether or not violinists wear ear protection while practicing. The instrument is so close to your ears, and I imagine you do need to practice loud sometimes. Many years ago, I played electric bass guitar in a band and used high-quality custom made re-usable earplugs, I'm so glad I did.
    The humidifier tube and page turner you mentioned are also great tips.

      so glad you found it helpful! I know a few people who invest in expensive and personalized ear plugs, and hearing health is something I really need to look into more haha. that's great you took care of your hearing since high school!

    Tbh I freaked out when I saw that rosin! On another note, you should make.a string comparison video, or maybe your opinion on different different strings at different price points.

      me too 😭my poor rosin did not ask for that. that's a good idea! If I ever happen to have multiple sets and lots of time to tune, I'd love to make a video like that :)

    I have the same violin case in white colour with red stitches inside 🙌🏻 And my inner pouch zipper got broke after a month of using it . I claimed it they sent me the Newer version of inner pouch for free . If yours is not too old you can claim it too !

    My viola case does the same thing, where it falls closed really easily! I accidentally came across a fix for it though. As decoration I hung a small stuffed animal with a clip on one of the zippers (but you could use one of the backpack-rings). I realized I could take it off when I open the case, and put it underneath the case in the front. That lifts the case up juuust enough that the lid doesn't fall closed anymore, but the case also doesn't fall over backwards. And when I'm done I just clip it back on the zipper and it's decoration again!

    Im also wondering... Why most or majority female violinist show whats in their violin case than male violinist, i estimated that 90% of the female Violinist show whats in their Violin case that males 10%.... why?????? This phenomena is kinda weird.... Can someone explain this to me?🤨🤔🙄

    • @SophieCViolin
      @SophieCViolin  2 роки тому +3

      hahaha actually now that I think of it, I have not seen any male violinists make a video like this! this is only my theory, but I think it is because the "what's in my violin case" bag came from another trend common to (mostly) female youtubers like "what's in my purse" or "what's in my hospital bag" etc etc. so this video is a type of variation of those videos. hope that makes sense!
