Technically, Magolor was killed…it’s just that he was immediately resurrected afterwards by the Master Crown, which then proceeded to possess his body and corrupt it into a more twisted form.
I love how HAL has filled up Magolor's storyline, especially the end 1:12:54 . The reaction when Magolor finally defeat the crown, found the exit of this chaotic dimension and was able to return home is touching update: OMG WTF IS THAT TMS

For me it's the best final boss of a Kirby game. It has a lot of positive points: 1. Good difficulty: not so easy and not unfair difficult 2. A Lore that links other Kirby games 3. The most epic soundtrack for a boss in the entire series 4. The threat that represents on its own , star dream even could return to life various Kirby villains 5. Unique mechanic to confront a final boss 6. A final attack wich can kill the player 7. A lot of phases
Fun fact: Everything that happens in Forgotten Land happens in the main timeline. Meaning that unlike the other true final bosses which are alternate universes caused by what if scenarios Chaos Elfilis actually occurred in the main universe thus making it the first soul boss to actually be part of the main continuity.
@@Grooverguy26274 With KRTDL it's debatable whether the EX mode is canon or not. Since both it and the main storyline generally follow the same plot. So my best guess is the main game is the abridged version while the EX mode is the true version that adds to the story. But it's really debatable. It is also implied that Kirby's encounter with Galacta Knight may have been possible as Magolor hinted at it during the story.
@@warioland523 In magolor epilogue at the intro you can see that it wasn't the purple hoodie magolor one but rather the one in the ex mode so imo final arenas are canon as we saw in kirby super star ultra you fight galacta knight in the arena but it didn't actually happen it was just there for a challenge but what was canon is that marx soul was canon and it prolly happened in the story mode too but they skipped it so they maked true arenas.
True Magolor’s Soul truly is chilling. Even with the small difference: Magolor’s eyes are GONE, leaving only that eye in the mouth. Clearly, whatever you’re fighting now…isn’t even Magolor anymore…it’s just the Master Crown. And it wants Kirby DEAD. Maybe they should have called that new final boss “Magolor Soulless” or something like that…

I beat the True Arena on my first try with plasma & I gotta say, this arena is a contender for the top 3 hardest alongside Star Allies & possibly Forgotten Land/Robobot. 21 bosses is INSANE by kirby standards & the surprise third battle against Magolor is one hell of a fight that WILL trip up newcomers & veterans alike. Note: Magolor originally wears the crown on his head. During phase 2 in the story, his head is flipped upside down & the crown is actually where his neck is supposed to be. The crown's tendrils have wrapped around his head to prevent removal. Magolor's eyes fade out in the 2nd phase of the True Arena to signify that he's no longer repressing the crown's power. I never expected to see the crown get a drastic boost in persistence, character, & difficulty. The devs did a fantastic job.
I generally hate when True Arenas are padded by bloat Superstar Ultra and the original RtD were always my favorites because they're hard but not bullshit and I feel like unless you're cheesing with spark/tornado/leaf/sand/stone this new true arena is kinda bullshit. At least it's better than Triple Deluxe and Robobot though.
@@Magic_Ice The boss endurance from Amazing Mirror is ridiculously easy by normal arena standards. You cant unlock it unless you have 100% on the save file, meaning you have 10 health before you lose. With 4 maxim tomatoes, kirby essentially has 36 hits before the Dark meta knight fight. You can call the other kirbys to get 3 additional health (making it 39 hits). You get the master ability before you fight dark mind's 2nd phase & mirror kirby will keep generating more through the fight. Tou are simply given too many hits that soften your margin of error in a game where some of the most dumb abilities are present. Hammer up+attack wastes most bosses in that game so fast. Or you can use smash's hammer + stone. Master is also completely broken for the dark mind fight. You can retry as much as you want in FL. But it doesnt have abilities that are as ridiculously overtuned when you compare what the bosses are capable off when ahainst hammer or smash on amazing mirror. It's crazy to think about imo.

I'm assuming the "experiment" is fecto Elfilis, which is wrong. It's an alien entity that was captured and experimented on, not the product of an experiment.

Funny story. I fought Chaos Elfilis with tornado, and that made for an intense fight that was insanely nerve wracking. After it was all said and done my legs decided that it's time for bed.
Magalors new boss is the definition of a soul boss but his original version on the Wii felt too easy. Also at this point the way to consider a secret final boss in the Kirby games good is if it has: A bouncy ball attack A black hole attack A giant fireball attack A Cresent blade attack
I'll be honest, when facing Magolor Soul on the original for the first time, I died countless times because of some things I didn't know you could do. There was nothing that screamed easy, on default mode, maybe.
it's a common attack for a lot of soul bosses and some others, like a lot of others attack, the "paint" rain, the black hole, the list goes on, as long with the list of which boss have it (drawcia, marx, magolor...)
Most of the fireballs would rather go flying around the arena cutting into the fray, but Sectonia's is different... she bounces herself outside the arena in a bunny hopping way before trying to slam Kirby... Chaos Elfilis however doesn't try to target the player but he'll be far bloody harder if its allowed to
My major issue with the original return to dreamland was how Magolor’s soul was too easy and basically not very well hidden for a “secret boss”. But seeing true magolor soul at the end of the deluxe version is making me rethink my decision on not buying it. Maybe I’ll give it a second chance in a new console
I think Magolor’s first phase is too easily personally which sucks because conceptually he’s my favorite final boss and villain in the series. Even Magolor EX is uninteresting as the only notable buff is his attack speed. Was really hoping Deluxe revised his battle and made it stronger.
Ok, I am thoroughly in love with the remake, new content centered Magolor and now, seeing Magolor Soul DX, he is one hard Soul Boss, harder than Chaos Elfilis, Star Dream Soul OS and Soul of Sectonia! And seeing how Magolor Soul DX shuts Magolor's white eyes, I'm guessing the Master Crown has suppressed any form of Magolor from its form and goes all out, similar to Star Dream Soul OS' heart phase, in the phase 2 of it. Edit:Also, look at the "core" of Another Dimension, it looks like Void termina's core/Void Soul those textures remind me of the two a lot!
It's likely because the master crown is connected to Void Termina who I'm fact does make the full master crown appears in some Void Termina's attacks. It also seems like the master crown is connected to Dark matter and Zero as well considering Magalor's mouth has Dark Matter's eye and further shows than when the Master Crown fully takes over Magalor.
@@hour236 That's not magolor's mouth. That is the top of his head before his horns. Flip magolor soul upside down & it's just his head with the crown fastened around his neck with golden tendrils running to his horns to prevent removal. It's signifies a reversal of roles. Hw was wearing the crown initially, but then it has gotten reversed. His drape & body gets split into wings. His head turns upside down. Just look at the crown when it possessed the apple gem seed and transmuted it into a tree. It runs tendrils through it to prevent removal & bends some of the fauna to create makeshift wings. Lastly, when magolor soul goes into phase 2 in the true arena, Magolor's normal eyes close, an apple is thrown at the ground, and there's much down time before it begins attacking. Magolor finally has his mind bent under the crown's control.
Chaos elfilis was the first true arena final boss I was able to beat, and I gotta say, that fight was very fun, like really really fun, still my proudest moment honestly
Well Landia was slightly controlled because Landia's eyes change color when the master crown is taken off them. They just had more will power to resist falling to the power of the Master Crown. We were still tricked into getting it off them but they were controlled some. Just nowhere near as much as Magalor.
@@hour236 actually no, Tye crown only controls you if you have darkness in your heart, and Landia is pure of heart in RTDL and thus was not controlled by it unlike Magolor. However, Landia in super kirby clash was controlled by the Crown in that game though
Every single Kirby game adds something new, like for forgotten land, it was mouth full mode, Kirby star allies, friend hearts etc, I wonder what the next one will be
There is 3 thing all this bosses share 1 amazing designs 2 all appear in a true arena 3 really good songs also imagine a Kirby game where it is just a true arena but every boss is there in multiple sections and than one ultimate challenge of every boss one after another with no heals
@@dry4smash946 Void doesn’t have phases (when I refer to void, I’m not including void termina) and just rewatched the boss battle, void doesn’t teleport, it sometimes goes off screen but never teleports.
I have a theory that the reason Magalor soul exists its because after kirby beat magalor In the base game he left a bit of his soul and I also think the crown was made with a bit of dark mater but over time the dark matter grew and grew so long story short the peace of the soul maglor left got corrupted by dark matter and eventually the dark matter made a memory of maglor transformation after losing control and now its just plain dark matter
I hope they will make a remake of triple deluxe with a more difficult version of sectonia. She is by far my favorite boss in the kirby franchise and I think she is way too easy
It's such a neat detail that you can hear Haltmann screaming in pain every time you destroy one of the pylons near Stardreams heart and as Stardream dies you can hear a distorted version of his scream.
While Magolor Soul's bossfight in the OG RTDL was cool if a bit tragic with pause screen lore and all, the remaster just makes it...tragic. When you first get his HP down he gives you a healing apple before his white eyes vanish completely and his attacks get extra aggressive. Even the music becomes sadder and filled with Magolor's cries. Something tells me this is meant to be more of an sad ending than a happy one for our blue-eared mage...
I like how, while some of these bosses can be pretty damn difficult, you can just cheese through them with mechanics the devs intended. Exhibit A and B: Stone and Gigant Sword copy abilities.
The magolor soul battle still chills me. It’s like you can just hear magalor screaming every attack as if begging for it to stop and like he’s in pain…
Guys. Is it me or is the improved Magolor soul is kinda referencing the unfair boss fight of himself mod from others? Like the spike thorns and plasma beams and stuff? Because I understand they make it even harder but does this mean HAL is gonna make a new surprise for us this year ?
It would be really cool if there was a remastered type version of triple deluxe since triple deluxe is already a really good game and it would be awesome if they gave the attacks of the bosses and enemy's have better effects since triple deluxe was released in 2014
When I got Return to Dreamland Deluxe, I was already aware of the secret 'Magolor Soul Boss'. What I did not expect was for the secret boss to gain a secret phase. I started shitting bricks when the eye took over

Phase 2 from True Arena is essentialy the Master Crown fully taking control and pushing down what little of Magolor was left, shown by his eyes disappearing and leaving the Zero-like eye mouth as the only facial feature
I remember me and my brother trying to beat the true arena in krtdl deluxe and him telling me about magalors new attacks based on sand and mecha. Magalor was nearly dead, but we hadn't seen any of magalors new attacks, nor any of his super attacks. Thats when it clicked: magalor soul had a SECOND PHASE. Thankfully we were able to beat him, but u felt my heart DROP in the moment.
the first time i beat the boss of Kirby planet Robobot i got killed when he sent red rays 40 minutes in the void just because the boss has a final attack when you beat him
I love how Star Dream soul is the longest boss fight in all the final arenas,which makes him even the most stressful one,he have 4 fucking phases if we include the mini phases during the boss fights,there are more than 10 phases

But mostly due to Halberd's low attack making the fights very drawn out.

Funny story. I fought Chaos Elfilis with tornado, and that made for an intense fight that was insanely nerve wracking. After it was all said and done my legs decided that it's time for bed.

Magalors new boss is the definition of a soul boss but his original version on the Wii felt too easy.
Also at this point the way to consider a secret final boss in the Kirby games good is if it has:
A bouncy ball attack
A black hole attack
A giant fireball attack
A Cresent blade attack

I'll be honest, when facing Magolor Soul on the original for the first time, I died countless times because of some things I didn't know you could do. There was nothing that screamed easy, on default mode, maybe.
You gotta love that for a “wholesome children’s game” all the final bosses are somewhat terrifying

it's a common attack for a lot of soul bosses and some others, like a lot of others attack, the "paint" rain, the black hole, the list goes on, as long with the list of which boss have it (drawcia, marx, magolor...)
I did not know that the fire ball attack that all soul bosses use (except the two tricksters) were the same
Most of the fireballs would rather go flying around the arena cutting into the fray, but Sectonia's is different... she bounces herself outside the arena in a bunny hopping way before trying to slam Kirby... Chaos Elfilis however doesn't try to target the player but he'll be far bloody harder if its allowed to

Soul of Sectonia and Nova were a literal nightmare to defeat including all of the other souls
My major issue with the original return to dreamland was how Magolor’s soul was too easy and basically not very well hidden for a “secret boss”.
But seeing true magolor soul at the end of the deluxe version is making me rethink my decision on not buying it. Maybe I’ll give it a second chance in a new console

The original definitely didn't really feel like aa actual soul boss, but the new version truely does feel like it earned to title.
Calling the original Magolor Soul a "secret boss" is kind of stupid.
It's the final boss of extra mode. It's not a surprise fight in the arena.
I think Magolor’s first phase is too easily personally which sucks because conceptually he’s my favorite final boss and villain in the series. Even Magolor EX is uninteresting as the only notable buff is his attack speed. Was really hoping Deluxe revised his battle and made it stronger.

Ok, I am thoroughly in love with the remake, new content centered Magolor and now, seeing Magolor Soul DX, he is one hard Soul Boss, harder than Chaos Elfilis, Star Dream Soul OS and Soul of Sectonia! And seeing how Magolor Soul DX shuts Magolor's white eyes, I'm guessing the Master Crown has suppressed any form of Magolor from its form and goes all out, similar to Star Dream Soul OS' heart phase, in the phase 2 of it.
Edit:Also, look at the "core" of Another Dimension, it looks like Void termina's core/Void Soul those textures remind me of the two a lot!
It's likely because the master crown is connected to Void Termina who I'm fact does make the full master crown appears in some Void Termina's attacks. It also seems like the master crown is connected to Dark matter and Zero as well considering Magalor's mouth has Dark Matter's eye and further shows than when the Master Crown fully takes over Magalor.

@@hour236 That's not magolor's mouth. That is the top of his head before his horns. Flip magolor soul upside down & it's just his head with the crown fastened around his neck with golden tendrils running to his horns to prevent removal.
It's signifies a reversal of roles. Hw was wearing the crown initially, but then it has gotten reversed. His drape & body gets split into wings. His head turns upside down.
Just look at the crown when it possessed the apple gem seed and transmuted it into a tree. It runs tendrils through it to prevent removal & bends some of the fauna to create makeshift wings.
Lastly, when magolor soul goes into phase 2 in the true arena, Magolor's normal eyes close, an apple is thrown at the ground, and there's much down time before it begins attacking. Magolor finally has his mind bent under the crown's control.

Chaos elfilis was the first true arena final boss I was able to beat, and I gotta say, that fight was very fun, like really really fun, still my proudest moment honestly

Landia wasn’t controlled. We were tricked into fighting the dragon to get the crown away from them.

Well Landia was slightly controlled because Landia's eyes change color when the master crown is taken off them. They just had more will power to resist falling to the power of the Master Crown. We were still tricked into getting it off them but they were controlled some. Just nowhere near as much as Magalor.

@@hour236 actually no, Tye crown only controls you if you have darkness in your heart, and Landia is pure of heart in RTDL and thus was not controlled by it unlike Magolor.
However, Landia in super kirby clash was controlled by the Crown in that game though
The transition from void termina to chaos elfilis was pretty slick

Every single Kirby game adds something new, like for forgotten land, it was mouth full mode, Kirby star allies, friend hearts etc, I wonder what the next one will be
There is 3 thing all this bosses share 1 amazing designs 2 all appear in a true arena 3 really good songs also imagine a Kirby game where it is just a true arena but every boss is there in multiple sections and than one ultimate challenge of every boss one after another with no heals
And teleportation, don't forget teleportation

@@dry4smash946 Void doesn’t have phases (when I refer to void, I’m not including void termina) and just rewatched the boss battle, void doesn’t teleport, it sometimes goes off screen but never teleports.
I have a theory that the reason Magalor soul exists its because after kirby beat magalor In the base game he left a bit of his soul and I also think the crown was made with a bit of dark mater but over time the dark matter grew and grew so long story short the peace of the soul maglor left got corrupted by dark matter and eventually the dark matter made a memory of maglor transformation after losing control and now its just plain dark matter
I hope they will make a remake of triple deluxe with a more difficult version of sectonia. She is by far my favorite boss in the kirby franchise and I think she is way too easy

It's such a neat detail that you can hear Haltmann screaming in pain every time you destroy one of the pylons near Stardreams heart and as Stardream dies you can hear a distorted version of his scream.
They really cranked up the magalor difficulty

Magolor Soul Deluxe looks to be even stronger than he was before, He uses the Two NEW Abilities from the game
While Magolor Soul's bossfight in the OG RTDL was cool if a bit tragic with pause screen lore and all, the remaster just makes it...tragic. When you first get his HP down he gives you a healing apple before his white eyes vanish completely and his attacks get extra aggressive. Even the music becomes sadder and filled with Magolor's cries. Something tells me this is meant to be more of an sad ending than a happy one for our blue-eared mage...
I like how, while some of these bosses can be pretty damn difficult, you can just cheese through them with mechanics the devs intended.

There's the old/regular Magolor Soul from the original game and Deluxe's Extra Mode, and there's the revamped True Arena version in Deluxe.

Phase 2 from True Arena is essentialy the Master Crown fully taking control and pushing down what little of Magolor was left, shown by his eyes disappearing and leaving the Zero-like eye mouth as the only facial feature
I remember me and my brother trying to beat the true arena in krtdl deluxe and him telling me about magalors new attacks based on sand and mecha. Magalor was nearly dead, but we hadn't seen any of magalors new attacks, nor any of his super attacks. Thats when it clicked: magalor soul had a SECOND PHASE. Thankfully we were able to beat him, but u felt my heart DROP in the moment.
Can't wait for the next kirby game when the secret final boss fight takes a full hour to complete

Actually the attack goes through most forms of invisibility, outside of ESP's dodge I think. You have to actually dodge it to not get hit
