So i played with this plane and tbh it looks gorgeous, it's fast, maneuverable at high speeds, and have great performance overall, the only problem is it's armaments and the fact that it's like a zero and will light up once shot.

I actually saw and touched the Tuskeegee Airmen P-51C in real life a couple years back. Fell in love with it immediately, bought a leatherjacket+cap with it embroidered on and have been wanting it in game ever since. And here we are in game with all its glory and being a tech tree plane it still somehow has a +320% SL modifier, which is better than some premiums at around its BR. Don't tell Gaijin.
I'd take 4 american .50's over 2 japanese 20mm and 7mms any day.

Kermit Weeks lives in Florida and owns a place called Fantasy of Flight. It used to be much bigger and had the P-51 mentioned, a B17, F4F, B26 Marauder and more. Absolutely loved the place
This is such a beautiful aircraft to look at. I can't stop staring at it. The red and the canopy just completes it for me.

This is actually the first p51 I've really flown in-game. (Apart from the Brit Mustang 1a.)
I have to say I like it. Only downside is I wish it had at least 6 50. Cals.
I sometimes struggle with the 4 50.s
But it seems to fly nice.

When the patch came out I saw this and was upset I couldn’t play it cuz I broke my thumb, then I knew jengar would make a vid on it,so when I came home from school, I was happy to see this!

A review about the new aircrafts right in time! Thank you Jengar. If she's got M2 Brownings, she would be an all time-favourite for most of the players because she's not a great badass with the current guns as you pointed out in the video. I too struggle finish the enemies off from time to time.
The P-51C does have M2 Brownings, it just has less of them.

@@jengar6258 basically that trick is slowing down your plane to pitch up, forcing the opponent to overshoot and giving you the advantage, you'd be on his tail. (Quite hard to pull off because Physics exists.)
Did you know the K5 camo you can get for the F4U-4 from the market place is based on a F4U that Kermit owns too? One of my absolute favorite camos in-game.
It's a great version of mustang - climbs well, and looks beautiful

Which Packard Merlin 1650 does she have? -3 or -7?
Because from what I know, the C-Model should be faster than the D model with the same engine.
So she either has the -3 and should be faster than the D model near ground level, or the -7 and the numbers are quite simply wrong.
The xray says its the -7.
-3 is the higher alt engine. And it has the -7. According to the data sheets on the forum:

the P-51C actually is as fast/slightly faster than the D at high alt too, which is what's to be expected as they have the same engine running the same MP settings.
I don't think Jengar does his top speed tests as accurate as possible. AFAIK, he waits to accelerate in level flight, instead of the faster method which is to climb to an altitude above, then dive to your desired altitude and wait for your speed to level off. In addition, Jengar doesnt use Manual Engine Control, which means he has no control of the radiators, which may also lead to erroneous values.

It's the curse of watching WT youtubers. You watch their vids, and then you think you can do just as good. You enter War Thunder with confidence, only to get shot down, and having a mental breakdown.
You never see the boring beginning where you try and gather teammates and get a good position. It's important, but would make for an extremely boring video.
Also noting that WT youtubbers often show interesting or good matches. Not their worst matches. Trust me mate, i also still make mistakes. Getting better in WT air is measured in months and years, not days and weeks.
Gaijin said that 190´s got some improvements. Can u test them again? My D13 seems to be a little more maneuverable but 190 A5 didn´t.

this thing is actually faster on the deck than the d-5 and d-20, great performance but i can't get kills with the 4 50 cals.
It lacks the Yellow-Flamable M20 Tracer for some reason :(
The 4 50 cals are plenty. Don’t think that more guns always means more deadly. I’d rather 4 guns with a high burst mass than 6 gun pods but a low burst mass. The faster the bullets fire the more affective they are. Also use the belts with the highest incendiary or explosive rounds.

@@closinginonclosure i get your point but the all of the other p51s in the game (which is what i'm comparing this plane to) carry their extra 2 machine guns in the wings so performance isn't really noticeably impacted. also the m20 tracer rounds are good because they are also incendiary rounds. with 50 cals your only other real option of a round is AP, which only has slightly more penetration and really isn't any more useful against planes than incendiary rounds are. also, planes that have the late war 50 cals belts have access to a tracer belt full nothing of the m20 incendiary tracer round which is why michael is disappointed.
@@flynntaggart8549 I understand what your what you're thinking, but that unfortunately isn't the case. A "tracer incendiary round" isn't the same thing as a regular incendiary round. Standard incendiary rounds are 100% full incendiary. The Tracer incendiary isn't as effective. And in the American tree there are MANY planes where the 12.7 STEALTH belts have the highest combination of incendiary and explosive rounds and are the most effective belt offered. With no tracer "filler" rounds. But if you need the help aiming and want to see your round, you may not be looking at the stealth belts.

they should make it to where you get a warning before getting shot at by aaa or a timer or something to at least make it harder for people to camp

Oh god no 4 .50cals I suffered enough with the bearcat 4 .50cals definitely not getting this one.
its a different br and much more competitive then the F8F-1 is at its br. So the experience isnt as bleak as that.

Forgot that planes become chunk very quickly after 5.0
To be honest, 4 12.7mm are good enough to take on some fighters in a dogfight. The play style of P-51B/C also proved that.
sure, you can get kills with 4x 50 cals, but its below par firepower comparitively. And inevitably you'll get less finishing shots, with just hits or crits.
It is also good enough for boom and zoom
Would have been nice to have the Malcolm bulge hood that was on a lot of those "C"s. Makes the cockpit profile look a little more like a Spitfire's.

this plane is worst stock grind i had in the line so far.
NA servers are a freaking mess since the patch dropped. Freezing, bad connections, it's terrible.

Mentioning that with a new plane everyone was flying with un-spaded planes and that it’s a disadvantage. Which makes me think of something that im curious what you’re thoughts are. How do you feel about high rank players who play low tier almost exclusively. Players from rank 80-100 for example. Several thousand kills with multiple planes and all of their pilot and crew skills maxed and Aced planes. Then playing tier 1-3 against mostly beginners at those ranks with pilot and crew in the teens or so. Which affects your aim, health, plane control and several other advantages. They play low tier knowing they have that advantage. What are your thoughts on this?

Wrong, P-51C is faster and more agile than D-5 and D-20 at all altitudes and even though slower than D-10 and D-30, it's still more maneuverable than them.

when your plane goes into critical speed range (the speed number indicator turns red at that point).

@@jengar6258 can I ask how, because what happens with me is that I climb to about 3000/4000 metres, pick a good target, they evade, and thanks to the godawful maneuverability I can't get them, they get behind me and no matter what I do I die. It does not matter if I have the energy advantage or not, I die. Honestly I have done better in the P39 and P38 at 4.0 than I did with this thing while at 2,7.
The only time I have done well (i.e not died) is when my enemy was an incompetent idiot who does not understand the idea of energy fighting

@@sirnurtle657 For me the best feature on this plane is it's survivabilty when diving at very high altitudes. You can easily make your enemies break their wings if they dare follow you while you can just pull up and climb back and reposition for a vertical head on.
For Ammo types just use Tracer rounds since it is all AP-I it just lights everything on fire. Lastly I suggest just sticking with teammates, while not foolproof it's certainly better than facing several fighters on your own.

I just don't know why but i jaut keep dying in war thunder no matter what, only getting an assist or kill every 10 or so games and just gradually loose sl as i play, I just can't get into a good position even though i have been playing for 5 years. Any help?

That is broken, how? It really depends on what you‘re talking about.
The P51 should have a better zoom climb than the 109 since she has higher HP and less parasitic drag.
If you’re talking generally then that should not be the case since the 109 has significantly less induced drag and weight than any P51
@@NotDumbassable The way this P51 zoom climbs it easily loops with the G2 and it has a lower stall speed than the G2. This is also possible because of its ridiculous acceleration. Test it for yourself in game, it's not natural the way this thing goes up.
