1. Blank color for background (try using gradients) 2. Making text in color (only use black or white text unless you are skilled at design and know what you're doing) 3. Using cursive fonts (can be hard to read) 4. White text with nothing to back it (have a shadow, outline, or bubble so the words are visible) 5. Too much going on (have it focused and let the viewer know what the video is about) 6. Unnecessary info (cut the fluff) 7. Repeating the title (the text shouldn't be the exact same 8. Ignoring competitors 9. Not comparing to other thumbnails in that specific video topic 10. Not checking click-through rate (check analytics to see if your thumbnails are working or not
Im legit about to make a thumbnail for my next vid and this just came on notifications so imma just watch this times to times for the best thumbnail I can make (and yes finally I have them all editing,thumbnail,ideas what more could this man give to us small creator)

Hi Collin I have a question. When publish a video to UA-cam from capcut when you don’t go on full screen the video is quite small but when you go on full screen it’s fine. I cropped it and everything it doesn’t make a difference
Make sure its 16 by 9 for the format and make sure the video takes up the full screen. I would also recommend saving it to your phone first and then uploading from the UA-cam app VS through the CapCut app.

I switched to black and white text with my thumbnails from color and they did awesome!
