I heard Micky Ward was helped by Lowell, MA boxing coach David Ortiz in his amatuer days. Not many people bring that up at times. Those are the coaches who make your foundation in boxing. Micky is a great guy, he helped a boxing gym in Arroyo, Puerto Rico and donated Everlast boxing equipment. How many Irish boxers can you say have done that? None that I know of. Mickey O'Keefe is also a great trainer/ conditioner. Thank you Micky Ward
Wonderful indeed !!! Micky is such a great guy and fabulous boxer. We enjoyed having he and Dicky with us for the International Boxing Hall Of Fame weeks over the years.
Cus D'Amato said the better character can beat the better boxer, I think Mr.Ward won alot of those fights because of his outstanding character, a man of true grit. One of my favorite fighters of all time!
