Winnie Wallace... I've ploughed through all episodes up to this one and haven't laughed once...To tell the truth they're all depressing..Just as well Judi went on to better things.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
I never knew that at 13 weeks a baby is perfectly formed. As a mere man, I have to say that the idea of a abortion beyond this time is rather shocking. And we all know that in reality abortion is available on demand.
KitCurranRadioShow .. Has anyone else noticed that the amount of libtards and put-upons in the world has risen since women stopped drinking during pregnancy.
@AI AC ... You are quite the 'put upon' aren't you. Asthma is not caused by cigarette smoke. But it does make it worse. You did not have to move to a different country you made that decision all by yourself. Nasty personal insults are the first choice for ignoramuses.
I like Judy Dench but this character in the episodes I’ve seen reminds me of someone I used to date. And it isn’t a pleasant reminder. She plays an ill tempered high maintenance insecure reason to get a dog. Unless it’s a pit bull. then it would be a toss up.
What a drag of a show; Hands down the most miserable couple on tv. Stuck together out of necessity. A suffocating, depressing show. How a woman can put up with a non committal drip like this who isn't even into her, I don't know but it's depressing to see anyone accept such circumstances. One is always infinitely better alone than with someone who is with them for lack of options. Absolutely depressing and a kick to human dignity
@z calm down! Tabula has got a point here. At least in this episode Laura and Mike's relationship seems quite frustrating and depressing! Don't you think so???
They were married in real life and yes, Mike is a bit of a dip but I love the show. Respect other’s opinions and don’t try to change their minds, but I think the show was meant to be this way.
@@CoExist64 I understand what she means. I love Judi Dench in almost anything that she does, but this show makes her look like a hag. It does her absolutely no justice & their relationship is depressing. After watching her in The series “ as time goes by “ this is such a dramatic change and not a good one . I don’t know how anyone can think that this show is good I do find it depressing.
Laura is very entertaining but the sister is just lovely .She's the perfect foil for her irascible
sister.
Thank you for uploading this series😊
A 'pudding basin' haircut and a nippy personality and Laura is still single. Amazing!
good to see Karl Howman who went on to do his own Sitcom - Brush Stroke
And Mulberry, which was _wonderful._
Mulberry!
Surely this series wasn't still filmed in 1981!
Thanks

Taking your contacts off in bed is really gross. Baby Alana is sooooo adorable.

Helen shouldn't be drinking if she's pregnant!
And smoking indoors!

Chris Guerrero .. Sick building syndrome has increased by lots since 'no smoking in buildings'. Employers were able to turn the air conditioning down.
Women can drink in small amounts on a full stomach in their third trimester.
