Just orientate the blower/intake hole 'upwind' of the outlet(s) !? So fumes drift away, especially if there is a decent breeze the day of op' , me thinks !
His has to be a joke? This is an explosion waiting to happen, this is a self "cleaning" unit and its purpose is to collect overfilled fuel and feed it into the engine when required, there is no need to take it off at all unless it gets broken! DONT DO THIS!!
Thanks for this vid' and service option !! I used compressed air as @um8440 mentioned earlier (at approx. 30psi) for at least 15min. outside; and then now inside for the heat, (with a window & the man-door open) lined up some of the heat from a semi-retired previously floor-based electric heater (now in the garage) into a funnel ...., primarily inserted onto one of the two entry/outlet points. I also did blow some air into the other alternate openings, to also confirm the better of the outlets. .... As the only hair dryer in the household, did not appreciate being funneled and would cut-out ;-) It seemed the most time spent on this proj. was carefully struggling (seemingly for at least half hr.) with releasing the in/out hosing from the carbon canister. {which being the thinner off-white canister style, was likely still the stock unit or replacement prev. to '97 aquisition of the F100 ;-) } . Had to ensure did not snap the connectors attachment from the stock' canister ! And my '82 F100 V6 3.8L M3oT 2wd did express appreciation, with a seemingly better start and run ! Although it is also due for a 'choke pull-off' upgrade, the next warm winter/spring day. ;-) Now also been meaning to squeeze/fondle/examine better the hose line to the carb (thru presumed TVV & then purge'V), since I still have some hosing leftover, from when I had noticed the short hose elbow length from the purgeV' into the carb, looked to be potentially compromised. Potentionally be 42yrs of even minor amount of residue' in that hosing, which will likely be another 15 min. struggle to release from connector(s) LoL ! While fresh-in-mind; Did the same 'temp-cleansing' routine the next day, for my '96 Sierra V6 5.7's 'canister, whose hose lines were easily released LoL ! .... a self-labelled -- "novice driveway mechanic" 8-)
...what does this accomplish? All the hot air from the dryer is doing, is drying up the activated charcoal, and possibly burning off some of the excess vapors 🤔 How did you come upon this technique? Thanks for making a video. ✌🏼
It’s not supposed to get wet and he drying up the gas .. this can cause your car to run rough and stall .. I took mine off once a dumped out the gas let it sit a few how’s than the car ran normal again .
Really ? Or you could use your hair dryer to force air ( hot ) into the air cleaner for more power ?? Perhaps a little more research on the subject could help
Be careful. Cheap electric motor near gasoline vapor

That's what I was thinking😂
How about just leaving it in open for a few hours? Like I can put it on my roof where there's no flame able items in scorching sunlight for a day?

Thank you
Thts a unorthodox method but imma try it
😂
What you do with the future vapour coming from the tank? Probably your purging valve is faulty .

correct
@@RedButtMonk Or you can use compress air and blow it, blow all the vapor and water out of there or gas.
