We've done three oil changes in that time and filled it up with gas (much less than we used to, a tank lasts a month or more.) I like the Bolt but I'm not spending $42K CAD for this level of quality.
The Bolt does not have a transmission - it has a gear set to reduce RPM from the electric motor to the drive axles. You may well have an issue there, but at least try to research and understand the cars before you review or critique them.
It is a little confusing, it show half battery levels using average energy usage range. So if you drive easy, with this half charge you can hit this top level of range shown, if you are out on the highway you are likely to hit the bottom range listed with this half charge.

Transmission??? Those cars don't have traditional transmissions and gear shifting. They have gear reduction drive units. I guess that's what you were referring to.
Don't fool yourself, buying an electric car will come back and bite you in the A$$ .... as it did my family ! ... Forget Batteries ! ... an lets move on to a newer energy source that won't poison everybody on earth !!
No transmisson it is electrical engine and GM firmware manages EV. By the way according to General Motors is bringing artificial intelligence into the vehicle inspection process.
The biggest problem I see with the Chevy volt euv is the charging time, max charge rate of 55kw. This is bad for long distance travel, since it takes over an hour to get to 70%, 2hours to max change since it slow the kWh over time.
(1) There is NO transmission... evidently that was a "lazy" programming error. A simple 10 minute firmware update fixes that. (2) Have the dealer (under warranty) address the steering noise AND paint issue. Both are warranty issues. (3) Please... Dude... WASH your car every so often!! ...especially before you do a video! 😊 Our 2022 EUV Premier (purchased last July) has been excellent. We also had the "Service transmission" glitch. The only other minor issue was the tires were underinflated - which showed up last November when cold weather hit. I added air to the tires, and no TPMS warnings since. It's a stellar car!! Just be glad you didn't buy a Chrysler product! 😵
These are typical chevy shit problems, take it back and get your money back. If you want quality and the best warranty in the industry buy KIA OR HYUNDAI.
My 2020 suburban had the same issue with the steering column making a grinding, ticking sound only in the morning. Took it in 3 times and finally, it was fixed but has started doing it again my wife said. uuuuhhhhhh
Transmission - dealer needs to install a software update to fix foam - known issue...there is a TSB on it if im not mistaken Steering wheel - not too sure about lift gate handle - is a rather weak point, not sure what they're going to do to fix
Steering wheel is an uncommon but known issue. Cannot recall the details, but it was an easy fix for the dealership. Liftgate is annoying though - a power liftgate would have resolved this, too bad they cheaped out on that.
This EUV is cheaply made although it is popular and only available passenger EV model under Chevy brand . GM should more focus on this model instead of more expensive models that has unnecessary functions.
There shouldn't be any of these issues on a brand-new car. These are factory problems that need to be addressed. I have bought many new vehicles before. None have had this many issues/problems from factory. The point of this video is to say HEY CALIFORNIA! we aren't ready for only new electric vehicle sold in 2035. The MANUFACTORS are DEFINETLY not gonna be ready for HIGH production with all these flaws with low production
I'm in many EV groups. Overall the Bolt's have far fewer major issues than the other brands I've seen. Yes, annoying issues, but not major. The transmission I can see how it would be alarming, but it was a bad batch of software that was faulty, not a hardware issue.

What happened?
@@cilonen nothing. That’s why no reply
"Battery fire". I know they "fix" the problem but that alone should have made you stay away from this EV.
EVs dont have and dont need transmission. Maybe a gearbox but definitely not transmission.
I can tell you exactly what the front noise is. The factory didn't put any grease in the ball joints.
"Hey babe, I'm gonna make a thumbnail can you take a picture of me facepalming in front of the car please? This is gonna do numbers."
"Hey babe also I need money to give away to people who can like and subscribe then just unsub after they win it" lmao
The steering wheel grinding noise is really annoying and the paint quality issue is also a shame. Chevy you can do better than that !
Sounds like plastic rubbing for the steering. I didn’t think EV’s had transmissions?
No transmisson it is electrical engine and GM firmware manages EV. By the way according to General Motors is bringing artificial intelligence into the vehicle inspection process.
It is not an electrical engine, it is a Electric Motor. Engines run on fossil fuels. Man i wish people would learn the difference.
The biggest problem I see with the Chevy volt euv is the charging time, max charge rate of 55kw. This is bad for long distance travel, since it takes over an hour to get to 70%, 2hours to max change since it slow the kWh over time.
Update please
looks like you damaged the paint when you opened the rear hatch.
That's right, if you hadn't opened the hatch there wouldn't be the problem.
At least its under warranty.
There is a lot of weight in that front seat have you exceeded the vehicles carrying capacity?
What do you expect? You bought a chevy! All their vehicles are crap 😮
Our 2022 EUV Premier (purchased last July) has been excellent. We also had the "Service transmission" glitch. The only other minor issue was the tires were underinflated - which showed up last November when cold weather hit. I added air to the tires, and no TPMS warnings since. It's a stellar car!!
Just be glad you didn't buy a Chrysler product! 😵
Is this a new or used car. Good God. This car seems it's been wrecked.
Maybe the steering nose letting you know you're turning
Interesting idea, maybe it is also a case of "They all do that, don't worry."
These are typical chevy shit problems, take it back and get your money back. If you want quality and the best warranty in the industry buy KIA OR HYUNDAI.
What do you expect GM junk.
My 2020 suburban had the same issue with the steering column making a grinding, ticking sound only in the morning. Took it in 3 times and finally, it was fixed but has started doing it again my wife said. uuuuhhhhhh
I had the same steering wheel noise issue on my Hyundai Palisade. Took it in and the faulty bearing was replaced
My secondary transmission broke on mine after a week
What secondary transmission?
@@Davran2742 it's the gear assembly in-between the primary case and the final unit. It was in and out of the shop for months
@@macbook802 sorry for your problems, good reason for the rest of us to go elsewhere
,
Thank you I was gonna purchase one .I decided to go with another vehicle.
How can it not shift. It's electric. It's a single motor driving the wheels. And yes. Out of all the years I've owned Chevy products. This is typical.
Transmission - dealer needs to install a software update to fix
foam - known issue...there is a TSB on it if im not mistaken
Steering wheel - not too sure about
lift gate handle - is a rather weak point, not sure what they're going to do to fix
Steering wheel is an uncommon but known issue. Cannot recall the details, but it was an easy fix for the dealership. Liftgate is annoying though - a power liftgate would have resolved this, too bad they cheaped out on that.
Would have helped your video sound if you turned off your temperature controls and fan.
This EUV is cheaply made although it is popular and only available passenger EV model under Chevy brand . GM should more focus on this model instead of more expensive models that has unnecessary functions.
The serious profits are always in the luxury models.
It should be at least one screw and not only clips..... they forgot the masking tape...
Those issues are just part of owning GM vehicles. Nothing new to see here
Well, it’s a Chevy
All of the issues are warranty easy fixes….
What about when Warranty expired, that will come out from our pockets.

@@Annngelooo not if you don't buy GM
Bolt does not have a traditional transmission and it does not shift as traditional transmissions do.
Yes I’m recording 😂
My 2007 Hyundai Elantra with 340,000 miles on it has Electric Power Steering and it makes NO noises whatsoever.
Liked and subbed
Man, you bought a Chevy! What did you expect?!
I thought Tesla owners were the only ones who whined about little issues of their cars.
GM, Chevrolet are building crap!!!
G M C ( GARAGE MANS COMPANION ) My oh my GM has gone downhill in a big way.
American workers just don't care. It not in our culture. Japanese are just better people overall.
@@jaym9846 long GM cultural heritage of profit over quality
Is this what you call major problems?? Waa waaa
I was thinking about getting this car but probably it’s a better idea to stay away from GM cars…
the first problem is his dealership has bad knowledge of bolts most of his problems can be fixed with software updates
I'm in many EV groups. Overall the Bolt's have far fewer major issues than the other brands I've seen. Yes, annoying issues, but not major. The transmission I can see how it would be alarming, but it was a bad batch of software that was faulty, not a hardware issue.
@@dane9193 bolts do not have transmissions the have a shift by wire system there are three gears that make the bolt go forwards and backwards the ecm module tells the bolt to go forwards or backwards thus shift by wire
@@shinukage8573 I was referring to the error the video creator commented on, which literally says "Transmission unable to shift soon, schedule service." GM's wording, not mine. Take it up with them. ;-)
@@dane9193 i know my bolt got hit with the same software bug they updated my ecm and no more idiot light or Diagonostic error code they also updated the diagnostic software and that fixed an app issue that said you were critically low on oil
Sounds like a GM thing
