  • 🐝 In this video, I go through the process of extracting & bottling honey in our processing shed.
🐝 We have a maximum of 100 hives & this process meets our requirements.
🐝 Larger producers have more mechanised setups; however, this suits us fine.

Thankyou for showing this. You’ve upgraded on equipment since the last bottling video. I use a dishwasher to sterilise my jars and lids ( Victoria) I wondered where you get your labels printed as needing to do some for this coming season 😀

Hello Robyn, I got my labels printed locally in Coffs. I had them designed years ago. I don't use off-the-shelf labels.

The triangle piece is for resting a frame on to uncap rather than using the nail holder. Nail is much faster IMO

Yeah, I tried that, but most of the cappings ended up on the floor thought perhaps I was doing it wrong

@@mt.corambaapiculture nope! Its honestly just a poor design.

Thanks for sharing, just wondering if there is a reason nobody bothers clearing the frames of Bur etc while uncapping. Surely this would help with balancing the extractor?

The issue with unbalanced frames is the amount of honey in them rather than burr comb but yes you could remove it prior to extraction.

How do you find the Nuplas boxes?

The supers in the video belong to another beekeeper so I don't really have an opinion.

Man it sure seems strange to me that here we are with feeders on, mid winter freezing our goolies off and you guys up there are pulling honey. My bees are barely flying.

This honey would have been on them for a while; however, our spring workup will start in a fortnight, and swarming is expected the first week in August.
