Hey up manuel I thought the same mate and you have to remember that this part of the fire wood process is one more part of getting warm before just sitting in front of a burner
From what I've seen, Momma Squatch is a fine lady. I agree that it is nice to see her again because she is not afraid to go outside and work with the men in her family. It is good to see that she is a very good partner with Senior and obviously a great mother for Squatch. So with all respect and honesty, it is good to see her. She is a credit to her gender.
Fantastic job! My pal made a spray booth in an old shipping container. Fully insulated, heated and vented so he can paint all year round 😊 something to consider in the future. Keep up the fab content, good luck from chilly Scotland 😊
Squatch, nice to see your mom in a video. I’m soooo happy for you and glad you got that weather window to get the sheet metal sprayed. I don’t blame you for not videoing the spraying operation. You did the right thing there 100% concentration on the job at hand and it turned out absolutely perfect. Thanks for sharing your fantastic news.
She definitely isn't afraid of work. I wouldn't be surprised if she one day makes a guest appearance in the shop to help with soothing X231's nerves when Squatch does the first start.
I can hear my dad as if it was yesterday …. “ If you had time to do it twice …. You had time to do it right the first time !! “ We’ve all been there …. The big difference is knowing how to fix an issue, and have the patience to wait until you get everything you need to complete the job. I would say, in this case, the results speak for themselves !!! Great job !!!!
In autobody school, we were always told 20-30 psi inlet on HVLP style paint guns. I always found 28psi to be my go-to for a nice atomization. In the end, its always the painters discretion 👍
My old DeVilbis HVLP always liked 20-ish, but then I got this new 3M gun and it’s a completely different animal - this one has little to no pressure drop from the inlet to the nozzle, whereas most others lose several psi 👍
@@squatch253 3M is still quality even today. One of the few big companies that haven't yet cut corners to make circles. Every time i get something good for the stuff i need, i stock. I don't even look, because i know it's quality.
The paint looks fantastic this time! One other thing you can do-if you have any older halogen flood lights(150-500 watts), you can point them at the metal as it dries. The UV from the lights will help the paint cure even better.
I Was shocked about the highlight in your video! That made my day to see myself in one of your videos! What an amazing finish you got on your tin work! Can’t wait to see the finished result. The h has come a long way.
🤩 OMG so much better looking 👀 great job. 🫡 Sir ! Thanks for NOT making that paint video because my OCD just couldn’t take anymore. Seriously We totally understand time constraints issues and priorities. Thanks for the update and advice.
Paint laid down great Squatch! Very lucky to catch a break with the weather to be able to do that. I have a couple of paint projects to try and get done myself before winter really sets in. I can paint in my shop, but I hate to do that because of the mess and all the stuff I have to move out or cover up. Even with the adequate exhaust and airflow I have, it gets everywhere using single stage urethane colors, which is what I need to spray for my Wheel Horse 520H. I can spray base/clear without so much mess, but that would be kind of cost prohibitive on a tractor project, although I have used it before for that purpose.
While Success is sweet -- it's the result of a dedication to attending to the details -- a great lesson to everyone - thanks for sharing the "process" of getting there and the growth that comes from it. Stay well
Agree with the others... 100% better paint job than those coming from the factory! AND... glad to see log cutting and splitting work underway... we could smell the fresh cut wood, ha.
My dad had a auto body shop so I was raised around paint. You are starting to sound like a auto body painter. Did a lot of it myself, needless to say my first job was a disaster. Just takes time and practice.
Hey up mate i preferred the orange peel look don't know why you bothered (total joke i hated it) really glad you got that window on a side note i did leave a message asking what brand that new gun was (because I'd looked and couldn't find the video) didn't get a reply but was interested as liked it's consumables when you first showed it, nice work those panels look great
That’s a “3M PPS 2.0” spray gun, the PPS stands for Paint Preparation System, because the nozzles and paint cups are disposable, leaving only the main frame of the paint gun to have to clean 👍
I expected you to show all the paint settings written down in a notebook. Probably not a bad idea after all the experimentation setting up the spray gun.
You’re right on track though, I have all of my best paint batch settings written down in a log book that I keep in the same box as the painting equipment 👍
Sure glad your weather made it for you! I may have missed it on which day you sprayed but I know it was foggy as all get out on day but I don't remember it being warm that afternoon. I do remember the next two days being windy as all get out though. Have gotten your loft all organized?
It was last Friday that I sprayed, started out very foggy but turned nice between 1pm to 3pm, spent most of that morning getting everything set back up for painting not knowing if it was going to clear off or not, but I rolled the dice and it worked out great :-)
It’ll likely end up staying in the shop here, because I don’t keep the other property plowed out all winter that means after the snow starts falling it’s usually a no-go zone 👍
Happy to see you decided to fix the paint, that would have bothered me forever as well! Especially after all the detailed work you did on the rest of the tractor! Just curious, I still don't understand why you repainted vs. just wet sanding and buffing the paint?
Wow! That turned out amazing Toby! Well done! Can’t wait to see Preparation H all finished and tucked away for the winter. Thanks again and looking forward to seeing what comes next
Nope, everything else up to that last faulty batch turned out great. Like I said in the video, that unplanned extended delay due to needing to have eye surgery ended up causing the old partial gallon of paint to thicken slightly in the can, so 6 months later when I could finally see well enough to paint again I just used the same old mix ratio as before but it didn’t turn out. And of course I was also in a hurry to get it done because I was well into the new building going up so I ended up cutting even more corners that all compounded into one really bad paint job.
In your last video you had talked about the projects you were going to work on this winter if your paint window didnt come about....the projects didnt include the W4...wondering if you are going to restore the W4 eventually or is that a back burner project thats a long way down the road?
The channel analytics show that a lot of the viewers are getting burned out on IH content, which was caused by this H project dragging into its second year mainly due to my unexpected eye surgeries last year, which stalled everything for months and then pushed it into the summer building season which because of the Red Shed going up made me sideline the H a second time. Views and watch minutes have really declined on this project, so the next major restoration is either going to be the Caterpillar RD-6 or the rock crusher, which are the two most requested items for future content. Besides, I try to switch the subject matter up from project to project to give everybody a glimpse of the things they’re most interested in, so any major work on the W-4’s is a ways out at this point 👍
I would garantie not one IH tractor came from the factory with a paint job even close to how nice this paint is. That is a beautiful paint job.😎👍
Nice seeing your mom again !!

Got to be honest Squatch I thought it looked good before
But that result is STUNNING
Well done, Sir 👍

Awesome. I'm so glad you got it!! With a little luck the H can winter in the red shed.

Congrats on achieving that smooth glass like finish. That paint job looks amazing. 👍👍👍👍
I LOVE watching paint dry! Especially Farmall Red paint. Congratulations on a beautiful set of sheet metal!
Wohoo! It come out great. And its also good to know, that you can made another hook on your todolist and think of new next project steps.

Two of my favorite past times, watching the grass grow and paint dry 😅
Damn that turned out good!! I'm glad the weather cooperated!
Hey Toby,,,more paint equal less eye twitch. Nicely done! It's been Squatched,,now it's better.
Good to see you have the paint laid out nice good to see your mom doing good and you spending time with her
It’s always nice to see Mama Squatch helping out!
Well done! Another great Squatch example of forethought and planning. Inspirational again!
fantastic work
I knew it, Mother nature is watching your program too.
Wow, that paint looks great.
Fantastic paint job! Glad that all worked out in the end.

OH WOW!!! The paint looks great.
Ya even have mom working the wood pile! Paint looks fantastic!
Looks very nice, good job!!!
Turned out real nice
Paint looks awesome
I Appreciate the temperature conversion 👍🏻
The sheet metal turned out really well, nice work. I've had similar problems with the MS paint getting gross in the can after a few months.
Excellent!
Happy you got your paint right
Mommas in the yard 👍🏻🤩😁
I thought was snowing. It was sawdust.
The paint looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the update Toby. Man the hood and gas tank turned out great this time around. Cheers
Looking forward to the future projects.. I'm racing old man winter here, as well. It seems as though it comes faster every year.
Paint looks good!
The windows for heat in the Midwest is always fun.
Glad to see the tins are painted.
Glad the sun shone on your project on Friday and the respray was successful!
Good to hear the trauma is over.
After months of sleepless nights, I’m sure you’re looking forward to some peaceful dreams.
That respray came out great, congrats man
Nice to see the crew wearing hearing protection. Many on UA-cam don't. Nothing cool about being deaf when much of it can be prevented. 😊
Very good, I'm happy that there is some pain on the inside ,
The paint came out great!
The paint laid down nice,oh how things have changed.Siphon feed gun I had to set my gun pressure between 45-50 psi on straight enamel pint.
Fantastic Tobie, now onto X231 (I hope)
Well splitting and stacking firewood is a lot better than watching paint dry. lol!
Brilliant!
The paint looks fantastic! Guessing you're in the middle of deer hunting season due to the blaze orange. 👍
Yep, right in the middle of firearms season at this point with one more week to go 👍
Looks like a show grade paint job to me. Nice!
Nice job. Lots of guys who have spray booths can't lay paint on that nice.
Looking good.
That paint job is probably better than it was from the factory lol ... great job 👍
Way to hit that one little window for paint! It looks great. No bugs!
It's great to see The Queenager... The third time on The Show .?... 2:43 Great paint too...
Yes Please....X231 waiting patiently Toby

Thanks! Same old wood splitter yet :-)

I see x231 peeking back there. What's the plan work on it this winter? Glad you got the H sprayed, looks good!
The plan every time with X231 is just survive until spring lol ;-)
