    Had the same issues finding new pair of levers especially where i am from, there aren’t many accessories for the Honda CRF. Bought the same levers as you from China and it’s been working fairly well, better than I expected.

    I fitted very similar levers to my CRF300L last week and, like you, drilled out the clutch lever pivot hole but I also fitted a thin shim with the clutch lever to reduce the vertical play. I guess the gap between the jaws is slightly larger on the 300 than it is on the 250.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 роки тому +1

      Good point. I’ll measure them. I thought I had about the same play in stock as the replacement, but it may be that both needed a shim! I’ll check.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 роки тому +1

      I’m sure that in time proper 300 levers will become available. It’s just taking a while to filter down. The stock ones are fine, and it’s only really a thing for two finger clutch operations. The levers seem to be everywhere and are cheap. I just hope they last! (Though with the handguards there’s a fair bit of protection for them.

      @@PeakMotorcycles I ordered these short levers from e-Bay last week. It will take them a month or more to arrive. I’ll be upgrading the Rally with the skid plate, hand guards, tail tidy, exhaust, etc. from BikerzBits soon. The Double Take mirrors and the Garmin Zumo came in this week, as well. The mirrors are excellent. I got a set for the KLR, also.

    Hmm I just installed the zeta levers a day or so ago and they fit up perfectly. Zeta says it’s the same part number for 300 as the 250. Took a 60m ride with them yesterday and worked great. But I will say the clutch does come all the way back to the bar. I thought you had the red zeta’s. Couldn’t find those anywhere so I had to go with the black.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 роки тому +3

      I couldn't find any Zetas anywhere in stock, and these are just cheap copies from China from eBay. Interesting that the Zeta ones say that they fit both... I don't think I'm the only person who found the clutch lever needed drilling out. Maybe mine are for an earlier version of the 250? The levers I have definitely came with a 7mm hole and needed an 8mm to fit the stock bolt. I don't have a 250 to check I'm afraid.

      True, but it is short enough to clear two of my fingers when pulled to the bar, which was the aim. There’s also a reason there’s a ball or ring on the end, which I guess you lose with cutting the stock one. It is cheaper though.

    I recently bought these off ebay for my CRF250L, Part# ZS4-3101-3. I have the same issue, the clutch pivot hole diameter is too small. To enlarge it, I didn't dissemble the lever, no drill press, you can just put that pivot section on the edge of a piece of wood and use a hand drill to enlarge the hole. The 2nd issue is the thickness of that pivot area. It looks you have the same part number as mine but has a better fit, mine is much thinner than stock, had to use a washer to fill up the slop. Inconsistency of these parts? Also the stock lever has a brass pivot bushing. I think some of the nicer aftermarket levers have that also.
    I made a video showing the issues, ua-cam.com/video/Xl1LIMvxI_A/v-deo.html
