There was a very sweet scene in the beginning that was deleted. When the Durselys were leaving Dudley shook Harry's hand. It didn't remotely make up for all the abuse over the years but it was touching nevertheless that after Harry saved his life from the Dementors Dudley finally accepted him as his brother.
It’s funny I watched the version on Paramount + and it had all of those scenes put back in. I got confused that I was out of sync or they weren’t commenting on these scenes.
@@clamchowder622 it bothered me that Hedwig was in her cage when she got killed ... couldn't even defend herself.....Her death in the movie although hurtful was better because she could defend herself and Harry
@chrisantony6218 I never considered that, but Harry was dumb for not letting her fly with them. If you're flying somewhere, why bring your highly intelligent owl friend in a cage? Hedwig had proven herself as a true and loyal companion, and shouldn't have been trapped in a cage during that dangerous trip.
Possibly the best paragraph in all the books: "And then with a little shudder the elf became quite still, and his eyes were nothing more than great glassy orbs, sprinkled with light from the stars they could not see." My then 16 year old daughter and I were each reading this book the night it came out (we picked ours up at midnight) - I was about 50 pages ahead of her. I knew she had reached this when she quietly closed the book, went to the washroom, and didn't come out for 30 minutes.
❤️✨❤️ This was possibly the hardest, most tender part of the whole story. I was reading this part at work close to my lunch break and I had to rush to the washroom where rivers of quiet tears and sobs just came and came. Love to Dobby “ALWAYS” ❤️❤️❤️
The one Death Eater who looks like a Wolf is Fenrir Greyback. They never really delve into his character in the movies, but in the books he’s a Werewolf and the one who bit and infected Professor Lupin.
The scene where Hermione removes herself to protect her parents both in the film and the book is so underplayed. Can you imagine the strength it must take to do something like that?
The thing about Draco is this: he’s not “a good guy after all.” He’s not. He’s a jerk. But that doesn’t make him a killer. As Dumbledore says in the book, killing is not nearly so easy as the innocent believe.” He just wanted to look like a tough guy, he didn’t have it in him to straight up murder someone.
Draco isn't a good guy, but he isn't really a bad one either (unlike his aunt). He was the spoiled elitist he was raised by his father to be, without thinking much about it. By the time he stated really thinking about right and wrong and who he wanted to be, he was already in too deep, and stepping out of line could cost the lives of his entire family. And no, he wasn't tough enough to stand up in spite of that. But few people are.
@@hildajensen6263 i agree. i feel like he was very misunderstood and being raised into a family who wanted power and was destined to join the dark side, he had no other choice. looking back and watching the movies, it makes me feel like draco just wanted to be accepted and to have friends like harry did. he wanted to be himself and follow his own path but wasn't able to. and watching him grow though the movies, he saw what was happening is wrong, he wanted to leave and not be a part of it but didn't, like you said, he didn't want to cross the line and cost him and his entire family to be at stake with voldemort. in the scene where harry tries to grab draco's wand, you can see draco giving up and letting harry take his wand, in a way to let them escape and get somewhere safe. the little things like that, shows how much draco doesn't want to be evil and doesn't want to hurt anyone.
Actually there is sadly a deleted scene from the yard in hogwarts during the fight and when Harry cannot reach his wand Draco grabs it then throws it to Harry for him to kill voldermort . They should have left it in.
He kept trying to kill Dumbledore by other means. But there are those 2 scenes where we do see that Draco has a heart. When he sees Katie Bell and runs to the washroom he is crying. And after the dead bird is sent back in the Vanishing Cabinet, we see his horrified expression and can hear him crying. His father did mistreat him but his mother was extremely loving. I think that kept Draco from being a carbon copy of Lucius.
@@sorryimananti-romantic7513 yeah that's where the movie took liberties and portrayed him very differently than the original book version. Draco Malfoy is not a good person, and no he isn't pulled between his own path and what his family needed him to be. He's a Malfoy through and through. His beliefs are the same as the family's. The only reason he seems not on board with Voldy is because Lucius lost favor. If Lucius never screwed up with the diary and the ministry-prophecy debacle and remained in good standing, Draco would be crowing for muggleborns to be subjugated and lording over everyone else. But alas Lucius fucked up and as a major coward, Draco got scared. And even then he never let Harry take his wand, Harry just overpowered him.
The book is so much more devastating. When reading the HP books, you actually learn what Harry is thinking. When he was digging the grave for Dobby, Harry`s thoughts were so unbelievably sad that I couldn`t stop crying. The tears kept coming and coming. It was one of the saddest and deepest moments in the book, which I remember very vividly.
I remember reading it when it first came out. I was 14 and devastated. I had to take a small break from reading the rest because I was genuinely heartbroken
In the books, while Ron is gone from the trio he overhears people talking about the taboo. During the first wizarding war, Voldemort managed to leverage assets within the ministry to place a taboo on his name. A taboo is a charm that makes it so when a word is spoken, it breaks all but the most powerful of enchantments in the area and alerts certain people of the location it was spoken. This is, among other reasons, why nearly everyone was always terrified to say Voldemort's name, even after his first downfall. The taboo was removed when the ministry regained its footing, but when Voldemort got back into power and took over the ministry, the taboo was put back. Ron overhears people talking about it, and he lets Harry and Hermione know once he returns. This is why when Xenophilius Lovegood says Voldemort it alerts the death eaters of the location. it's also how the two death eaters found them after they disaperated from the wedding.

They asked for no spoilers and I made this comment bc it spoils part of the books. Fun fact: the actor who plays Ron’s older brother Bill Weasley is the actual son of the actor who plays MadEye Moody. It makes him being the one to say “MadEye is dead” that much more poignant as the actor is his father.
In the book, Wormtail hesitated and considered helping Harry, when Harry reminded him of how he spared his life in book 3 and because of the guilt he felt for having betrayed Harry's parents to Voldermort. Because of this, the silver hand that Voldermort gave Wormtail, strangled him to death as Harry and Ron tried to save him. He doesn't get knocked out by Dobby from behind.
Well said, I was trying to relay that to a couple other reactors a while back and for the life of me could not remember the moment that was considered sparing his life… ugh I’m not that bright sometimes, mostly when I need to be most 🤪
Yeah, I remember a scene when Harry was talking to Dumbledore about how Harry had done something for Wormtail, maybe spared him from something? Dumbledore seemed to insinuate that Wormtail may feel indebted to Harry. I believe that’s why he hesitated in the book and the silver hand punished him by killing him.
@@elizabethbertucci9313 It always reminds me of Gandalf saying that it was good that Gollum was spared, because it's an act of grace, and because he might play his role before the end.
I just hope you are *ready* for Part 2… and that you appreciate the enormous amount of restraint it takes for most of us to not point out things and give any spoilers!
Wormtail's death is one thing I wish they'd kept in the film. Instead of being stunned by Dobby in the dungeon scene, in the book Wormtail actually catches Harry before he can escape and instead of killing him right away he hesitates after Harry reminded him of the debt he owed him for not turning him to the Dementors back in Prisoner of Azkaban. Because of this Wormtail was actually strangled to death by the silver hand Voldemort had given him after interpreting his hesitancy for treason. That was probably the most meaningful scene his character had and it's a bit sad that they completely changed it in the movie.
Yeah like I always felt even in the books that wormtail was way too one dimensional for who he is that I can’t imagine him being that close friends with James and Sirius especially, but having that small moment at the end of hesitation when Harry mentions saving his life which lead to that metal hand strangling himself is the biggest thing he had that gave him more dimension and it’s sad that it just became more of a comedic scene, because even Ron and Harry were trying to stop the hand chocking him despite everything he did
Maybe they were trying to keep the movie PG. There's already a pretty high body count. And somebody being strangled to death by their own hand could be quite a disturbing scene.
I always loved how Harry responded in the book to Ron when they're talking after he comes back to them and destroys the locket: when Ron said "He [Dumbledore] must have known I'd want to leave you." and Harry counters with: "No, he must have known you would always want to come back." ... it's one of my favorite lines in the books, and beautifully shows how much Harry values Ron as a friend, something the movies never quite got right... not to mention how much they butchered Ron's character overall in the films.
Yeah I hate what the movies did to Ron. I remember in the 3rd book when the trio faced Sirius in the shrieking shack, Ron is the one who stood up on his broken leg and covered Harry and said that Sirius would have to go through him first to get to Harry. In the movies they gave that line to Hermione.
It's never explained in the movies, but a taboo charm was put on voldemort's name. It reveals the location of anyone saying it, and anyone speaking his name are obviously against him. That's how the deatheaters knew where they were in the coffee shop, and that's why they instantly appeared after xenophilius said it. Also I think in the books, in addition to obliviating her parents, Hermione also sent them on a holiday to australia.
She does send them to Australia, however she doesn't use obliviate which is a permanent memory wipe, she uses one that can be reversed. I don't remember if they name it book or not, but they are clear that she didn't use the permanent spell.
That device that Ron got from Dumbledore is called a deluminator, what's cool is that we actually saw it in the first movie when Dumbledore took the lights out on the Dursley's street before baby Harry was left at their home And the eye on Umbridge's office door was Madeye Moody's, vicious!
i loved the way they did the story of the 3 brothers. so eloquent and beautifully animated. the overall tone in this one is definitely more dark, solitary, and stressful. everyone's separated from each other, ppl are dying, society is falling apart, voldemort's gaining even more power, and there's so much uncertainty and hopelessness around everything. so good. also love ron and hermoine's relationship
Couple really important notes left out or different in the book: 1) Wormtail lets Harry and Ron out of the dungeon at Malfoy manor after being caught by snatchers. This was wormtails redemption moment and a big moment in the book. Voldemort had given Wormtail a magical silver hand in book 4 in the graveyard after being brought back - since it sensed wormtails betrayal it choked wormtail to death after he saved Harry. 2) The word "Voldemort" has a trace on it put on by the now overtaken ministry. This explains how they found Harry and the gang so quickly after escaping the wedding. It also explains why Lunas dad says the name and the death eaters arrive instantly at the house. The reason a trace is put on it is because only people who stand against "Voldemort" use that name, otherwise they either refer to him as the Dark Lord or are to scared to refer to him at all. 3) The eyeball on Umbridges office was the very same as Mad Eye Moody's. After his death she kept it as a momento. Many, many, many other details that were left out, but if I include them all I would type for days!
Wormtail does NOT let them escape. He came down to stop them from escaping but hesitated for a fraction of a second, which led to him being strangled by his own hand.

"Wholesome without being lame." I like that. I don't typically enjoy wholesome things, but you're right in their case. They seem like really decent people, even if they are from Oklahoma.
The acting in the scene were Bellatrix is torturing Hermione was so good that the actress who plays Bellatrix felt genuinely bad about it and had been concerned she'd actually scared her.
One big thing they never say in half blood prince is that Sirius left his house to Harry. So Kreacher is also Harry's. You guys have got read the books there are so many things that get cleared up like how the first death eaters knew where Harry Ron and Hermoinie were
I was going to day exactly this plus harry gave kreacher the fake locket in the books, kreacher then completely changed his attitude and started cooking and cleaning for them
Also Regulus ordered Kreecher to help Voldemort hide the locket in the basin. Voldemort had Kreecher drink the water of the basin (like Dumbledore did) and left Kreecher to die but house elves have their own magic and transported himself back to the Black family. Regulus took Kreecher with him to switch the lockets. Regulus drank the potion this time and died from being attacked by the creatures in the water. Following Regulus orders Kreecher returned home, told no one what happened and repeatedly tried to destroy locket.
@@territomlinson1940 And then Kreacher led the House Elves of Hogwarts into battle, "For Master Regulus!" Truly one of my favorite moments in the books!
Dobby played such a big role in the books. He and Winky (a girl house elf that was completely cut from the movies) were in Goblet of Fire. Dobby actually worked at Hogwarts in the kitchens with the other house elves but Dumbledore agreed to pay him and give him days off. Also in the book Harmione had started an activist group for House Elves and tried to rally support. But most of the house elves didn't want anything to do with it. Anyway, Dobby is an awesome character and it sucks that they didn't show him more in the movie. I remember that death hit me HARD!

SPEW, yes im so mad they didnt show the house elves helping in the castle defense, teleporting wizards away the moment they got in an ATARI situation (12 monkeys TV series reference).
16:46 I think y'all might have missed it but the wedding is for Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour. Fleur was the Wizard Champion for Beauxbatons Academy in the Goblet of Fire and Madame Maxime was her headmistress.
I hate how out-of-left-field the movies make their relationship seem! Bill and Molly are meant to be there for the third task in GoF as Harry's family because the other champions all have family visiting, and that's when Fleur and Bill first meet. Fleur later takes a desk job at Gringotts and gets paired with Bill who volunteers to "help her improve her English," and they fall in love on a genuine, deeper level than what Molly assumes based on Fleur's appearance. Then, Fleur puts up with the way the women in Bill's life treat her for the better part of a year before the wedding. Once she finally stands up to Molly in HBP, she is accepted by the Weasleys in time for the wedding. Theirs is a love story that deserved better, much like Remus and Tonks, Harry and Ginny, and even Ron and Hermione.
I wish the animators didnt forgot about Dobby's clothes. When he became free he started to wear colourful and real clothes. That would've added an interesting detail to emphasize the difference between him and Kreatur
Probably has more to do with not wanting viewers to focus on Dobby's clothes in the middle of the movie's otherwise very drab color scheme. Something, _anything,_ other than the rag he started off wearing would have been nice, though; even if it had to be grey/brown/whatever to fit in. At least they gave him shoes.
Cant show the free elves as having a life beyond their enslavement. I always hated how Hermione was teased and put down for wanting to right by the house elves. Itd been better if Harry became a teacher rather than Aurora. Once Hermione was Minister of Magic she never helped the house elves gain freedom. It was just business as usual.
One more left. You should do it right away. The best thing is that you just have days instead of a year like we did back in the day. I have had the most wonderful time watching you two discover this series! Notice that I didn’t give my long list of facts, fun or otherwise with this reaction. I did yea t to risk spoilers for part two.
The first cinema experience I remember was seeing Goblet of Fire almost 2 decades ago now and yes… the yearly waits in between films from then on was agonizing.
I wish I just had to wait a year and then go sit down and watch it lol. I had to wait and then try and find time to read it. Which definitely takes a lot longer than watching. I can’t complain tho honestly because it was well worth it. I don’t think many people can get that real first experience anymore since it’s so popular. Everyone already knows somewhat the idea. I’ll never forget reading the first book. I had no clue what Harry Potter was and I read it with 0 expectations at all so every page was a surprise. I wish more got to experience the story without knowing roughly what it is first
@@Rosedach I am one of those people who can’t read the book when I know there’s gonna be a movie. Since the books are always so much better, I can’t get them out of my mind if I’m watching a movie afterward. So I waited for all of the movies to finish before I started reading the books.
Amber was so thrilled to see Dobbie back but I felt bad for her because I knew what was coming. Your reaction to Dobbie’s death got to me more than the actual scene did.
@@HighlanderReactionsZA Agree. Dobby had his own minor arch in the story. He grew on me. I really wish he had put some clothes on to show his status as a free elf
I had to stop myself laughing at the burial scene - in the books, it's in the garden of Bill and Fleur's cottage. The way they buried him on the public beach in the film just made me imagine that in a year or so, a dog digs him up and brings a severed arm back to its owners... Burying people in shallow sand is a really bad idea, I don't get why they made the change in the film the way they did
The one important book thing I always thought was missing from the movies was that there was protection for Harry at the Dursley's until his 17th birthday (and I think that was when the trace came off, as well) - that's why he had to go back to such a terrible place, he was safe there.
i was wondering if they know the "why" to why he always had to go back every year and the significance of why they were all waiting for him as he was turning 17. i couldnt remember if the movies made that point. there are several details in the books that are left out. Still great movies, but if youve only seen the movies you miss out on some of the important reasons for things.
Specifically, Harry had protection as long as he had a place he could call home. Though, I wonder why no one could transfer the protection spell to the Weasleys. Molly would have been overjoyed to act as his adopted mother.
To me, the saddest deaths are Hedwig and Dobby...both made me literally sob. I've seen this movie so many times and I'm still teary-eyed watching your reaction. They both died saving Harry's life...Hedwig took the death curse and Dobby taking the dagger.
Since I know they've watched it all now, mine was Fred. I SLAMMED the book shut, shoved it in my bookbag, cried my eyes out, and didn't continue reading for a solid two weeks.
I feel like most reactors just kinda miss the fact that harrys invisibility cloak is one of a kind and one of the three most significant magical objects in the entire wizarding world, it is just amazing when you read that part and realize that hes had it all along.
@@walterrutherford8321 The Sorcerer’s Stone and the Resurrection Stone are 2 different things. The Sorcerer’s Stone was destroyed at the end of that movie/book. Dumbledore told Harry that at the end of the first installment. The Resurrection Stone plays an important role in the last movie/book.
It was never explained in any of the movies that invisibility cloaks were often expire after use or spells be used upon them. That's why I always encourage movie goers to at least read the books after, too. After the 3 brothers story and the trio arrive in Hogsmeade, an Accio spell is used on his cloak, and he goes to grab it, but it doesn't succumb... Dope stuff.
The animation for the Tale of Three Brothers is one of my favorite sequences in any movie I’ve ever seen, it’s so enchanting and fascinating, and it reveals so much for this entire story. Brilliant. Thanks once again for amazing reaction, I can’t wait for the final film! ❤
Pausing in the middle just to comment on the fact that you liked that dance scene. It is, by far, my favourite in this movie! It's just over a minute long, but manages to go through an entire encyclopedia of emotions. Harry tries to get Hermione out of her pit of despair, and manages to do so for a short moment, but as soon as that moment is over you can just see her fall back into that dark hole. Watching this always makes me tear up.
I agree. They are the only reactors that truly get the scene for what it is. A small, innocent moment of happiness among all the bleakness. A beautiful display of friendship and humanity. I cry every time I watch it.

Another fun fact about Harry Potter is that nobody thought it would be as huge as it was when they were filming the first movie. Warner Brother's wanted to test it out to see if a global audience could care about a school based in the UK. Early on I think it's really cool how some prolific British actors agreed to appear in the first movie. Then you can tell as each film went on it became even more of a global phenomenon and they could get even bigger names in British and Irish film and theater. Daniel Radcliffe used to say it was like going to the best drama school on the planet because pretty much all of the adult cast are legends in the British and Irish film industry.
The beginning scene, she was erasing her parents memories of her to protect them, because as you saw in the last one. The Death Eaters were also attacking the Muggle World now too!! And Hermione being in such close proximity to Harry means that her family are in danger too! I also wish they kept that full Dursleys leaving scene in, in the deleted scene you see an extended version of it, that Dudley & Harry finally have a moment. They finally respect each other!
I've always been disappointed in that scene... the anguish of permanently loosing your parents by your own hand, seemed that it would have been more intense on her part. I blame the director for not coaxing it out of her.
@@chipsfalling8625 She wasn't permanently losing them. She states in the books several times, that she had them set up a trip to Australia before wiping her from their memories. And after the war was over, she was going to go to Australia to find them

There is also the moment between Aunt Petunia and Harry when she mentioned how long she had been in that house and then has to give it up and Harry says basically how dangerous it is if they stay and she says "you think i dont know what they are capable of? You didnt just lose your parents that night in Godric's Hallow. I lost a sister."
@@sujugothkitten Yeah but to me that moment felt more forced than anything, as up until then she only treated Harry with hatred. Dudley was actually made to change his feelings from the Dementor attack.
My favorite scene from the book is Kreacher telling his story. Reading it always brings me to tears. After that he does a 180 and is almost as caring for them as Dobby…almost.
My mom waited in line at midnight to get this book for me and I read it all in one sitting. This book is extremely dark and mature, especially with the story of Dumbledore's family and the horror of the horcruxes. It was also quite depressing with how often the Trio had to move locations and they all went through some pretty heavy mental breakdowns. I find the Death Eaters extremely scary. I've had nightmares about hiding from them that were pretty chilling even in my adulthood. The thing to remember about Ron even though the movies didn't do his character justice is that he comes from a family of extremely accomplished people. His 5 older brothers were all over-achievers and Ginny is a really strong witch and also very popular. It's not that Ron is weak or goofy it's just that he always felt really normal and then at Hogwarts it's kind of the same with Harry being famous and Hermione being as smart as she is. Ron is just surrounded by extremely excellent people. I think in retrospect a lot of people are more like Ron than we care to admit.
I waited the last four books for the midnight releases-I took my kids with me..what a fun memory! We did the same with the movies, they were young but I was so excited that they loved reading all due to HP. Barnes and Nobel had great midnight releases for the books😊
I took my son to the midnight releases for the series. It was fun to watch all the excitement around a book release and see so many people of all ages excited to read.
I watched the movies first and once I read the books it annoyed me how they treated ron. In the books hermoine was great with magic but her and harry knew nothing about the wizarding world, so ron being raised in it had a role, a place, an importance in the group. He brought information neither of the other two knew.
Watching Amber's reactions to the Snape reveal were almost as heartbreaking to me as the reveal itself. And can we please give a shout out to the late, great, and very much missed Alan Rickman who made Snape into such a complex and wonderful character through his performance? I'm actually a bit bummed that the reactions to HP are over, but I wager I'll be watching them for years to come. Cheers!
What isn't explained in the film is that the way they are found so quickly in London is because they say the name "Voldemort". The Order of the Phoenix were the only people brave enough to say Voldemort, everyone else called him He Who Must Not Be Named and Voldemort knew that and cast a spell so that whenever his name is spoken the Deatheaters can instantly go to the spot. That's why they turn up at Luna's dad's house the second after he says "Voldemort" too.
Dobby has a much bigger role in the books, he’s the one who gives Harry the gillyweed during the second task of the triwizard tournament not Neville, and he warns Dumbledores Army that Umbridge has found their hideout which allows them to flee. He also works in the kitchens at Hogwarts after he’s freed and Dumbledore pays him and gives him time off. You should read the books.
I was never able to get through the books - when I started reading the first one, the writing style turned me off so much that I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Maybe I need to try again.
@@traci4187 The first book was meant to be a pure children's book. It's getting darker and more grown up from book three on. And it's well worth it. :)

One little thing about a Patronus is that they are unique to each and every witch and wizard and can change throughout life. Harry’s Patronus is a Stag which is representative of his father aka Prongs. Pay attention to the Doe Harry saw at the lake. I absolutely love y’all’s reactions and I always get excited every time y’all post!!!
The doe aside, a fun note about particular Patronus forms is Ron and Hermione's forms. Ron's is a Jack Russell Terrier while Hermione's is an otter. Jack Russells notably will run along the river and play with otters. A Patronus can also change form if the person casting it has gone through a major emotional change. Tonks, for example, sees hers shift from a jackrabbit to a wolf after she falls in love with Remus.
Jay? Being a father has opened your mind and made u more empathetic, a better listener, kinder…it’s beautiful to witness, m’friend. Y’all seem to be wonderful parents and supportive partners. Legit goals🖖
I just wish they'd left in the scene where the Dursleys are leaving, and Dudley makes his peace with Harry. It was such a good scene.... and yes, "git" is an insult. Oh and if you ever happen to find yourself in Wales, you can visit Dobby's grave.
Fr, I think we forget that Dudley was growing up too, Petunia and Vernon are definitely not the greatest influences and kids usually mimic what their parents do, he didn’t hate Harry, it’s just all he knew growing up.
The beach in England where Dobby was buried has become a popular visitor destination. People go there and leave mementos in honor of Dobby’s character at that very spot on the beach. I haven’t been there, but I’ve seen videos of people who have gone. It’s quit touching. 😊 This movie has become more and more important to me over the years - the more I watch it, the more I appreciate it. It is so meaningful, even though not many horcruxes get destroyed. A LOT happens in terms of character growth, conflict, and plot development. Can’t wait for the next one! Thanks so much! ❤
Dobby's grave is in Freshwater West beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The National Trust, who manage the beach, are concerned about high visitor numbers and pollution and are thinking of relocating the grave.
Amber I love that scene when Harry dances with Hermoine too. It’s my favorite scene in this movie. Everything is so bleak and lonely so Harry was trying to give her some cheer. I’m always touched by that. I’m loving your reactions so much! When you are done with films, you and your kids should read the books to each other.
This movie has my favorite quote.... "mmoooorning" And it was Hermione who apparated them to the street in London. This is much more explained in the books where you get to hear the struggles of the apparation classes during the previous years.
You have to read the books to get the full backstory on Dumbledore and his family that was mentioned at the wedding. Same with the story of how Harry actually got that shard of mirror. They busted through the wall into the house next door when Harry was fighting the snake. Rob was more right thsn he knew about the wolf looking guy since that's Fenrir Greyback. He's the werewolf that bit Lupin abd turned him abd he is basically a death eater even though they despise his kind. Tbe goblin in the dungeon with them is not Professor Flitwick..his name is Griphook but he's played by the same actor in this one. In the book Hermione was unconscious and literally couldn't help Dobby anyway.
Amber how could you say that Umbridge is a "wicked, wicked woman" and not call her a wicked witch? 😂 Watching you both enjoy these films with pure hearted wonderment and joy, without trying to be cynical critics, is really heartwarming. There's an innocence that you both exude that is truly incredible. Thank you for just enjoying the films, for getting invested and for reminding old cynics like me that, even as an adult, you can still find the same amazement in fantastic films like these. You both remind me of my youngerself when I first watched these films, a time before I was burdened by the pressures of this world. With full sincerity I want to thank you both for that. You guys keep up these amazing reactions. I'm saddened that there's only one more after this but I'm excited to watch you both see the conclusion to this tale! Thank you again.
I hated they did not include the scene from the book when Harry went into Luna's room and saw the mural she had painted on her bedroom wall. that was such a touching passage in the book
@@justlive2809 here is the book's description of the painting- “Luna had decorated her bedroom ceiling with five beautifully painted faces: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville. They were not moving as the portraits at Hogwarts moved, but there was a certain magic about them all the same: Harry thought they breathed. What appeared to be fine golden chains wove around the pictures, linking them together, but after examining them for a minute or so, Harry realized that the chains were actually one word, repeated a thousand times in golden ink: friends . . . friends . . . friends . Harry experienced a strong surge of warmth for Luna when he saw the painting"
Helena Carter (The Actress that plays Bellatrix) is so talented and convincing. She feels like a sweetheart in real life from the few times ive seen her outside of the movies. She actually laughs like Bellatrix in real life though😂 Also ive watched this series so many times that her lil bestie bond with Daniel Radcliffe in real life is so funny and weird to me lol.
Please watch 7 pt2 right away. This is the ultimate best. Im so happy to be on this journey with you. Ive watched the entire collection, several times and will do so again after youre done. Love HPs so much.
In the book Dudley ended up hugging Harry when they left and thanking him for saving his life. I wish they had left this in the movie to give him a moment of redemption.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the series - you won't really understand it until the very end, but it's an amazing trip - then when you get to the end you can start back at the beginning and see all the hints you missed the first time! The actress who plays Hermione in disguise in the Ministry of Magic is Sophie Thompson, the sister of Emma Thompson who plays Professor Trelawney at Hogwarts - sending love and hugs from Australia, Karen 🌷
I know a lot of people don’t like when people say “read the books” but seriously it’s a whole other level or you can always listen to the audiobooks. I wish they would’ve gone more into “kreachers tale” it’s so heart breaking he actually grows to love his master “Harry” and it’s a big significance to the story. 😊
The overall underlying theme of these books/movies is growing up and understanding the world is not always a nice place all while learning to overcome evil. The themes, subjects, and events get darker and more serious as Harry grows up, unveiling the true nature of the world and it’s inhabitants. Harry is introduced to a new world, the Wizarding World, as he begins the very early stages of puberty and ends when he becomes an adult.
First off, thanks for taking me on your Harry Potter journey. It's been a blessing to watch them all again - through your fresh eyes. And now you are ready for the final chapter. For most of us, it took over 10 years from start to finish. You did it all in 8 short weeks. Sit back and take it in.The door is about to close on this beloved series. And I can't wait to see it through the end with the both of you.
I remember getting the last book of Harry Potter. I was the first one in line like ten hours early and was there until they released it. I stayed up all night and finished it before I had to go to church the next morning. Dobby’s death broke me for a solid twenty minutes. I ended up walking out to the front room and waking up the family dog and just cuddling with him.
I just discovered your channel two days ago, and I've been bingeing your Harry Potter videos all day... and voilá! The first part of Deathly Hallows drops five minutes after I finished Half-Blood Prince!! How lucky am I!!
I'm glad you saw the dancing scene for what it was meant to be - two friends trying to find some happiness in such a dark, dangerous world. It's just sad when it ends and you see the shadow cross Hermiones face again 😢 also, Ron was affected most by the Horcrux because he has constantly been overshadowed. It bought out his worst fears and thoughts which were that he wasn't wanted or loved. Hence his outburst at Harry and Hermione. In the book he even explains it made him think dark thoughts, and after destroying the Horcrux he cried. Harry put a hand on his shoulder and told him he only loves Hermione as a sister, nothing more.
You definitely can't have a break between part 1 & 2 & leave yourselves & us as well hanging. We need part 2 asap, it's almost like watching it for the first time again ourselves... almost.
The reason the Death Eaters caught up with them so quickly, was that Voldemort's name itself has been cursed. Anyone who speaks it, the Death Eathers instantly know who, and where. Speaking his name was seen as a sign of defiance. This is why people were terrified to even say it. I think it's Hermione who says his name as she's explaining what she did, inadvertently throwing out a huge "come and get us" signal.
one interesting thing about that is Hogwarts house elves didn't like what Hermione was trying to do ''Hermione Granger set up the organisation S.P.E.W., she started coming to the kitchens in order to persuade them to be set free. This did not earn her any popularity, as most believe that house-elves enjoy their work; indeed, even the house-elves did not like her campaigning. She started knitting hats and socks, which she left lying around Gryffindor Tower, hoping to free some unsuspecting elf who picked them up while cleaning the common room, so as to grant them freedom.''
I love how J.K. Rowling used the old Dungeons & Dragons' "bag of holding" concept for Hermione's purse. hahahaha I need one of those. Also - the spell used on Hermione's purse is the same spell used on the tents to make them more spacious on the inside.
i havent seen this movie for years years years & could not stop the stream of tears over dobbys burial ~ i love dobby on the couch there watching himself act ~ he knows its just a movie ~
I began reading these books to my child when she was Six. She didn’t grasp the terminology. I kept trying. I finally was hooked. I bought myself and my nephew, Harry’s age, the books. My daughter eventually loved the movies. My nephew and I understood the books in real time. The books are amazing. The movies are as best as can be.
Okay, here we go! Ya'll are so not expecting this... ...So much I want to say! Too much. Too hard to choose. I thoroughly enjoyed your reactions. Amber, I started bawling the moment I heard Dobby call out to Harry on the beach. But you held it together. If ya'll want to do part 2 on Friday, I don't think anyone would mind... ;)
Umbridge was taken by the centaurs but Dumbledore saved her. What was truly horrible is Mad-Eye's magical eye was nailed to Umbridge's office door when Harry went in.
I've been longing to see Harry get back at Umbridge, and he caught her off guard since she never knew it was him when he knocked her out with a quick flash.
There are things in this movie that we cannot point out without revealing spoilers. Once you've seen Part 2, we will all be able to discuss the films more openly. Would you consider a live stream at that point, so everyone can share freely?
we would have to be careful and have multiple mods in to make sure no one gives spoilers cause i can tell some people would join to do just that or have them not look at chat and we discuss
It’s been so fun to watch these with you guys. I’m 37 and love older music so i got into your videos from those and I’m obsessed with the movie reactions. Really can’t wait for you to see part 2 and hopefully it won’t get spoiled. So many amazing moments and revelations and that’s all I’ll say
I find the dance between Harry and Hermione to be so precious. I love that moment between them trying to find a moment to smile amidst the tragedy of their lives.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard was published as a small book of fairytales in the same vein as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (the textbook) and Quidditch Through the Ages alongside the main Harry Potter books; the Beedle the Bard book has accompanying footnotes written by Dumbledore who explains wand cores, his and Grindelwald's plans to search for the Hallows, and offers knowledge and insight on the other tales and how they relate to the larger story. It's not only a nice read the way that Cinderella or Aesop's Fables, but it also expands upon the Wizarding World as we know it. For anyone who hasn't taken the time to read it, give The Tales of Beedle the Bard a chance.
Bruuuuh, we can't wait til Friday, (or even worse next Monday). I'm so excited to see you guys finish the end. It's been such a fun journey watching you guys so far.
I look forward to your HP reactions every week, they CANNOT come fast enough. I would probably watch a reaction video of you READING Harry Potter, honestly! No matter what happens in Part 2, know that the friendship, love and courage this series teaches you will ALWAYS be there.
32:50 • Snatchers = people who support Voldy’s regime and go around capturing muggle-borns and blood traitors to turn them in to the Ministry or Voldemort 44:14 • to obtain the Sword of Gryffindor, one must perform a true act of bravery. This is why Ron was able to get it after saving Harry. Harry was almost drowned by the locket because it could sense him getting close to the thing that could destroy/kill it so it fought back
Emma Watson actually researched torture and read interviews with torture victims to prepare for the scene with Bellatrix. Helena Bonham Carter, after filming that scene, actually asked to make sure the two of them were okay.
You both are the best reaction videos on UA-cam. I’ve watched a lot of channels but you two have the most genuine and believable reactions. And you’re also cool haha. You let the movie run and throw in your opinions in when it’s necessary. And you give us great reactions in the most important scenes and don’t skip over important moments. 👍
For you to know, it didn't mentionned in the movies but the Deathly Hollow, the Invisibility cloak is the one Harry have. From his father. The third brother is the ancestor of Harry.
a few fun Polyjuice Potion tidbits: - this is the potion first seen in the 2nd book/movie, brewed in the girls’ bathroom w/ moaning myrtle for the trio to ask Malfoy abt the Chamber of Secrets. it is also extensively used in the 4th book/movie for Barty Crouch jr to impersonate Mad Eye all year - typically, Polyjuice Potion takes on characteristics of the person you are transforming into. when Harry + Ron became Crabbe + Goyle, it was disgusting and sluggish, gray-green, and very gross. it is said in the books that when the group took Harry-Polyjuice Potion before leaving Privet Drive, it turned a clear, bright gold in and was "much tastier" than both Crabbe's and Goyle's - for Bill + Fleur’s wedding, Harry was actually disguised as a random red-headed muggle from the local village using the potion. everyone who knew told everyone else that he was just another Weasley cousin and that they must not remember him because the family is so large - before the trio left the Weasley’s in the beginning, they stole the remainder of Mad-Eye’s Polyjuice Potion stores in case they would need it. After using most of what was left for the Ministry mission, Harry + Hermione used some more when they went to Godric’s Hollow, they disguised themselves as muggles and wore the invisibility cloak for extra protection. when they went to bathilda’s house, they took off the cloak but were still disguised. she only knew it was Harry bc she was actually Nagini
This series is one of my favorites! It has truly been a pleasure going on this journey with you both, and I really appreciate that you didn't make us wait weeks between each movie reaction.
Almost there! I'm expecting a lot of gasps and tears for Part 2! Grindelwald, the thief from the pictures and Harry's vision in Voldemort's mind, he had a very impactful relationship with Dumbledore and it wasn't even mentioned in the movie; Rita Skeeter's book only implied they knew each other in a couple of photos It affected how Dumbledore made his decisions regarding himself, the Wizarding world AND the Muggles Grindelwald is also the focus of the prequel series, Fantastic Beasts, that recently got cut short by Warner Bros. there were supposed to be five movies; only three will apparently be made; the name also cropped up on Harry's first ever train ride to Hogwarts; it was on his Chocolate Frog card of Dumbledore, but it was only mentioned in the book You see, the books have started to tie together, beginning with the revelation that Tom Riddle's diary was a Horcrux the whole time and now with: - Gryffindor's sword used to slay the Basilisk can destroy the rest - the Deluminator (used by Dumbledore on the night Harry was delivered to the Dursleys in Sorcerer's Stone saves Ron's life in a way - the Golden Snitch caught in Harry's first Quidditch match now being of some utmost importance The Tale of the Three Brothers is more involved thematiacally; once you finish Part 2, we, your fan base, will explain it to you Viktor Krum showed up at the wedding in the book and he revealed that the mark of the Deathly Hallows is graffitied on a wall on his campus in Durmstrang, where he attends Grindelwald was a student there too but got expelled for studying the Dark Arts too seriously i.e. the Deathly Hallows These two movies have the most content from their books since Chamber of Secrets but some key things have still been left out PLEASE WATCH PART 2 for film Friday! We would love to see your reaction to the finale right after this part! Love you both very much! ❤❤❤
@@MsAppassionata they haven't even started it they don't even know it exists since they're still on this series I bet they won't watch it because no one is mentioning it
@@MsAppassionata i think its a combination of the secrets of dumbldore not being as successful, controversies with so many of the actors from the series (ezra millers stuff mostly now that depp was replaced, which also made more ppl not watch it since they don't think he should've been replaced) and overall bad reviews, which make sense since JK was doing the screenplay and she definitely is not that kind of writer. Even if they weren't great I would've loved to see at least what happened with grindelwald especially since the last movie just felt like a good set up for the rest, but I don't think we ever will. maybe we will get some book/short story detailing it, but sadly we wont see that legendary duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald (if it happened)

Something that may be helpful for you guys to know is that Flitwick is the Hogwarts Charms teacher. The goblin at the Malloy mansion is called Griphook. They are different characters in the books and movies, but in the movies they are played by the same actor - Warwick Davies. Love the reactions so far,
There was a very sweet scene in the beginning that was deleted. When the Durselys were leaving Dudley shook Harry's hand. It didn't remotely make up for all the abuse over the years but it was touching nevertheless that after Harry saved his life from the Dementors Dudley finally accepted him as his brother.
I was about to comment comment that. I’m still mad they cut that scene out
I really felt they should have left that in.
It’s funny I watched the version on Paramount + and it had all of those scenes put back in. I got confused that I was out of sync or they weren’t commenting on these scenes.
Should have been left in A lovely scene
Also a scene with his Aunt
Hedwig and Dobby’s deaths never fails to make me tear up. Their loyalty meant everything to Harry.
Dobby died doing the one thing Harry told him not to do, that was, "to never try and save him again."
Floor🤩
Both of their book deaths hit much harder. Not arguing, just a comment.
Dobby has an actual shrine at Freshwater Beach with stones and socks laid by people and it reads "Here Lies Dobby A Free Elf."
Ooh! :D
❤️✨❤️
When Bill says “Madeye is dead”, hits every time since the actors who play them are father/son in real life.
Beat me to it
Wait what?! They are?! I just learned something new. 😢
Yup! :D

EDIT: im not trying to be mean or rude. They asked for no spoilers and I made this comment bc it spoils part of the books. The books have plenty for them to discover, but they often are left confused by the movies or have questions, which would have been answered were the movies closer to the books.

Honestly. The silver hand was SUPER important, not just some reward Voldemort gave to Peter.
@@elizabethbertucci9313 It always reminds me of Gandalf saying that it was good that Gollum was spared, because it's an act of grace, and because he might play his role before the end.

for real. i wanna say so many things lol
🤐🤐🤐 driving me nuts 😂
I always hated that they changed that bit of dialogue. I love that part too and think about it every time I watch that scene.
@@lolitafalana Justice for Book Ron!
This line is better, Harry's input isn't needed.
@@oxeye8891Everyone knows
It's never explained in the movies, but a taboo charm was put on voldemort's name. It reveals the location of anyone saying it, and anyone speaking his name are obviously against him.
That's how the deatheaters knew where they were in the coffee shop, and that's why they instantly appeared after xenophilius said it.
Also I think in the books, in addition to obliviating her parents, Hermione also sent them on a holiday to australia.
Yep, she send them to Australia and after the war intends to go find and reunite with them :)
I think it's mentioned once in a very short line by one of the members of the Order, but yeah very easy to miss
The taboo was mentioned in a deleted scene following Ron’s injury from the Ministry of Magic. I wish they would have kept that.
She does send them to Australia, however she doesn't use obliviate which is a permanent memory wipe, she uses one that can be reversed. I don't remember if they name it book or not, but they are clear that she didn't use the permanent spell.
It’s weird how they literally recorded the scene where Ron explains it and they just didn’t add it… like it wouldn’t have been that long
That device that Ron got from Dumbledore is called a deluminator, what's cool is that we actually saw it in the first movie when Dumbledore took the lights out on the Dursley's street before baby Harry was left at their home
And the eye on Umbridge's office door was Madeye Moody's, vicious!
vicious indeed
In the books,Harry takes it out of the door.
The goblin is from Gringotts Wizarding Bank, not Professor Flitwick. That is an important distinction for the next movie.
But both characters are played by the same actor...Warwick Davis!
Maybe they thought is was Professor Flitwick beacuse 2 diferent actors play as professor.
Yes. Different character, same actor.
@@janezkette3901 No they don’t. They just made him look different in the third film. Same actor though.
i loved the way they did the story of the 3 brothers. so eloquent and beautifully animated. the overall tone in this one is definitely more dark, solitary, and stressful. everyone's separated from each other, ppl are dying, society is falling apart, voldemort's gaining even more power, and there's so much uncertainty and hopelessness around everything. so good. also love ron and hermoine's relationship
the 3 brothers tale in this movie always reminds me of Tim Burton's style.
@@6666Imperator I think it was heavily inspired by his movies. Would be no surprise.
Couple really important notes left out or different in the book:
1) Wormtail lets Harry and Ron out of the dungeon at Malfoy manor after being caught by snatchers.
I hope they read this. You brought up some really good stuff that was left out!!
Wormtail does NOT let them escape. He came down to stop them from escaping but hesitated for a fraction of a second, which led to him being strangled by his own hand.

Amber and Jay are by far my favorite reactors. They are so damn wholesome and awesome without being lame. A hard thing to pull off.
Agreed! I would love to be their neighbor! I wish I knew more people like them!
"Wholesome without being lame." I like that. I don't typically enjoy wholesome things, but you're right in their case. They seem like really decent people, even if they are from Oklahoma.
True. True.
No fake or over-dramatic reactions. They're just genuine and actually listen/ take in what they watch and listen to.
@@casmatori Fake thumbnail pics though
The acting in the scene were Bellatrix is torturing Hermione was so good that the actress who plays Bellatrix felt genuinely bad about it and had been concerned she'd actually scared her.
Emma Watson’s screams still haunt me every time I watch. Such a good job acting.
I still feel traumatized by that scene.
In the book Ron shouts her name while she screams though....
That’s the Legendary Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club, Big Fish, etc).
@@chartbreakers999 was just going to say that...😂
One big thing they never say in half blood prince is that Sirius left his house to Harry.
His death in the books?? Oh man. I was sad for hours.

He should've started wearing armor.
Well they did add the little detail of Ron saying "nice shoes"
Cant show the free elves as having a life beyond their enslavement. I always hated how Hermione was teased and put down for wanting to right by the house elves. Itd been better if Harry became a teacher rather than Aurora. Once Hermione was Minister of Magic she never helped the house elves gain freedom. It was just business as usual.
would have looked silly on screen
I wish more got to experience the story without knowing roughly what it is first
Part one released in November 2010 and part two was released the following summer in July 2011. Not a full year but still a long awaited finale.
If you read the books, the wait wasn't that long.
Yeah, when she got excited to see him I said, "Oh, poor baby..."
I don't get affected by much but Dobby's death hit me hard wow. I can't wait to see your reaction to the finale.
Burying people in shallow sand is a really bad idea, I don't get why they made the change in the film the way they did
Because sceeeenery 🏖️
It was blood magic so only living with a blood relation could protect him.
To me, the saddest deaths are Hedwig and Dobby...both made me literally sob. I've seen this movie so many times and I'm still teary-eyed watching your reaction. They both died saving Harry's life...Hedwig took the death curse and Dobby taking the dagger.
I honestly think Hedwig's death was the hardest for me!
Since I know they've watched it all now, mine was Fred. I SLAMMED the book shut, shoved it in my bookbag, cried my eyes out, and didn't continue reading for a solid two weeks.
To me it’s Cedric’s death because of his dad’s acting 😢
@@ClySaga That was so heartbreaking...
I feel like most reactors just kinda miss the fact that harrys invisibility cloak is one of a kind and one of the three most significant magical objects in the entire wizarding world, it is just amazing when you read that part and realize that hes had it all along.
He at different times has had two of the three Deathly Hallows because he also retrieved the Sorcerer’s Stone in his first year.
@@walterrutherford8321
The Sorcerer’s Stone and the Resurrection Stone are 2 different things. The Sorcerer’s Stone was destroyed at the end of that movie/book. Dumbledore told Harry that at the end of the first installment. The Resurrection Stone plays an important role in the last movie/book.
Yes, I think i the books it says there are other cloaks of invisibility but none of them are as powerful and effective as Harry's.
Dope stuff.

Fun fact: The tales of Beedle the Bard is a companion book published after the series. It's very cute. I was gifted a copy when it came out.
To be honest, I wanted Harry and Hermione to be a couple
@@user-10681 In a way, yeah me too. But their friendship is just so beautiful I'm content with it the way it is now. 😊
I agree. They are the only reactors that truly get the scene for what it is. A small, innocent moment of happiness among all the bleakness. A beautiful display of friendship and humanity. I cry every time I watch it.
You are my absolute favorite people to watch because you are so wholesome and kind. I’m autistic and have a hard time watching new movies and music on my own, I prefer to watch with someone. When I watch “with” you, I don’t feel anxious or misunderstand the subtleties. I want to express my gratitude for making movies and music more accessible by just sharing your reactions. ❤️ I’m so happy you’re watching the HP movies and sharing your reactions even though I’ve seen them.
And after the war was over, she was going to go to Australia to find them
@@chipsfalling8625 She planned to lift the spell if she got out alive. If she didn't, she figured it would make them happy not knowing they lost a daughter.

Cheers!
Amber’s reaction when she saw dobby return with kreacher & mandungus 🥺❤️
It was at this point that I thought to myself, Amber is not going to like the end of this film.
Oh that killed me to see Ambers excitement at Dobby’s return knowing her heart was going to break later on in the movie at Dobby’s death.
It's the same with Kreacher, even he has quite a character arc in the books.
@@traci4187 The first book was meant to be a pure children's book. It's getting darker and more grown up from book three on. And it's well worth it. :)
JUSTICE FOR S.P.E.W.!!
The books were so detailed-so much better than the movies!
My mom broke during that final scene, sobbing hard in the theater. There aren’t a lot of experiences quite like Harry Potter. It brought many of us together, even the odd kids found friends in the fandom.
It makes me so happy when J looks at Amber when she is talking. The love and friendship they have is just…wow! 😁
Agreed, the doe is extremely important!
Agree. I dropped a comment about the doe also before I saw yours. Don't worry! No spoiler was dropped. All I said was keep the doe in mind.
Just don't leave any socks there... apparently that's no longer acceptable
I've always been so sad that Dumbledore's history isn't included in the movies. It's my favorite part of the book!
Also, Bellatrix's dagger was cursed so they wouldn't have been able to help him anyways.
yep!
The Tales of Beedle the Bard is also a book published after the series. A friend gifted it to me. It's very cute.
Amber how could you say that Umbridge is a "wicked, wicked woman" and not call her a wicked witch? 😂

I hated they did not include the scene from the book when Harry went into Luna's room and saw the mural she had painted on her bedroom wall. that was such a touching passage in the book
what was the painting ?

If they hold to the same pattern they will drop part 2 next Monday.
Been slightly luckier if you waited a week.
In the books it's a huge plot point that Hermione is always trying to free the house elves from their bondage.
one interesting thing about that is Hogwarts house elves didn't like what Hermione was trying to do ''Hermione Granger set up the organisation S.P.E.W., she started coming to the kitchens in order to persuade them to be set free.
@@janezkette3901 She's not their master and cleaning clothes doesn't set them free anyways

I've been longing to see Harry get back at Umbridge, and he caught her off guard since she never knew it was him when he knocked her out with a quick flash.
Rita Skeeter actually did reveal some pretty dark secrets about Dumbledore, but you'd have to read the books to find them out

@@Bugster-50907 Yeah I wonder if the Chat can be made private for only the Host if needed?
@@Bugster-50907 not if we do it after they’ve seen it Part 2
I remember watching this movie 7x in theatres because of the amount of lore it had. The Deathly Hallows animation is always a joy to watch.
It was so sweet when u looked back at ur soft toy when u saw dobby❤😂
Part 2 is action-packed. Can't wait for your next reaction.
I love the part with George giving Harry that look after he catches him and Ginny kissing. He may be a prankster but he’s also an older brother.
🔥🖤🔥
I love watching all your reactions; you are always compassionate and thoughtful. It's a treat to watch such adorable young people. Bless you.
32:50 • Snatchers = people who support Voldy’s regime and go around capturing muggle-borns and blood traitors to turn them in to the Ministry or Voldemort
44:14 • to obtain the Sword of Gryffindor, one must perform a true act of bravery. This is why Ron was able to get it after saving Harry. Harry was almost drowned by the locket because it could sense him getting close to the thing that could destroy/kill it so it fought back
So excited for you guys to watch the second part and see how all the strings get together.
Btw, Dobby's grave is now a place that fans can visit.
Great reaction, Jay and Amber. Part 2 of 'The Deathly Hallows' will bring you so many mixed emotions, but it's well worth the wait.
a few fun Polyjuice Potion tidbits:
- this is the potion first seen in the 2nd book/movie, brewed in the girls’ bathroom w/ moaning myrtle for the trio to ask Malfoy abt the Chamber of Secrets. it is also extensively used in the 4th book/movie for Barty Crouch jr to impersonate Mad Eye all year
- typically, Polyjuice Potion takes on characteristics of the person you are transforming into. when Harry + Ron became Crabbe + Goyle, it was disgusting and sluggish, gray-green, and very gross. it is said in the books that when the group took Harry-Polyjuice Potion before leaving Privet Drive, it turned a clear, bright gold in and was "much tastier" than both Crabbe's and Goyle's
- for Bill + Fleur’s wedding, Harry was actually disguised as a random red-headed muggle from the local village using the potion. everyone who knew told everyone else that he was just another Weasley cousin and that they must not remember him because the family is so large
- before the trio left the Weasley’s in the beginning, they stole the remainder of Mad-Eye’s Polyjuice Potion stores in case they would need it.
Grindelwald, the thief from the pictures and Harry's vision in Voldemort's mind, he had a very impactful relationship with Dumbledore and it wasn't even mentioned in the movie; Rita Skeeter's book only implied they knew each other in a couple of photos
It affected how Dumbledore made his decisions regarding himself, the Wizarding world AND the Muggles
Grindelwald is also the focus of the prequel series, Fantastic Beasts, that recently got cut short by Warner Bros. there were supposed to be five movies; only three will apparently be made; the name also cropped up on Harry's first ever train ride to Hogwarts; it was on his Chocolate Frog card of Dumbledore, but it was only mentioned in the book You see, the books have started to tie together, beginning with the revelation that Tom Riddle's diary was a Horcrux the whole time and now with:
- Gryffindor's sword used to slay the Basilisk can destroy the rest
- the Deluminator (used by Dumbledore on the night Harry was delivered to the Dursleys in Sorcerer's Stone saves Ron's life in a way
- the Golden Snitch caught in Harry's first Quidditch match now being of some utmost importance
The Tale of the Three Brothers is more involved thematiacally; once you finish Part 2, we, your fan base, will explain it to you
Viktor Krum showed up at the wedding in the book and he revealed that the mark of the Deathly Hallows is graffitied on a wall on his campus in Durmstrang, where he attends Grindelwald was a student there too but got expelled for studying the Dark Arts too seriously i.e. the Deathly Hallows
These two movies have the most content from their books since Chamber of Secrets but some key things have still been left out
PLEASE WATCH PART 2 for film Friday! We would love to see your reaction to the finale right after this part!
Love you both very much! ❤❤❤
Why aren’t they going to finish Fantastic Beasts? That’s disappointing.
@@KarlKraus1 no they meant why are they not gonna make all 5 fantastic beasts movies like the original comment talked about. they only made three instead of the proposed five
@@mev2441 ah sorry
Yeah like the earlier comment said the movies became too inconsistent the writing was just being too filling and it wasn't working out with audiences plus the whole calamity with johnny depp and then with ezra miller AND rowling herself... WB had to jump ship and cut their losses it really is a damn shame we won't get to see that duel in 1945 that got dumbledore the elder wan d
Something that may be helpful for you guys to know is that Flitwick is the Hogwarts Charms teacher. The goblin at the Malloy mansion is called Griphook. They are different characters in the books and movies, but in the movies they are played by the same actor - Warwick Davies. Love the reactions so far,
Such a sad moment how she says how Harry has the most beautiful owl then 5 mins later Hedwig litterly gets killed.
The Cloak of Insvibilty was originally James Potter's which was Harry's dad. Now, Harry has the cloak.
