I can't help to feel like this video was a swing and miss. And the disparity in the comments section is wild. Here's my take on the situation from an unbiased perspective I neither like or dislike jazz. In the terms of being a "star on the field,"he is not. Aside from a 1/3 of a season in 2022 his production according to OPS+ is slightly above average to average, sometimes even tipping towards below average. His offensive production last year was almost the same as Thairo Estrada's, is Estrada a star? Absolutely not. But he is useful. If you define "star" more in terms of name recognition than there is an argument to be made. Now, I've seen some in the comment section people saying "if he isn't a great player was he on the cover of a video game?" He is on the cover of the show because of his name and image, Mlb is trying to reach out to younger audiences and so they think putting someone with goofy hair, gold chains, and overall "loud" personality will bring more attention to Major league baseball. MLB wants to seem like it's hip and keeping up with the times so to speak. Now, I think it's a mistake to completely discredit the large number of Marlins teammates that allegedly had a problem with Jazz, think about it, there is players all throughout the league that play with the same energy and "swag" that Jazz plays with, and you don't see anybody on their team have a problem with them, at least not to this extent. Personally I think that there is more to the clubhouse issue than wearing tacky cleats and pimping home runs because that is so rampant in baseball these days and there is nothing wrong with that. The point is Jazz does play with a lot of intensity and energy and if that's bringing new fans to the game I think that's a good thing. However, it's a stretch to call him a superstar if we are just looking at his production thus far and I don't necessarily believe that the hate he has received from teammates is only based on his appearance and the way he plays.

Title changed on the video. Doesn’t help. You throw a man under the bus who has a reputation in the league about as good as it gets, who personally treated the creator and friends tremendously well, and who did nothing more than decline to shed his integrity, when convenient, because you’re a fan of a player. It wasn’t fun police issues, it was one player who believed that no rules should apply. This is bad and unfortunately I’m unsubscribing. I’m all for ending the old school rules, for emotion, but flips, and allowing players to have fun. I’m not for destroying a respected vet, who unlike the “misunderstood” star actually took time to meet with you, because creator is a fan of colorful cleats. That the title changed says plenty. Wish you the best, hope you do better.
Thank you for holding Miguel Rojas accountable for being two faced. Those veteran players were for sure jealous. Jazz wasn't afraid to express himself on the field AND was better at baseball than them. Deep down they envy his talent and resilience to conformity. Likely because they gave into the pressure to be like everyone else years ago. Baseball needs Jazz.

One thing you will never see the best players at anything do - be it baseball, boxing, chess, whatever, is be a victim. Jazz wants to play the way he wants to play, I have no issue with that. I have an issue with him acting surprised by his teammates reactions. It wasn’t right to cut up his cleats but Rojas was right when he said Jazz had no right to take that shit outside. Either nut up and play well or stop acting like you play for the Jazz show featuring the Marlins. He was born with talent but he’s got a weak mind, he never succeed.

Jazz is not an mlb star. He has never played more than 124 games in a season. He has never even hit more than 20 homeruns in a season or had a war higher than 2.5. If you want to get traditional his best single season average is .254! He is a very average mlb player who is way too cocky…. It was also not cool he hit a ball that tore Acuna’s Achilles and instead of caring about a guy crying in pain he was laughing and smiling because he just hit a little league homerun. Also every time I see his face it makes me think of mlb the show 23 which was the worst mlb the show since mlb 18.
Wow
Bro MLb the 18 was terrible. Ill never forget that
This proves how dysfunctional the Miami Marlins organization is
did the whole league retire the number 2?? did i miss something
All these hate comments are so funny lmaoo. Jazz literally plays to have fun and enjoy it. When he’s on the field, he’s great. Yeah he’s injury prone but he’s one of the better players when he’s on the field
He’s barely above average when you look at his numbers when’s he on the field so I’d say no he’s not “one of the better players.”
@@Wolf-wc1jsBarely above average means he's in the upper half of the league. So that would, by definition, make him one of the better players. Maybe you're also regular illiterate on top of being media illiterate, lol.
As a guardians fan, I’d love to have him
They picked him over Julio Rodriguez for the MLB The Show 23.
J-Rod already had the cover to a separate game; they couldn’t put him on both.
As a Marlins "fan," (tough to say I actually like the organization) I am anxiously awaiting the day we trade Jazz for money. Just money. And then not use that money for new players.
I need a Josh Willingham video.
Jazz is Rickie weeks and Grady Sizemore 2.0
He’s very good but all he needs to work on is contact
That's my Josh.
Dude the Israel Adasanya of baseball.
Jazz about to fall off hard after this vid, thanks SRS
Thank you for holding Miguel Rojas accountable for being two faced. Those veteran players were for sure jealous. Jazz wasn't afraid to express himself on the field AND was better at baseball than them. Deep down they envy his talent and resilience to conformity. Likely because they gave into the pressure to be like everyone else years ago. Baseball needs Jazz.
Being a marlins fan. Dude is a terrible hitter. He focus more on his style than the game itself. Wish he would just put the ball in play and let his speed take over but he rather swing out of his shoes
Sorry man he’s not a star
If he stayed at second he would be not in center though
like barry b benson i like jazz
Ask the dbacks if theyd trade zac gallen for him.
He whined bc "da owderrr teamie-mateys tweetedz mee badz". Wow what a hero who really overcame the odds.. lol
Jazz makes BB fun💯💯
I guess he makes it fun if your interested in looking like you sell rocks on the corner.
can't help but feel sorry that the Marlins are yet the only team without a win in the current season
I feel like it’s kind of unfair even to jazz to refer to him as a “star” at this point. He just hasn’t performed at a high enough level for long enough.
He doesn't even come close to having numbers on a HOF trajectory and he's 26 now. So that "backing it up" part? I'm sorry. I don't see it.
Did you know baseball gave us Jazz?
They gave up Gallen for this guy and hes not even close to as valuable
I feel like this comment section is putting so much stock in the word "Star". Yall do realized in order to even be an everyday player in a major league sport you need to be a "star" player. Mike isnt saying Jazz is the best Cf or even elite and top of the grade, Just that his charisma and style has made his Starpower shine brighter and how thats good even tho alot of old heads (and the comments) think its corny. If you actually are saying this video is overrating him than you dont have media literacy
How about he actually start putting upon the numbers to warrant him being a "star" before he acts like he's one?
@@Wolf-wc1jsThanks for outing yourself as media illiterate, I guess.
Without citing more concrete sources, the MJ not signing stuff shot is idiotic
Dude is mid
So baseball players are teenagers
Baseball and it’s fans need to GTFO with that get off my lawn nonsense with the flashy players. We need more guys like jazz Soto Ely Acuna etc we need to attract younger fans and young black kids to the game they think it’s boring and those guys make baseball fun loved the video brother 👌🏾
Jazz is the only thing going for the Marlins. Thank god for him or they’d be unwatchable
The people that want to watch Jazz, are the same clowns that buy shit because everyone else is doing it. Jazz looks like some clown who should be selling rocks on the corner.
Jazz’s comments on Trevor Williams is exactly what my JuCO coach said about me. “Damn I don’t know why no one wants to hit you, you’re not that good, but hell it works.” Same thing different generation. I always took it as a compliment.
overrated player tbh and his annoying comments don’t help
This is d1 glazing
I bet you love it now that he’s a yankee
I find it funny that Miguel Rojas was giving him issues. He sucks. Lol.
Exactly like how is Rojas a team captain? 😂😂😂
Love Jazz Chisholm
Ah yes, Chazz Jizzholm
Like a year ago my dad thought his name was Jizz Chazzhum😂
Stark, you didn’t think I’d notice the Lost music?!?!
You didn’t!?!
Anyone with blue hair is sign of I’m gonna be do my own thing to the point I’m gonna be a victim about something. Not surprised at all he didn’t get along with his team.
Not on the same level but he is reminiscent of deion sanders in terms of how he plays. People will notice the "antics" and not see the production. Heck of a player.
18 HRs and a career .748 OPS aren’t exactly hallmarks of a “heck of a player”
@@chasecarter7421 we'll it's more than just the numbers which was the point of the video.
@@rickybobbysdriver555 you're right. It is more than the numbers. It's the mediocre stats, coupled with the antics of someone who wishes they were banging selling rocks on the corner.
@rickybobbysdriver555 that's not how that works. Dear lord
I hate when when Rich privileged people complain
As someone who loves to play with some flare and passion I wholeheartedly understand Jazz’s situation in the clubhouse!
Jesus Christ is Love!
I like your videos a lot, but this one totally missed the mark imo
Lot of baseball “purists” in these comments who hate joy 😂 baseball is supposed to have joy, his name is Jazz- the music of joy
We’re not turned off by Jazz because we’re “purists” who “hate joy.” What a silly thing to say. We’re turned off by him cause he’s a potentially above average player who acts like he’s the Second Coming
He acts like he belongs back on the block selling rocks. No fucking class.
@@severianthefool7233He plays the game with passion, has some style, and isn't the most thoughtful speaker. If you think that equates to acting like he's the second coming, purist who hates joy isn't a strong enough term for what you are. Straight up delusional to a degree far beyond reasoning with would be far more accurate. For the sake of the people who have to interact with you on a daily basis, please seek professional help.
@@kami_in_the_skye You are very, very silly
@@kami_in_the_skyeWow… you didn’t read a damn thing he said… no critical thinking. Please don’t have children.
