    Normally I watch guitar pedal videos on UA-cam and I wish the person would shut up and play, but Tore seems like such a lovely bloke, I just enjoy hearing him talk about the pedals, what a dude!

    This is probably a stupid question but why doesn't it have a dotted eight setting? Will the 3/8 setting create a similar effect?

    I liked this delay pedal but I have a doubt ... to make an effect close to The Edge (U2) what is the best delay, the tc electronic Echobrain Analog Delay or this TC Electronic The Prophet Digital Delay?

    • @trillrifaxegrindor4411
      @trillrifaxegrindor4411 3 роки тому +4

      the edge uses a multitude of delays and heavy processing,one pedal will not give you that layered delayed sound,he has a full time personal sound/effects guy crafting each delay sound to each song and tempo.turn off edges delays and he is a very very somewhat average,boring,semi skilled guitar player.he is an illusionist tbh

      @@trillrifaxegrindor4411 I know that he uses several delays and I am aware that only a delay will not give the same type of sound but still within these two that I mentioned I wanted to realize which one would be the best...thanks for your opinion/explanation.

    People are saying that if you ude pedalboards you get your signal digitised and flattened , .... if you use pedals you have the raw , organic , sound with better dynamics .....they make pedalboards with analog pedals in the chain , and then the put a DIGITAL delay at the end of the chain transforming the signal from analog to digital and from digital to analog again when the signal leaves the digital delay pedal .... am i missing something here ???? if you are gonna use a digital delay pedal , why not use a pedalboard .....

    • @slightlyannoying3956
      @slightlyannoying3956 6 років тому +1

      Digital refers to the character of the delay pedal. An analogue delay is usually more bass focused, cutting off some of the treble as the trail goes on, resulting in a softer trail. The digital delay is supposed to replay the signal unchanged, making it cleaner sounding. A tape delay does the same as the analogue but with a touch of modulation on the treble side plus some focused mids. An echo pedal usually reproduces the sound more rounded with lower volume at each repeat. Also, most cheap pedals today do all of the above in a digital way so there is practically no way to keep the sound "analogue". But a dedicated pedal will have a much better resolution and carry the sound in a more natural way as opposed to a multi effect unit that has one processor doing everything at the same time.
      In case you are wondering, a digital delay will give your sound some space and thickness, an analogue will give it a fading trail but lose some of the space and volume, a tape delay will degrade it more clearly and an echo will probably just try to stay in between of all the above.
      [edit: in the beginning of the reply i wrote the explanations of digital and analogue the wrong way around, fixed it.]

    • @slightlyannoying3956
      @slightlyannoying3956 5 років тому

      @@isaaccarney4684 most modern delays come from a DSP, so the difference is on what they are trying to emulate, not the actual manufacturing method. But i did explain the digital and analogue EQs the wrong way around, so sorry for that.

    • @meagainokay7673
      @meagainokay7673 5 років тому +8

      @barry h You gotta use pedals like this in your effects loop, not in front of the amp. If ya don't have an effects loop get a noise gate - problem solved. I have this pedal and it's very versatile.

    • @sal8964
      @sal8964 4 роки тому +1

      Make sure you also have it plugged in to a proper power supply since it is digital, which requires a higher draw. Using a daisy chain will only give more humming problems and what not
