RANGE PROBLEMS!!! THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CHEVY BOLT EUV...
The real range on the Chevy Bolt EUV isn't all Chevy said it to be. Its all a bunch of lies. And they don't mention the winter range when you buy one. Its causing problems for my family as we are using this for our main transportation. I strongly recommend no one buys a Chevy Bolt EUV! Please don't waist your money and get stuck in a 5 year loan like I did.

2023 CHEVY BOLT EUV SUPER CRUISE (SELF DRIVING)

This is the super cruise feature on the new 2022/2023 Bolt EUV.
From Spring through fall my average is 4.8 mi/kwh. This guy must have a lead foot on top of running the heater at 80 degrees. I'll be he goes 70-80 mph on the highway.
Zero research done here, this is common for that type of range loss in the winter. Chevy didn't lie to you, they just put a * next to the range.
If you're pounding a city car down the freeway at 80mph, there's your problem. You bought the wrong car for your needs. NO EV is going to get best mileage in the worst possible conditions, but maybe if you paid more and got an EV with a greater maximum range then you'd have something that works for your madcap driving style and still gets you home to charge overnight. Nothing wrong with the Bolt, it's just not a good fit for you.
Is it more exciting to repair just for being a EV car?
Either he has some problem with the car or he blasts the heat up and drives hard. Here in Western NY state, we often get 0° in January/February. I usually get around 195-200 at 100% state of charge. I usually set at 85%, so I'll get about 180 Heat at 68. Most of my commute is on Freeways. Usually at 65 mph.
learn to research before you buy... you have a ton of information you can collect... dont blame anyone but you
Dude... If these are your range / mileage experiences something is WRONG. I live in central Kentucky and the last two winters our Bolt easily maintained good cold-weather range. We achieved an average actual range of 201 miles at an average winter temperature of 38 degrees farenheit (2022). This past winter (2023), we got an average actual range of 206 miles at an average winter temperature of 43 degrees farenheit. The Bolt was our first EV so we kept -and still keep- pretty good stats on it. We got it new in July 2022, and it now has just over 45,000 miles on it. The cost per mile to operate our Bolt is just under 3.8 cents per mile. I am NOT a GM fan at all, having sworn them off in 2008 when my new Silverado had so many problems I had to take legal action, and GM bought it back. I have to say though, the Bolt has been surprising me in many good ways since we bought it. My partner bought an Ioniq 5 in February of this year, and I can tell you this family is not going back to ICE vehicles. I cannot imagine any circumstance where that would happen. I said all that to say this... Get the Bolt checked out for sure. If your range/mileage is actually as bad as you're saying, there is something terribly amiss. You have a pretty decent little EV in the Bolt ---a really good one in my opinion-- and I want you to be able to enjoy it. Good luck to you! 🙂
that guy is a right! EVs are far from complete yet. winter and high speed is nightmare
My steering wheel column clicked like this until they replaced the whole thing. Apparently there was an issue with cracked welds that would cause that? It drove me insane until they finally replaced it. No more annoying clicking sounds when turning the wheel, at least for now.
If anything the Chevy EUV under estimates the miles unlike a Tesla that never is close to their estimated rate. Most people I hear get well over 250 and over to 300 miles. Slow down buddy - it’s great to be young but slow down your pedal
I have gotten 350+ a charge driving the back roads with a light foot, in the summer. 200 in the winter with the heater. Something wrong is with your car take it to Chevey
If you still have your Chevy Bolt and your tapping out your range all the time, keep your eye out for 3rd party inventions like the one I'll link too below: They're not cheap in 2024 but one day rooftop accessory's like this we'll be as low as 1500.00 I suspect and offer another 45 miles of range, ua-cam.com/video/Smt5GhTGIvM/v-deo.html
Fuck GM piece of shit car company got bailed out by the American people all there shit is shit
No worries, I often see cars on 101 at night @100ish mph, no officers to be seen.
Your car was built on a Monday or a Friday. 😂
My bolt gets 270 easy in the summer. If your not getting that, either your driving it 80mph on the highway or you battery is defective.
All mechanical systems fail that is the answer I got from a chevrolet dealer.
This is b.s. We own two 2022 Bolts; both get us to San Diego and back to Santa Monica with about 20-30 miles of range to spare. That’s a 268 mile round trip dude.
My bolt 2022 ev 1lt at 80k miles can’t shift into reverse
I'm currently renting this car from Uber and it is definitely a fun car to drive
Me too and I’m considering to buy one 😬 let’s see.. the only downside is that you cannot go on road trips with it.. 😞
I'm a Uber driver and currently I'm driving the 2023 Chevy bolt euv does this have the same function? I see that there is a button near the battery charger that allows you to stay in the lane as well what is that one used for?
Thank you for the review. Did you had the issues fixed? I am considering buying a Bolt EUV. Thank you. How is the suspension and steering when you drive in the highway? Did you gave away the gift cards you mention in the video?
sorry it didn't work out for you. but a little homework would let you know electrics aren't rated for range in highway driving. pushing wind is the biggest factor in reduced efficiency. 65 would make a big difference in use. so would pre-heating it before leaving to let any battery heating be done by grid and not battery. 10-15 mins. i just bought a 2023 bolt euv for it's features and space. i have no problems with range in even colder temps.
This seems to be the only vehicle it works right on.. The trucks, i assume are too wide and as a result they ping pong back and forth in the lane, and it's dizzying.. this looks like it's able to hold more of a fluid center without that effect. It's really too bad GM killed these, they were pretty good..
I pay 26000 for that car no f way i was going to pay over 30 for only 200 miles. I got the red line. Im just hoping to go easy on it i do a lot of free way driving.
Would have helped your video sound if you turned off your temperature controls and fan.
the thumbnail picture made it look like it would be bigger problems
This is possibly the worst electric vehicle to purchase...I bought one 6 months ago and now trying to sell it....just save and buy a used Tesla...garbage car
Thats exactly what i get. I also feel i got cheated.
Whats your lifetime mi/kwh ?? Range is purely based on how you drive. In city i avg around 4.5mi/kwh & om freeways i avg around 3.5mi/kwh. Check your avg, that should tell you a lot
just after 7 months I saw a battery degradation in my Chevy bolt EUV from original 248 miles to 221 miles. Is it because of winter ?. I don't know. The charging speed is also not great. It goes down to pathetic 22 Kw from the initial 52 Kw on a DC 350 KW super charger.
The biggest problem I see with the Chevy volt euv is the charging time, max charge rate of 55kw. This is bad for long distance travel, since it takes over an hour to get to 70%, 2hours to max change since it slow the kWh over time.
Has the steering noise been resolved or does it still occur? Also does it pull to one side or track straight on the road?
Are your windows down wiser so much noise?
It interesting how one UA-cam video a guy swears the Bolt is great and scroll down and this video he says don’t buy the Bolt.
Click bait. Show your efficiency. My range is great.
Bought a 2023 bolt euv and mine has had no issues at all
Still a piece of poop
1st week brand new 23 euv USB charge port not working. Anyone with same issue?
How you drive is a major influence. I drive on the highway about 80% of the time. I get 225 miles at 85% charge which would be 264 miles at 100%. In winter I charged to 93% and had 200 miles range with the heater on almost all the time. The key is to have the heat on while still plugged in so that you don't use so much battery getting the cabin warmed up at the start of your trip. Note that I live where we get cold winters.
Just be glad it doesn’t catch fire
Mini Honda Odyssey lmao
Those things have transmissions?!
Fresh off the lot? Wow
Yes I’m recording 😂
Just have to say, we just hit the two year mark with our Prius Prime and there is literally nothing wrong with the car. We've done three oil changes in that time and filled it up with gas (much less than we used to, a tank lasts a month or more.) I like the Bolt but I'm not spending $42K CAD for this level of quality.
does this car have more acceleration than a base model 2021 subaru crosstrek?
A lot more!! It has 200 HP and 266 ft/lbs of instant torque.
Yes
i have the same problem with steering making noise like you described.
This video shows him talking about this parked while still pulling 8kWh. He obviously had just turned on the heat. This will impacted the "guess-o-meter" significantly" I was a bit disappointed with my range initially as I purchased a 2023 EUV in October. Road trip with 2 people and heat gave me 200 miles. Now after the weather has gotten warmer I have been averaging 5.4 miles per kWh or 351 miles projected at 100%. Highway trip with 4 people netted 4.2 miles per kWh. Driving style is everything.
interesting. still having issue?
