MIMI you done did it again! That should be your theme song 😂. I absolutely loved your tote bag…I was just looking at some bags for summer but I could get myself to pay close to $300…now because of you I am going to make a bag. Loved this! Did you do the base in the dark 1st and then added the light color? Did you use the rope from Walmart? I just came home from a class at my local quilt store hosting “A day at the spa with Kimberbell and we made a rope basket with a base that they put fabric and embroidery. Where can I send you a pic of the basket you inspired me to make. I showed everyone your UA-cam. Thank you for your generous spirit in sharing your creative gift & yes it is a precious gift. YESSSSS please do a video on the tassels….blessings and besitos 💋💨 ~ Maddie
Oh please send photos to my email mimitodd149@gmail.com. The dark color was added at the beginning and end of the clothesline rope. The other 2 shades were in the middle. I actually purchased this rope off Amazon. It was big but very soft. My favorite rope is the 3/16 x 100 feet of cotton from Walmart. Thank you so much for your kind words and shares! I deeply appreciate you! Yes tassel video coming up!
@@traceytowner176 I will be making one with the Walmart 3/16 rope next and my initial thought is it will take more than one package. Will keep you posted on how it goes with a video. 😊
@traceytowner176 I am making a tote using the 3/16” rope and it definitely takes 2 spools of clothes line rope. In the process of sewing right now I will let you know how many feet of rope I used.
Did you hear me screaming with delight when I found this video?! Gorgeous and the perfect gift for my sister's birthday! Thank you sssoooo much for sharing!
Did you hear my prayers? Oh, How I am in needed of this. Thank you You are amazing and a true gift to us all. Thank you for sharing your gift. I want to know more of the lining and of course the scrappy holder
Hi mimi ! You have amazed me again! This tote is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your talents! Yes, would like to see the tassel video! Happy safe weekend! 💗👋💗
I love your designs!!! I am new to making bowls. when I make a bowl I try to go slow while sewing. I have my zigzag on 4 width and it still leaves a gap! but when I go back it has been sewn but still looks like a gap! If I put my zig zag on three width do you think it will tighten up the gaps and I won't leave gaps as I sew? Or is it just trial and error? Thank you for any help you can give me!!!
I would try the 3 width. I too sometimes have gaps so that’s not uncommon. I watch as I sew and if I see a missed area, I stop and go back to fix it. You may need to try different widths and try to make the stitches closer together instead of long stitches. Hope this helps! Practice does make perfect!😊
Thank you! Excellent video!! It would be great to have the final measurements of the lining and seam allowance you use. It turned out great. I am not sure I could get it to fit right. If you happen to make another one, could you make note of it and possibly add it to the video? Thank you kindly!
Yes I will. This was my first attempt and now that I have it made I can come up with measurements for the lining. Will certainly be making many more of these totes. So thank you for asking and stay tuned! 😊
I love your video and thank you for posting it. I have a question. When the paint dries will it bleed or transfer color if it gets wet? If so is there a way to set the colors so this will not happen?
I looked at this rope but it looks like 3/16 rope. How did you get a tote bag out of 100 ft of this?Started my tote following along and 100 ft of my rope won’t even come close😢. Ripping out.
@@williamharris9791I did not use the 3/16 x 100 foot from Walmart for this project. If you use the 3/16 rope it will take 2 spools. Please don’t tear it out! You can add it to the existing rope by slicing and connecting the two ropes. The rope I used for this project came from Amazon. Here is the link Whitmor 100-Foot Cotton Clothesline a.co/d/05iMKsw3. It is a thicker rope and will make a tote with 100 feet. The thicker the rope the taller your project will be. Try to attach more 3/16 rope to your tote. Would the 3/16x100 work well for this bag from Walmart? Would it take more than one package?

Beautiful bag! What is the finished width at the top of the bag?
The tote is 15 inches across the top of the bag and the base is 9” across. The height of the tote is 8 1/2 “.
I love your video and thank you for posting it. I have a question. When the paint dries will it bleed or transfer color if it gets wet? If so is there a way to set the colors so this will not happen?
No the acrylic paints are permanent and I usually seal my projects with Mod Podge which protects it from dirt and water. Thank you for watching!

Is this washable with the water based paint and midge podge. I am wondering if the colors bleed out.
@@elizabethharper8902 I’ve never had an issue with the paint bleeding out. The Mod Podge seals the paint and makes the tote water proof.
How long was your handles
19 inches long.
How much water do you add to the paint?
I usually add about 3 cups of water to the metal bowl.
What diameter and brand of clothesline did you use?
This is a link to the clothesline rope I used in the tote project: a.co/d/0y3xm7v
