Maggie Smith(McGonagall) was battling breast cancer while filming part of the previous movie as well as both parts of Deathly Hallows. She pushed through and kept working because she didn't want to let the fans down, she's just as badass as her character. She made a full recovery and is still alive and well at the age of 88. Also Bill Weasley is played by Domhnall Gleason, the son of Brendon Gleeson who plays Mad-Eye Moody.

    "Why are you so scared?"
Lucius is on the thinnest of ice with Voldemort right now. One more blunder, if he so much as twitches a finger in a way that Voldemort doesn't like. . .it's Avada Kedavra right into oblivion.

Getting "splinched" is essentially getting a piece of your body caught between two places while Apparating, typically when one isn't focusing hard enough or changes destinations mid-cast. It's mentioned a few times throughout the books, and Harry notices that everyone instictively flinches when the word is said aloud. You can see why. lol

About moody dying offscreen, it actually happened that way in the books as well. Voldemort assumed harry would be travelling with the strongest person so went straight for him, Mundungus panicked and left immediately and voldemorts killing curse hit him right in the face 😢 and that was mad eyes eye in umbridges door

You missed last part. When Mundungus run away, Voldemort turned to Kingsley. Because he thought that Harry will be next to most powerful wizards.. When Mad eye dead, he chased Kingsley.. those were greatest wizards..

This fits his profile, because once he had Dumbledore out of the picture he just went down the list. Voldemort always got it wrong placing his bets on the most powerful, it is his arrogance that makes him think that only the great ones are a threat to him. And believing everyone and everything is drawn to power, he completely misunderstood the Elder Wand. To me, the Elder Wand had a personality and a memory that made it want to avoid those willing to unleash its deadly potential.

I feel like Petunia's redemption should be left out. because petunia is like, "I lost a sister, and I'm sad, but still I tortured and abused her only son under my care," like it doesn't... Makes sense, if you know what I mean?

    • @tearsinmycoke
      @tearsinmycoke 6 місяців тому

She didn’t apologize at all. She just acknowledged that she once loved her sister, Harry’s mother. Because she had never done that before when Harry asked or wondered about Lily. Petunia was still an absolutely horrible person, aunt and sister at the end.

    • @ghostspider2056
      @ghostspider2056 6 місяців тому +3

Well, in the book, she was merely touched by her son accepting Harry since he saved his life, she wanted to wish Harry good luck but held back and left.
As kids, Petunia did care for Lily and was protective of her, telling her not to use Magic as it was weird and away from Snape. Eventually she became jealous as Lily became their parents favourite when accepted into Hogwarts, Petunia sent a letter to Dumbledor hoping to also enter but denied. Lily who saw the letter with Snape said she would try to convince Dumbledor but Petunia got mad at her as it was private and called her a freak and they’ve become distant since.
They met a few times as Adults but didn’t go well. Petunia did feel guilty for cutting Lily out of her life but buried them deep down as well as her old hope of also showing magic to go to school with her sister. They grudgingly took Harry in but suppressed anything Magic related out of fear not just of Harry rebelling, but also if Voldemort would come and kill them too. Harry was surprised that Petunia was also familiar with Azkaban as she overhearing Lily and “the boy they knew” as kids, this sort of shows how the magic world meant to her and wished to be part of it.
She was horrified when Harry told them Voldemort was back and looked at Harry like never before. Harry eventually appreciated that his aunt was his mother’s sister.

@@justdan9264 i don't feel it was redemption so much as just stressing that it is very hard for people to totally not care about blood. i don't think he was close with petunia so much as he was able to remain cordial with both her and dudley. i think there was also supposed to be somewhat of a parallel with snape in that she both hated and did care for harry to some extent. petunia because of her complicated relationship with her sister and snape because of the different relationships he had with lily and james,

Harry HAS to go into the freezing water after the sword. Trying to call it with his wand won't work. Part of the magic of the Sword of Griffindor is you have to do something brave to earn its trust or else it will work like a regular sword instead of a magical one. Just because Harry had it before doesn't mean it comes to him without testing him again, either. So here both Harry & Ron pass the bravery test, as they both go after it, but the locket pulls Harry back & he's unsuccessful. Ron not only saves Harry from being drowned by the locket, he retrieves the sword too. So that's why the boys then decide Ron will wield the sword & Harry will command the horcrux to open using parseltongue.

You guys kind of touched on it, but I think there's a bit more to why reactions are popular. Like you said, the next best thing to watching a favorite movie or show again for the first time is introducing someone else to it and watching it with them. I feel like that's the kind of feeling that watching a reaction brings to a person: the same feeling you get when you share something you like with someone else who's never seen it. At least, that's how I feel when I watch reactions, and is the reason I love watching them.

Voldemort created six Horcrux, so that his soul would be divided in seven pieces (including the one living in his own body). It is believed that the number 7 is the most powerful number. An example of that is the fact that young wizards normally start to show their magic around the age of 7. Not just that, but the number 7 is actually very present in the books. Voldemort had always had an immense desire for power, so when crafting his Horcruxes, he made sure that, even then, he would still be powerful, so he decided to create six Horcruxes, so that his soul would be divided in seven pieces.

Finally you get to meet Bill Weasley, Ron's oldest brother (one of the two that had left Hogwarts before Ron started there). He and Fleur met each other unofficially before the third task of the Triwizard Tournament, where she developed an interest on him. The two worked together on Gringotts, the wizard bank, and eventually started dating and then, by book 6, they had become engaged to one another. Their relationship was not seen with good eyes by Mrs. Weasley and Ginny (and also Hermione), as they disliked Fleur, but eventually the latter was able to win Mrs. Weasley over after she proved that she really loved Bill. And the scars that Bill has were caused by the werewolf Greyback, the same one that bit Lupin. Those scars were supposed to have been made during the Death Eaters' invasion at Hogwarts, but that was changed. Because Greyback attacked Bill out of a full moon, he didn't become a werewolf, but he did developed a few lupine traits.
As a character, Bill is actually very cool. In fact, he is the most successful and most liked out of his brothers. Not only he was academically strong (something that only Percy was able to match), he was also very popular. He is also the most responsible out of his brothers and the only one to not be condescending with his younger sibilings (something that Ron greatly admires on him, since he was often teased/snobbed by his other older brothers). He was not only a Prefect, but also Head Boy (the very first of his family).

20:54 Hagrid is the least skilled wizard out of all of them there. While there is sentimental reasoning. In order to keep Harry alive you would think he would be with one of the more capable wizard. Which is why Mad Eye was target first by Voldemort. He’s the most capable skill wise to protect Harry. Like many reactors you are wrong: the resurrection stone does not bring people back from the dead, it merely creates an image of a dead person. Voldemort intentionally created 6 horcruxes as the 7th part is within himself. Everyone hit by Avada kadavra is dead except for Harry (green light spells are curses). Voldemort's name is cursed: when it is mentioned, protective enchantments disappear and death eaters appear. Hence they were in the cafe and appeared at the Lovegood's. If you think the death toll is high, it's nothing compared to the last film.

That snake eating the teacher scene takes place in Malfoy Manor; Voldemort has taken over everything that belongs to Lucius and he's in no shape to stop him.
When Voldemort tells Wormtail to 'keep our guest quiet', he's talking about poor Ollivander, being tortured in the Malfoy cellar.
And yes, Hedwig gave her life to protect Harry; Hedwig is dead.
The theme of this film is the tearing away of everything pertaining to Harry's childhood. He never sees Hogwarts or everyone he knows from there, the Dursleys abandon him, Hedwig dies, Ron takes off in a huff, he confronts his parents' graves, he's attacked by Nagini in the bedroom where his mother died, his original wand is broken, and then Dobby... Harry is left having to grow up and rely on himself (with a little help from his two best friends).
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
Yes, Fleur Delacorte (from the Tri-Wizards Tournament, the one Ron lusted after) is marrying Ron's older brother Bill Weasley.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
Yes, Dumbledore father DID kill 3 young muggle boys.
Albus Dumbledore had 2 siblings, his brother Aberforth and his beloved little sister Ariana. Ariana was very young and was caught doing magic by the 3 boys, who abused her for it. It was terribly traumatic for her, causing her to stop doing magic at all. Her father came after the 3 boys and killed them.
    Note:
The man in the pub where 'Dumbledore's Army' was recruiting students, the man who had a goat in the pub running around, THAT was Aberforth. Aberforth was very fond of goats, had a great affinity for them.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
No, Sirius died. You SAW him die. You heard the avada kedavra and saw the green flash. His body fell through the veil into the spirit world.
And everyone can see the archway; only those who have seen death can hear the voices.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
Sirius was the end of the line of the Black family; his will gave the Black family townhouse to Harry, including all things in it. Kreacher passes to Harry. Harry wanted to free Kreacher, but Dumbledore advised against it for a couple reasons. One is that Kreacher is over 600 years old and freedom would be very weird for him. A more important reason is that, so long as Kreacher remains Harry's, Kreacher is unable to do anything that would be harmful or disrespectful to the family Kreacher serves. Meaning Kreacher can be forced to betray Harry or the Order.
    Note:
The original voice of Kreacher (in Order of the Phoenix) was provided by Timothy Bateson, who died on 15 September 2009 at age 83; RIP.
The voice of Kreacher in this film is provided by Simon McBurney.

Umbrage was not taken away by 'minotaurs', it was centaurs.
Centaurs are a race of half-man/half-horse creatures. There are numerous myths about their origin/parentage, but the myths are diverse.
A Minotaur is a single individual born with the head of a bull and the body of a human man. His mother was the wife of the king of Minos; the Minotaur's father was a sacred white bull provided by the god Poseidon intended to be used as a sacrifice.

    About the Deathly Hallows:
Ancient legends, myths, and faery tales are oftentimes a form of oral history, however over time there is editing and embroidery to make a better story. The trick is to separate the hard facts from the floss.
The Tale of the Three Brothers is based on centuries-old fact, however there is also much window-dressing in the story documented in Hermione's "The Tales of Beedle the Bard". There is no sentient character named 'Death'. There was no bargaining or gifting by such a being; that's just embroidery of the facts. And as there is no entity named 'Death', the Deathly Hallows collectively or alone do not make the bearer 'master of death'. There is no evidence of the items conferring any specific advantage beyond what they were manufactured to do.
The facts are that there really were three brothers, the Peverell Brothers: Antioch, Cadmus, and Ignotus. There were wizards who developed three of the most powerful magical instruments.
-Antioch created the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand in the world. Being such a powerful device, a side effect of ownership is to be a target for every ambitious and/or power-hungry individual in the world.
-Cadmus created the misleadingly-named Resurrection Stone, an item that can be used to summon spirits from the grave. Notice I said 'spirits'. The so-called 'Resurrection' Stone does not return those spirits back to life; they remain in spirit form. Being held as spirits in the material world is an ever-increasing misery to them. The kindest thing is to release them as soon as possible. As any wizard will tell you (and as both Dumbledore and Sirius have stated before) there is no bringing the dead back to life; if anyone could, it would be Dumbledore.
-Ignotus created the Cloak of Invisibility. Other invisibility cloaks have been created, but the invisibility effect eventually wears out, requiring 'recharging'. Ignotus's Cloak continues, century after century, to need no 'recharging'. When Ignotus's time came to die, he initiated the tradition of passing the Cloak to the oldest son; this continued until James Potter's mother received it, having no brothers. Harry's grandmother resumed the tradition, passing the Cloak to James, who left it to Harry. Harry is a direct descendent of Ignotus Peverell, whose grave Hermione found under snow in the Godric's Hollow cemetery.
    Note:
Salazar Slytherin had a ring that was set with the Resurrection Stone in place of a jewel. This ring was passed down through the generations to Tom Riddle Jr's mother, which Tom turned into a horcrux. This means Tom Riddle Jr, aka Voldemort, was indeed 'the Heir of Slytherin'.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
When Xenophilius speaks Voldemort's name, you see what happens; this is why people say 'You-know-who' and the like. This is how it was in the First Wizarding War and how it is now in the Second one.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
You begin to see how Draco is reconsidering what side he's on when Harry & his mates are snatched and taken to Malfoy Manor. Draco is asked to give a definitive identification of Harry (because Lucius believes Voldemort would kill him immediately if Lucius claimed he has Harry it turns out it's not Harry). What you see is Draco KNOWING it's Harry but trying to avoid saying so. Draco has changed.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
Luna wasn't the 'guest'; that was Ollivander, being tortured with the Cruciatus Curse for his wand knowledge.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
    The Elder Wand:
All wands will change loyalty if their master is disarmed by an opponent; the wand adheres to winners, so will change loyalty to the one who disarms their master. A wizard/witch may have more than one wand and, upon being disarmed, all the loser's wands change loyalty to the winner.
Grindelwald as a young man broke into wandmaker Grigorovich's place, stunned him, and won the Elder Wand, escaping through an open window.
Grindelwald was disarmed by Albus Dumbledore in 1945, acquiring the use and loyalty of the Elder Wand.
Dumbledore, knowing Voldemort would come looking to the Elder Wand, limply took it out when Draco came without the nerve to kill Dumbledore; Dumbledore's intent was to convey the Elder Wand to Draco without anyone's knowledge. Draco, full of panic, reflexively disarmed Dumbledore but neither Draco nor Harry (who was hidden and watching) knew what disarming meant. Then Snape stepped forward in front of witnesses and killed Dumbledore, masking who the Elder Wand's true master was.
Draco is disarmed during the escape from Malfoy Manor engineered by Dobby. When Dobby drops the chandelier, Harry runs over and wrestles several wands out of Draco's hands, including Bellatrix's and Draco's personal wands. Losing his wand to Harry meant the transfer of all of Draco's wand loyalties, not just his personal wand but also the Elder Wand.
All wands will resist being used to harm their true master; they would rather crack or even shatter before harming their true master.
Dumbledore knows this. Dumbledore knew transferring the Elder Wand's loyalty to Draco would obstruct Voldemort's use of the Elder Wand. Likely the seemingly 'all-knowing' Dumbledore knew that transfer of loyalty would eventually move from Draco to Harry, making it impossible for the Elder Wand to be used to kill the Wand's true master Harry.

    Remember:
Lily Potter's love and magic can do no more than set a barrier against death; it can't bring anyone back (and the cost was her own life, a trade).
The Philosopher's Stone has been destroyed (besides, it only extends life, not restart it once death has occurred).
The Resurrection Stone only summons spirits, not put them back into bodies (dead is dead; there's no reversing it).
No magics can do more than extend what is existing, not undo after crossing into the Afterlife; every wizard/witch knows that (even magic has its limits).

Sad thing is that Luna is the adult in the house Lovegood. Her father, maybe through the gruesome death of his wife, is mentally unstable, though really clever. When they took Luna away, he fell apart. He can't cope without her, and not being allowed to write, he stopped grooming, sleeping, eating. This is the dark side of Ravenclaw, the risk of madness which takes so many of the brilliant minds. Luna on the other hand is very comfortable with her weirdness, which makes her a rock her father can lean on.

It’s actually not obvious that the Real Harry would be with Hagrid because that happened after Voldemort was defeated the first time and only a few people knew that. Also Voldemort is all about power so they went after the most powerful aurors until Hedwig tried to protect Harry. Interesting that since Tom Riddle was the product of a love potion marriage, he can’t understand protecting loved ones like Hagrid/ sentimental reasoning but as soon as Hedwig tried to protect Harry he trusted that was the real one. No love, but loyalty between wizard and creature he understood from Nagini. 🐍

The dance scene never happened in the book, it’s made up for film, even though book Harry said she’s more of a sister to him. So to add that is just plain weird.

    • @bidishah
      @bidishah 6 місяців тому +2

I think that scene is just so misinterpreted by most reactors because they missed out on the books. I love the dance scene, if that's an unpopular opinion then so be it. To me it portrayed their friendship so well, Harry was just trying to make Hermione smile and was being goofy. I didn't like how the director made it look like they were almost going to kiss or whatever. To me, they would never do that because they're like siblings. But some reaction channels get too deep when it comes to this scene.

    • @ghostspider2056
      @ghostspider2056 6 місяців тому +2

@@bidishah It’s one thing if it was just the reactors, but film intentionally added scenes of Harry and Hermione close with Ron being jealous from a distance which wasn’t in the book. Emma Watson admitted in an interview that the dance is intentionally meant to be that awkward moment between friends who may have romantic chemistry, that they’ve had a good reason to kiss.
Ron also never pushed Hermione or said to Harry “your parents are dead” in the book even with the locket on, Harry’s the one who said “my parents are dead”. They nearly got into a fight with their wands but Hermione stopped them from starting. All this was added to make Ron with Hermione look bad.
Now in fairness, the dance is was well executed, but just for the wrong characters. But what really happened was the two kept their distance while Hermione cries over Ron while Harry watches Ginny’s footsteps on the school map. If he wanted to cheer her up as a friend, the dance was not the way to go.

Bellatrix used a cursed blade that prevents healing, so there was nothing they could do about Dobby. And Hermione will be left with the scar forever. In the books she had a cut on the neck that didn't seem to close properly. Whether the curse simply slowed natural healing or completely prevented it is not clear.

Anyone who is shown the secret is then a secret keeper themselves. which is why Ron got splinched because Hermione was taking them back to Grimmauld Place, but Yaxley had a hold of them, so she kicked him off and changed directions midcast because with Yaxly shown the place, he could then bring in other death eaters, the place wasn't safe anymore after that.
