I know that with everyone stuck at home, a lot of you juniors are looking to start your college applications. I know that you may have a lot of questions, so I highly suggest checking out collegeadvisor.com/lour-drick to speak with Ivy League advisers to help you along your college app journeys. They've helped many students just like you all get into some of the best schools in the world, like Harvard, Princeton, and Yale, and they want to help you, too! So, feel free to stop by CollegeAdvisor.com to get a head start on your college apps!
you're such a great person - smart, quirky, genuine, thoughtful, and funny. watching your videos is making me feel better about writing my own essays and this whole process. thanks bro!
Don’t start now because essay topics change every year🤣 I would say start your common app/coalition essay in junior year and then start writing your supplemental essays for your school the summer before senior year. It’s way too early to do that now.
Hey there! Thanks for the vid :) For the open curriculum prompt, I didn't really understand how you linked your interests in languages with Brown's open curriculum, given that your essay was mainly focused on your interests (which could be applied to other university's prompts) with no mention of why the open curriculum in specific?
@@LourDrickValsote Right, so you mostly focused on the area you intended to study (languages) but moving onto the breadth within that field, offered by the open curriculum (the learning of the language + linguistics) .
I'm curious about your activity about building libraries in the Phillipines. Did you raise money for the initiative, or did you contribute in some other way? How did you do it?

i interpreted this prompt as more of a "why major" essay, but since brown does have its open curriculum, i could include multiple interests

I did a couple different things with them. I plan on making a dedicated video on it in the future, so please stay tuned.
@@LourDrickValsote I'm looking forward to it :)
