- Amazing wedding processional for Rebecca and Taylor Jackson's wedding at St. Thomas Church, Ann Arbor featuring Donald K. Ross Bagpiping playing the Phil Coulter version of Highland Cathedral.
I love bagpipes. It was my request to have them played at my son’s funeral when he died serving our country. The gentleman stood out on a knoll amongst some trees and played beautifully.
that is something I did not think about I was so devastated when our son left us.

So sorry for your loss. My family plays them at weddings and funerals. I had my dad piped to his grave and my sweet niece was killed tragically and I had them do highland cathedral because she didn't get to be a bride.
Having Donald Ross play this in my daughter's wedding in June in tribute for her Scottish Grandfather and father which are no longer with us. Highland Cathedral brings me to tears everytime. Donald Ross on pipes is amazing

The acoustics in that church are amazing. Thank you to whomever selected the hard tile over music killing carpet. That gorgeous processional would nothing like this if there was carpet. I wish they had left the high altar though. Those are magnificent works of art and a Catholic church is never the same after it is gone.

I found this video before I got married and we played it for my procession as well. It’s so beautiful!
This makes my Scottish blood very happy. There is just something so hauntingly beautiful about bagpipes. When my dad was laid to rest with full military honors, he was piped to his final resting place by a piper playing "Scotland the Brave." He was a proud son of Scotland.

I chose this for my wedding. Everytime I hear it, it stops me in my tracks. I wanted bagpipes in honor of my father. I would have loved for him to walk me down the aisle. Instead, my 9 year old grandson did the honors.

Nice music. The piper played very well, the pipes were in tune, very nice. Usually they are a bit flat, but here they were right in tune. As a piper I give it an A.

The tune Highland Cathedral is played while the pretty ladies approach the sanctuary. The music is very pleasing, but then the doors momentarily close at the back of church and then WHAM-MM-mm... The pipes join the other instruments and together cause my eyes to water as the bride and her dad come down the aisle. I loved it. Really beautiful!!

the video is terrible, out of focus, blurred and jerky. Must have got the cheapest video company. The camera jerks from one side to the other and in and out. This had me dizzy. Totally unprofessional job. Sounds like a funeral procession. The music is dower. The pipes had a shaky start are not sweet on the top hand (a wee bit strained ) and ahead of the the piano in parts (not in sync), but Iv'e heard a lot worse.

Very few brides will ever have their entrance to music like this with a decent piper who is for once in tune, as opposed to all the other regular wedding pipers who have a shocking sound and claim to have 3 or 4 decades of experience behind them, usually the reason is they had never got past the learner stage of grade 4 and this is a common factor as well as not having a good ear for tuning, full stop. Brides usually ring up and first question is what's your prices. So the untalented pipers will grab those jobs.
