i think what i'm most depressed about regarding Aqua's graduation is the lack of an original gen 2 song. i really wish it could have happened.
yeah like the closest we've gotten is Subaru's Starlight that has dedicated lines about all the gen2 members in it's bridge. It's very clear how dear she holds her gen mates
I really wanted that too. Subaru's Starlight is probably the best we'll ever get for a gen2 song. I hope for the non-zero chance Aqua would come back for an actual gen2 original but it really feels like that's an impossibly low chance to even consider

There’s something about hearing someone that’s usually so strong break down and cry that hurts more than you expect.
just goes to show that "being strong" has nothing to do with being happy and cheerful.
Just like Botan with Coco or recently Pekora with Aqua. It always hits extra hard when this happen because we usually see them so cheerful. Great reminder that behind the avatars there are real human beings. I glad at times like that they let their emotions out, it's painful but healthy.

People always have an image that Subaru is always cheerful and the one who always lead others when it's not actually true. She actually always worry a lot and just like she said in this stream, she keeps waiting for Aqua to be the one to lead 2nd gen to have event, original song, etc and now it's all too late.
I believe she can move forward from this so let's hope the best for Subaru too as we will keep supporting her.
Losing aqua is definitely gonna be felt for the weeks to come.

Nah she gets extremely emotional when playing RPGs. I've watched her play FFX, Persona 5, FF7: Rebirth and she definitely gets emotional during certain scenes.
Subaru taking to the sidelines and letting Aqua choose her future is such a bittersweet desicion since she wanted what's best for her friend even though they will not share the same stage anymore, but as long as their bond is still connected Exodia will forever be 5 parts.
Man... hearing Subaru cry hits different, you know? She's such a happy and positive person...

It was aqua who usually initiates like the yearly gen 2 meet. Its why subaru looks up to aqua and wait for her to lead.

You could watch some example when in subaru 3rd anniversary concert, she writes a message thanking aqua for leading them.

for a ray of sunshine like Subaru it's incredibly rare... I remember only one other time when Mio went to comfort Subaru after some of her birthday stream things fell through a year or two back.
She always hides her feelings. She takes her job as entertainer seriously. Always thinking about the fans and putting on a good show/face for everyone
when I first got to Hololive, during Coco's graduation, I remember clearly that Subaru and Botan cried a lot during their final Minecraft collab. At the time I was clueless but the viewers comment explained to me that these 2 were rarely seen crying. I think that was the most emotional cries from Subaru that I still remember to this day

Subaru really came a long way in her career from being the least viewed member of Gen 2 to being one of the most recognized. Aqua really was one of her motivators to make it that far so I assume her graduation really hit Subaru hard but I am sure she will stay strong. Thank You Aqua Minato
It’s so sad that she starts the video first trying to reassure us subatomos not be concerned for her and doing the whole thing to make us feel better, but then she really wear her heart on her sleeve and reveals her sadness to us.
I can’t help but feel for her when she saids she regrets not doing more, after all you only regret something once it’s gone. I know I’ve experienced it. She also doesn’t want to hold aqua back.
She then says things like “people are coming back to work and just watching me cry.” She seems like she’s been holding a lot of feelings back about feeing lonely and not quite having a group.
I really hope the best for our sad little duck. She seems like she’s been holding back. Wish her the best of friends and more.
Really unfortunate that Gen 2 just missed the purposefully "grouped" generations.
Especially for Subaru, who always seems like she'd love company.

I respect Aqua for making what I'm sure was a difficult decision for her future, so I'm glad Subaru wants to take that kind of step too. Even though she said she's fine and she didn't really want to talk about this to begin with, I hope getting all of this out there helps her feel better, even a little bit.

@@hieioni3354 I mean, it's not like you're forcing them to stay, if you enjoy something wanting more of it is natural, at some point all the members we know will leave, either they'll decide to pursue something different, get too old for this kind of work, the company will go under, whatever the reason they'll all be gone at some point.
However they're here now, so enjoy the moment and worry about the other stuff when the time comes, at least that's my take on it.

It's crazy that in 6 years they didn't have a group song. Goes to show that if everyone is busy with their goals, other stuff just doesn't happen automatically. Maybe this will spur gen2 into action to do stuff they haven't done yet. Relatedly, Mio also stated that she felt a new rush of motivation noticing how important she was to everyone when she was sick. SImilarly, Aqua's departure might inspire holomems to do things they still wanna do when there's a chance. That would be a fitting parting gift from the legendary gamer maid.
It's a sad day when the sun cries. Let's not forget that Subaru is from the same gen of Aqua. Choco is on hiatus. Shion is always coming and going, and Ayame is basically a ghost. Without Aqua, Subaru is now the leader of her gen.

@@UnaliqIt sounds less like her lack of streams is the issue, and more so that you're not really paying attention to her. Which is fine; no one's expecting everyone to pay attention to every holomem. Just say that instead of putting the blame on her, though.
I get it... Subaru wanted to do a lot as the whole 2nd Generation and had some ideas, but with Aqua graduating she had that one lingering regret of not being able to do it.
And in usual Subaru fashion she wanted to put on a brave front for us all so we wouldn't feel down about it.
It's okay to not be okay about the whole situation. She did go radio silent on the whole thing which was curious, but at least fair to not bring the mood down.
But I'm thinking she'll be okay eventually. Doesn't have to be tomorrow. Doesn't have to be in a month, honestly. But Subaru will be okay.

Exodia being their unofficial gen name isn’t without reason , Ayame and Shion often taking breaks, Choco-sen having a laid-back streaming schedule, and Aqua being super busy for most of 2021 to 2023, it’s understandable that they might have struggled to build a deeper bond with their genmates as quickly as other generations IMO. Subaru is really doing her best to be the glue of the 2nd gen, and I really respect her for that. Hopefully, even with Aqua no longer around, we can still see the rest of them shine even more brightly.

Anyone who's watched Onion for a long time lowkey knows she's the silent carry of her generation. It's not something you would see outright but something you'll slowly notice. Of course, her being an introvert makes it very hard to realize. It's probably also why she is/was a monumental pillar of Hololive. Everything from being cute, having a relatable personality, being a mechanically talented gamer, and one of the strongest desires to be an idol in Hololive, it's not a surprise everyone is saddened by her graduation. In one way or another, it's no doubt there's been a little influence of Aqua in every member from her generation onwards. She's certainly done her promise of dying everyone in her aquairo
It's really difficult situation with Gen 2. You can't really blame anyone for anything, but really, at least, as a fan, I hope they have that actual intention as a group to do something like any other gens. I don't want to say it's too late now Aqua is gone, but they still can start anew with the remaining four.
Seeing a friend leave is sad already, but seeing them leave after you've given your best efforts for them is much worse.

Glad Subaru could talk about this and not bottle it up, and I also personally hope that we still get a gen 2 live/song someday, even if it is without aqua I’m sure she would be happy to hear that her genmates are doing good and moving forward together.

Our poor sun. It's always painful knowing some people are expected to be the strong ones so they don't often have the same sort of support going their way. I imagine it's the Mio's and Towa's and the like that she goes to. I feel like she's passively talked about the distance between Gen 2 members several times, which is a bummer.

yeah i remember this. For a while, I always thought subaru was part of Holo Gamers because she would often collab with Mio, Okayu and Korone. So much so that "SMOK" became a fan name for this group. I was surprised to find out that Subaru is actually Gen 2 and not part of Gamers.

We too get all this time for granted. 6 years. Seeing them leaving by they own accord is actually great. Coco parting was bittersweet but the rest were kind of traumatic end. These girls wont be there forever so treasure the moments they gave us and Clip them so they wont be forgotten, XD

I mean...Subaru had Aqua and her genmates in her heart as she climbed (read: skyrocketed) these past few years. Yes. But I hope she remembers that, at the end of the day, that growth is her own, too. It sucks that she lost the chance to put together a song or a live with all of gen 2. But this neverending journey to become stronger, kinder, more radiant, more dependable...she hasn't lost any progress there. Wherever Aqua goes, you can bet she'll keep cheering Subaru on.

When I think of "how hololive would be without this girl?", there are some that I think would be missed, but we would go on, and some that I think would be like ripping a chunk of flesh from hololive, but we would move on. Subaru is neither, I can't think of hololive without her. She is free to do what she wants, and when the day comes we will all be sad while truly wishing her all the best, BUT PLEASE GOD AT LEAST LET IT NOT BE THIS YEAR, WE LOST TOO MUCH ALREADY THIS TERRIBLE YEAR. FAMS , ShubaLunaCHocoTan, SMOK is just as valid of a bond between holomem. Of course it would've been ideal to stick with the same gen. Subaru herself has always been a free spirit that can form any gen member into a unit of their own. That said I didn't realize she felt precious about their genmates bond enough to cry about it and i feel sad for her. To think that she always kept a front for her listener by keeping a happy go lucky attitude...i felt that. That duck just don't want bring distraction to the forefront. She'll keep insisting the world around her listener is okay because she herself is okay. That's just so Subaru.
