    I was thinking for the Hydra Zord maybe something like "roll 2 dice, deal 2 damage to targets equal to the number of hits" to call on the multi-head aspect of the hydra. Or maybe something about if you take damage add dice equal to the damage to the next attack to tap into the whole "cut off one head and two grow back" theme of they hydra.
    I dunno; maybe that'd make it TOO overpowered.

      I like that “2 dice to do X damage to X targets” idea. Maybe instead of 2 damage it’s 1 to targets equal to the roll. But then if you roll all misses, do 2 damage to 1 target (just so it does something 😅). Very cool!

    It’s important to note that if you play 2 player or 3 palaver/6 ranger it works differently to solo. Any ability that says “you” applies to all cards in your hand. Also you can select yourself for any cards that say “another ranger”. So if you use her and MM Green Loner it makes for one heck of a team!

    • @homegamerdad
      @homegamerdad  Рік тому +1

      In solo mode, cards that say “you” only apply to that Ranger’s cards. For example: if I play a pink ranger card that says “you can play another card”, then I can only play another pink ranger card. On the other side, if I play a pink ranger card that says “another ranger can play a card”, then I can NOT play a pink ranger card. Either way, MMPR Green’s Loner ability is fantastic is solo mode.

      @@homegamerdad oh yea in solo but when you were talking about Vesper’s ability in the beginning it sounds like you said combined ranger decks from these other two modes worked that way. So I was just clarifying in case you didn’t know that. I know we recently had a big debate about that in the group with Jonathan coming to clear it up lol

    ERRATA: Vesper Vasquez character ability should read: “Cry Havoc: If there are 4 or more enemy figures in your
    location, reduce the energy cost of all of your cards by 1.
    Hades Technique cant be used if you beat Everything as the battle would end, its a max of 3 energy in a "normal" minion battle.
    HF Blue/green "grapple" cards Stay on the Enemy card till the end of the battle not till there Defeated.
    Resolving the card does not put it into your discard for you to select itself, it just mean you have Rolled and locked in dice and done dmg then use the card effect then send it to the grave.

      I had to look that one up about Vesper, seemed like a BIG change to her ability and yet no cards were sent to replace it. Low and behold, an only FAQ page DOES stater 4 or more figures instead of 3. Does any have the properly printed card? I’d like to know if that exists and how to get one so I don’t mess up later (I’ve already filmed the session, but I don’t think it mattered at all).
      For Hades Technique, are you sure? It’s technically a valid Ranger move that can be used at the end of battle. I think if the Ranger can do something, then they should be able to if they choose to.
      You’ll have to direct me to where it says that for blue and green for their “attach” cards. I could swear that end of battle or when a card is defeated, that’s when it detaches. Why would you continue to hold onto an enemy after it’s been defeated? Lol that’s just how I see it.
      Thank you!

      @@homegamerdad you have to ask for the Card fix on Black I think Email Renegade? (I got mine so long ago I forgot same as Hyper Red)
      Hades Technique. I'm sure when all Enemy cards are Defeated the battle end there are no Extra turns, as there is only 4 minions you can only ever have 3 beat to use the card as when you beat the 4th there is no more turns.
      Even if you beat all 4 in 1 turn you don't get 3 more turns it just ends.
      Attached cards are in the rules blue and Green both came in.
      (When you attach a combat card to an enemy card, slide the attached card partway under the enemy card, making sure that its effect text remains visible. There is no limit to the number of combat cards that can be attached to a single enemy card at the same time.
      At the end of each battle, all combat cards that are attached to enemy cards are placed in the corresponding Ranger discard piles.

      Resolving the card does not put it into your discard for you to select itself, it just mean you have Rolled and locked in dice and done dmg then use the card effect then send it to the grave.

      @@homegamerdad there was some that came in Errata pack #2 but I can’t recall what it was off the top of my head. I think it had some for Hyperforce Pink at least?

      @@TIVIS014 yeah, I had her errata card. It made her Accelerate card worth zero energy instead of 1. Also Marv’s Find Weakness card mistakenly had Reaction on it, that was fixed in an earlier errata pack to Maneuver.

      Just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding, in order to use the attached card's ability, the enemy card must resolve and it's ability must take effect first correct?

  • @SeanUCF

    I found Marvin (the red ranger) to be very underwhelming. This game is all about working against the clock, both in battle, so you don't take damage, and on the main game board so it doesn't become panicked. Wasting turns with maneuvers that don't perform an attack or allow you to immediately follow up with an attack put you behind the curve and just don't seem to be worthwhile in a game like this.
    His only bright spot seemed to be his 3 energy attack since it has the potential to do 6-12 damage, especially when combined with his zord.

    • @homegamerdad
      @homegamerdad  10 місяців тому

      There’s potential for Marvin, but he along with the other Hyper Force rangers, can be tough to play. They suffer from being developed so early in the game’s life time, each with abilities that are done better by more current rangers.
      Marvin in particular I think tries to be too supportive to the point of him not being efficient in battle. But I’m sure there are games that used him VERY well.

      I haven't gotten around to the later sets yet, but so many of his cards are "set up" cards that I actually questioned if I was playing the game right b/c I was starting to wonder if playing a maneuver card would allow you to play an attack card immediately afterward. It's unfortunate that he (and blue hyperforce) aren't very good b/c the black ranger from hyperforce seems really powerful. I am looking forward to seeing how rangers from later sets perform. Would be pretty cool if they did update patches to some of the earlier characters if there are some that could be given a power boost because I'm assuming later sets probably also have tougher villains.

      Most teams are about that, yes. But HyperForce has some of the most efficient defensive cards in the game, and a ton of energy gen, which allows them to make HUGE plays in the endgame to make up for that 'lost time'. Find Weakness 'does nothing' on its own, but by giving you +1 energy and +2 damage, that's 3 extra damage on a Blade Blaster - to say nothing of what it does on HyperForce Pink's Hurricane Kick or Hyperion Scythe, where that +2 damage ends up effectively giving you +4! Likewise, Python Grab looks bad on a card that does a single attack, but can end up saving the team a ton of damage on AoE attacks or multi-hit attacks... like Drakkon specializes in.
      They've also got a really powerful MegaZord that lets you consistently play your best combos, a ton of stuff that puts cards from discard back into hand or deck, and lots of attacks that do AoE and help spread damage over a ton of targets. It takes a little more planning ahead, but I find them one of the easiest teams to win with consistently.

      And if your cross worlds. Snake eyes and Marv would like each other. Marv has a crap roll. Snake eyes can take those misses to do 3 damage to any other card then use his zord to make all those misses hits

    I just got these rangers and played a three ranger game with Red, Black. Yellow and it was the hardest game ive played to date, really struggled.
    How would i use this team better? Should i try another combination of these rangers? My biggest conplaints were two fold:
    1. I couldnt reroll any dice which was a huge pain
    2. I could deal enough damage fast enough, red was probably the most underwhelming.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    • @homegamerdad
      @homegamerdad  8 місяців тому +1

      Hyper Force is definitely one of the harder teams to use. Mainly because they were released so early, that their powers are done better by later teams.
      In any case, I suggest running black & pink with either blue or yellow. I’m not a fan of Marv, even though he does have some good support abilities. You still won’t have reroll, but you’ll have other methods to doing damage. You can also switch out Zords that you like better.
      Hope that helps, let me know how future games go!
