The problem is when orthopedic doctors always recommend physical therapy before they will even order an mri. So you waste 8-12 weeks doing that, to find out it doesn’t work. Then they order more imaging. You waste dam near a year. In mean time, nerves are being damaged even more!

Thank you for all the information. I had acdf surgery 1 month ago on C4 to C7, I think. I had hypereflexes and a huge problem walking. I'm 47 and I was walking like I was 80. Suddenly realized I could no longer walk fast or run at all. My left low back had been hurting for several months. I thought it was my low back causing this. Then, my left arm and leg had a numbness. Then, my abdomen and back feel as though I have something wrapped around me, but the skin is numb on the surface also. I look pregnant, frankly. My belly is swollen and I'm taking stool softeners and laxatives. My weight hasn't changed in about a year. It's just a very uncomfortable feeling. Like I have something holding me from my bra strap area to my lower body, all around me.
I apologize for the long text. I just have felt no effects yet and my doctor doesn't seem to think much will change. But this weird feeling around my torso, I just dont understand. And I'm not sure my neurosurgeon understands either. Please, give me your opinion. I need some direction. I've applied for disability and am waiting. I can't work as a server, using a cane. I know you cannot give me actual answers, but any ideas or thoughts on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.🤗

Hello, I'm dealing with some of the same issues at 41. I have surgery scheduled for next week. Since it's been over a year how are you feeling now? How are your symptoms?

My MRI showed at both C5-C6 and C6-C7 moderate to severe canal stenosis and cord flattening, bilateral foraminal stenosis, and posterior bone spurs. My symptoms have been slowly worsening with numbness on my fingertips, neck pain and tingling between my shoulder blades, unsteady hands, balance issues, and positive Hoffman. Bending my neck back greatly aggravates the numbness on my fingers and neck pain almost immediately.
Does the immediate worsened numbness on my fingers from neck extension indicate compression of the nerve roots or Meyelopathy compression of my cord?
How severe do symptoms need to get before surgery is recommended?

    Hello doctor. Can I ask.
I have numbness and loss of sensation in my both palms along with some relative mild muscle weakness in my fingers. It feels like I have pressure in my palms making it a bit difficult to move my fingers.
I also experience tightness in the diagram, balance problems and hyper reflexes in my legs. When I move my neck it feels like a nail of sort push in the spinal canal then I get light uncontrolled movements in fingers, weakness in hands and feet It have a constant feeling of vibration in the lower part of the body.
also sometimes when I lay down and try to sleep it feels like I’m drowning. I’m scared
I suspect myelopathy but I can’t do any surgery do to another condition called Tourette’s which cause tics and spasm and the source of the damage in my neck
Can I survive whiteout surgery? I’m scared and I don’t know what to do.

Your room is waaaay too live to record video in. Its boomy and has unpleasant resonance. Office dividers placed around you will help.. that and furniture also. All the best.
