Antonio Pelizon, a trailblazer in violin making, established a renowned family tradition on the border of present-day Slovenia in the 18th and 19th centuries. His craftsmanship, marked by simplicity and meticulous detail, is especially notable in the intricately carved scrolls. Pelizon's violins feature distinctive upright and open F-holes, complemented by a delicate, golden-yellow varnish. His legacy was carried forward by his four sons, who continued the family trade with the same dedication and skill.
