Arguably one of the best vocal Carnatic musicians of our times. Melodious, slow, deliberate with each piece evoking enormous "swaami-bhakthi" on the part of the listener. Singing along gives me even more divine satisfaction than chanting mantras and reciting prayers!

Shri TMK brings a sort of mellifluous atmosphere in all his concerts. He rightly enjoys all his accompaniments viz. violin,mridangamm,ganjira and even his own voice, which I find very rare!

I am not still able to reconcile that he is not getting the most prestigious award for Carnatic Music from MMA.
I am also not in agreement with Krishna’s political views.But how could that come in the way of his extraordinary talent being recognized.
I think MMA has become poorer by not awarding him.
I know of so many great composers of Western Music in the Renaissance age who were real giants ,but had their own take on Monarchy of their times.

@@muraliangappa9507 When TM Krishna learned music he sweared Semmangudi that he will respect traditions and will not do Brahmin Bashing to get Praise from Dravidian Politicians, Dravidian Media and Secular People. Infact it was Semmangudi who negotiated and arranged marriage with Sangeeta Sivakumar as Girls Father was never keen to give his Daughter. But colleagues in Vidya Mandir was of the opinion that he was an eccentric and a Nut even during School Days. After getting all the priveleges due to his Highly Economic Lineage (His Father is a Businessman), He started siding towards VCK Politician Kurumavalavan saying that he is his Guru. He removed Yagnopaveedham and threw it in Dustbin. His Antics are now known by one and all. But he still has not created a disciple from downtrodden society.

With due respect to concerts of TMK in the past , now a days he is pale shadow of what he was. His concerts now a days reminds od drupad of hindustani.. He sings all the ragas and kirtanas at slow pace and never tries to go to higher octaves.. Never attempts niraval, swaras, thillanas or any core songs.. Provably he is trying to establish a new style but at the cost of tradition and an abject failure and highly boring...an artist not trying to do justice to his calibre..my personal.views ..no offence to any one.
He literally sang neraval and kalapanaswarams both in this concert. He sings both in almost all concerts. In any case, it is a myth that singing kalpanaswarams is essential. Venna Dhanammal never played kalpanaswarams and both Brinda and Mukta avoided singing them, with Mukta never singing throughout her career. Singing fast is really not a requirement at all. This isnt a new style, it is a recovery of many old traditions. Mutuswamy dikshitar himself was deeply influenced by dhrupad for several of his compositions. Your comments reveal a shallow knowledge of the history and development of carnatic music and its scale and breadth.
