    Elden Ring lore is a perfect way on how I would love for lore to be delivered to me in AoC.
    You can completely ignore it or you can go ham and read every description of an item and piece things together.

    Without lore in a game, you aren't playing a game. You are just testing systems. If you don't care about lore, then art, the environment, etc. have no meaning or purpose. It's just "ohhh pretty" and moving on. Stop and smell the magical roses people. Learn to appreciate the artistry that goes into these worlds. Otherwise you may as well be playing an 8 bit game. Nobody is obsessed with the water in an 8 bit game ;) Ashes is not an MMO. It's an MMORPG. Ignoring half the letters is ignoring half the genre. Ashes is trying to make an all time great MMORPG. This, by necessity, includes taking us back to the roots of the genre with such things as social/community aspects. Simply grouping up for dungeons is not going to make for a sustainable, engaged community. It's important, so let me say it again: The goal of Ashes of Creation isn't to be just a fun game. The goal is to be a GREAT game.

    I love easter eggs in the lore that actually turn into small-large rewards. From a message on a note that guides you to a hidden coin purse in a dungeon, all the way to hidden areas ect. Its just that 99% of the time lore is just endless writing in a book that pulls you away from gameplay for more screen time

    • @Nyce-Gaming
      @Nyce-Gaming  Місяць тому

      Love the way you worded that. Almost like ‘playing a good book’

    I simply cant play MMORPG without knowing lore at least on a surface level. As far as alpha goes, I don't really care of lore bits are present.
    My purpose in alpha is to test the game mechanics, not debate The Others nature.

    I see you promote the AoC title and balance it against titles you don't like and how it makes people feel. You make lots of nice videos that look real great. Yet I need thought because this is a commercial as all the videos are. I have seen it explain but meet with distain. I see the graveyard behind this title of all the MMORPG before it. I have in no way seen the application of the 80/20 principle. To me steven is creating a better archeage and I so do hope it works for him but me. Call me 30 days after launch and I can watch 15 hours of real video and players. Then I will chose where or if I pay. The double standard and fan boy mentality of the game industry is getting oh so bad and it isnt all the developers fault. AoC as slated is the LARGEST MMORPG in creation I do believe with more classes and moving parts than any other title before it. Not one single attempt to address the issues that came from games attempting the same scope or political system like old title Darkage Unholt wars and so on. Lore is a massive cornerstone and most totally drop the ball because the game came first and the lore should always be first. The lore should have been what drew you in. Now the reality of all that is I am simply not yet swayed in any manner to pay up . I have seen oh so many titles come and go. I wrote all this because since you are shooting commercials you would want to know its not working. I really do miss the days of gaming journalism and the presentation of games across the board. I see the 80. stevens got the 80 all day and yet there isn't a 20. The industry needs new life not rehashes. I am older and stopped the hype train ticket purchases a long time ago. I so hope my honesty is what you where after and not just a sounding board to sell a product your very being is invested in.

      Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I personally don’t look at content creation as a commercial, but a hobby. As far as lore coming first , I’d say that’s subjective as that will not be the same for most people. A lot of good lore was discovered after playing most games (see Elden ring reference). However AOC has provided lore which is available on their wiki, just not all of it.
      It is very true that we’ve seen a lot of titles come and go. In fact I just did a video on one yesterday. However that shouldn’t disrupt optimism at least until reason is given. You can definitely wait 30 days after launch. For me it’s a no brainer considering the lack of box cost to try a new mmo come launch. It’s definitely a very ambitious project indeed but one I’m passionate about. Content creation is my hobby and this mmo is promising something I think a lot of people are waiting on especially in the current state of gaming. Who knows if it’ll deliver, but I know if intrepid delivers even 80% of what’s promised, we’ll have something perhaps better than what’s available right now. Doesn’t mean they can’t be held to standards or criticism.
      In short I’d check out the lore already available to us on the wiki or the lore forged yt channel. You may actually get inspired 👀
      Thanks for this passionate comment btw!

      @@Nyce-Gaming Great I don't see that. I played so many titles and free no box is a huge red flag of micro hell. The best way to sell something is get the seller emotionally involved, maybe this helps you grasp modern streamers and why companies use them. Like I said I do not see new systems or operations I have not seen before. Marketing which I do is a well thought out approach to spend the least and get the post. Streamers where a perfect ploy as it hooks the emotional side and then rejects opposition as you feel personally slighted. With everything in this industry from the sweet babies to the streamers themselves its a no brainer for me to not spend my time or my money till they prove worthy. I see so many games and studios go unnoticed while the heavy weights get all the free love. I thank you for your time and wish you well but there are much stronger unknowns out there actually changing things. I will seek a channel covering those. Thank you for your hard work.
