Is this channel dead? Such a shame this is wonderful
20K+ views and not a single dislike. I never thought I'd live to see the day.
There is one dislike now lol.
(Not mine).
@@Leoxxxxx5 Now are two (not mine)...
There are none now
My local store, pulled some.old warmaster blisters from cold storage. Empire stuff. Pretty awesome
I’m looking forward to this series.
I’m hoping I can get some local people to play this game.
Any News for new Parts?
Sorry, day job is keeping me super busy.
@@onthelamgames If you find time someday, it would be higly appreciated :)
The television show I’m working on at the moment wraps up mid-March so hopefully around then. Thanks for the continued interest!
@@onthelamgames let me xd
Can not wait for more. Been wanting to learn about this game for such a long time. Now to find the minis!
@K W most likely because of self printing.
This is very nice. Definitely a needed series to have available!
Subscribed and waiting for part 2. Excellent stuff.
I just found out about this game, having only recently gotten into miniature wargaming, and the video is less than a month old? wtf amazing
Please I recently discovered this wargame and Im so excited!! I hope you keep uploading new content.
Great explanation! Thanks for making this series.
This was so needed, keep it up!
Keep the series going. As others have said the production is very professional. Great work.
Great video thanks. I've been waiting for ages for a fresh series on the rules of Warmaster. Your explanations are very clear and concise.
OMFG!!!! Why I have I not heard of this!! Hell yes!!!
A friend and I will be starting this up, this summer! I’m stoked!
well done.... great quality looking forward to more
This was great, i have just bought a small selection of bretonnian minis and i am very much looking forward to learning how to play and get some games going once we are all back to normal!!!!
Great video, keep up the splendid work.
What really makes this video so good is the sheer amount of painted minis you show off. Talk about inspiring!
Thanks! The models are a combination of my collection and a friend’s. I guarantee you I have more unpainted Warmaster than I have painted!
Perfect for my quanrantine buys
Please please re-start this. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Keep them coming 👏🏼
Awesome. Thank you
Seriously good quality on the video/production - thanks for investing in the community it's appreciate!
Splendid video dude!
Well made video! I already know how to play but I still enjoyed it very much :)
Will send it to friends ;)
keep dping that fantastic guide!
Waiting for more rules explanations! Thank you
SO IT BEGINS
keep putting out those videos.....especially on how to use 15mm DBX based armies in Warmaster
Wow that was awesome, this series is exactly what I need to learn the game! So excited to see more.
Very well done and easy to follow, thanks so much.
Thank you!!! I want more
great video! now i need to get a couple of friends playing
Fantastic video. Sorry it has taken so long for me to watch it. Long may they continue! Barry
No worries! I figure you don't need an introduction to Warmaster Revolution!
Great video! Thanks.
I’m definitely interested.
Using inches you suggest halving the ranges. A better and closer solution would be divide the range (in CM) by 5, then multiply by 2. - simple enough (2 inches equals 5.08cm.) Halving would give faster units even more of an advantage. (of course most will just yell use metric....but...)
Thanks for making this video I was unaware they updated the rules. . My dad used to play this years back but stopped wargaming with his warmaster fantasy armies as the rules fell out of favour withing his gaming group with everyone preferring to play warmaster Ancients instead so with these updated rules hopfully his armies will make it to the gaming table again.
If he’s played Warmaster Ancients, some of the Warmaster Revolution changes should feel familiar.
This is absolutely brilliant. Thank for making this, I struggled reading the ruleook but this is making everything so clear.
Is this any fun to play solo?
Just discovered warmaster and just bought a printer heck yeah!!!
No more videos? those were really helpfull to join the game, looking to see some more.
I would love to see you explain Epic 40k / NetEpic. There are so few videos on Epic, no English tutorials either.
Funny thing is I play Epic30k from the Aussie community. I definitely plan on doing a NetEpic: Armageddon tutorial once I get the Warmaster Revolution tutorial further along.
I'm working on warhammer armies for the two regions that don't have army's yet. The Lost Isles of Elithis (Australian fantasy, Strange beasts with some wild elves). The Dark lands mountains (noble african's & centaurs). Both are good factions. Doing army lists for Warmaster should be fun.
This is a very well produced video. The information is presented in a clear and detailed manner with good pacing. The miniatures are very well painted.
Out of interest, what program do you use to make the video?
Very impressive, I hope to see some battle reports soon.
Thanks! I use Avid Media Composer since it’s also what I use at work. I’m hoping to be able to do some battle reports once I have more of the Learn to Play series finished.
I'm hooked!! The problem is where do l get models from for a game that no longer is sold?
3d printing FTW!
Such a shame a that GW discontinued Warmaster. To this day I still regard it as the best game that GW ever produced. It was Rick Priestley's magnum opus.
Great video, thanks!
Contender with BFG, Chamber's big thing and Mordheim, Pirinen's perfect storm
Its funny that GWs best games were the original Epic Space Marine and Warmaster.
@@chrisperry8220 and blood bowl. That's just fun. real fun!
More!!!!!
I own warmaster battle of five armies never played it pretty mint condition for its age now I'm going to paint and play it.
I have a set as well! It’s a nice self contained little game. If you’re looking to expand with the lists in there I believe Copplestone Castings sells 10mm Tolkien-esque miniatures.
@@onthelamgames Cool thanks.
Why didn't you make more videos...there great!
Awesome videos mate, when's part 3 coming out ?
Thanks! Been busy with work but I’ve finished recording the narration for Part 3. Just need to film it.
@@onthelamgames Awesome looking forward to it
Just starting to learn Warmaster and picking up an Army; this has been great content.. where did you get that measuring template with the notes along the top?
I designed the template and my friend at Crystal Fortress helped me laser cut it in acrylic. You can order one from him if you’d like, just go to www.crystal-fortress.com/ and email him about the Warmaster Revolution measuring tool. Just a warning though, they’re made to order so it’ll probably be fairly expensive if you only order one.
Maybe I missed it but how do I count dead models when they are in the same base? Thanks, sorry I am used to war hammer fantasy battles lol
Welp. Late to the party. I await your return
More videos?
Holy shit, thats really cool. Is Warmaster basically the Hail Caesar of the WH Fanatasy universe? AND at epic scale? If so I'm totally in!
Almost but the other way around, Rick Priestley based Hail Caesar, etc. on the Warmaster rules. Also Warmaster is 10mm while Epic is 6mm. 10mm is compact but still has a lot of detail per model.
@@onthelamgames Awesome, would 10mm be your 'go to' preference? I was considering trying something other than 28mm but still debating what to go to
I play both Warmaster and Epic and they’re both good scales for their rules. You can’t go wrong with either game.
Where's a good place to get some minis for this game?
This is the kind of game that could really benefit from 3d printing
It already does, there are a ton of artists coming out with 10mm minis specifically for Warmaster.
How can I make those marked bases to learn to play with? What materials did you use?
I just bought Renedra plastic bases and wrote on them with sharpie.
how much times would you say a battle takes?
Where can I get one if those sweet Warmaster range templates? I'm going to play American Civil War battles with Warmaster
I designed them and my friend at www.crystal-fortress.com/ cuts them made to order out of acrylic. Email him at his site and ask for the Warmaster Revolution measuring tool. Warning though it’s not cheap and shipping probably won’t be either. Especially if you’re not in the United States.
where can i find warmaster ancients rules
Can you play Ancients with Warmaster Revolution or is there a Revolution equivalent for Ancients?
Warmaster Revolution takes elements from Warmaster Ancients. Just use the Warmaster Ancients rules from Warhammer Historicals if you want ancients rules. The community never felt the Ancients rules needed an update like the fantasy rules did.
Lovely vid. BUT where can I get that acrylic ruler? :)
I designed it and had my friend at Crystal Fortress cut a few for me and some friends. I can talk to him about offering it for public sale if enough people are interested in it.
@@onthelamgames Can't speak for others but I would love a ping if / when available! :)
Sure, let me talk to my friend if he's able to do a print run and I'll make a post on the FB group to see if anyone else is interested. I'm assuming it's going to take a minimum number of orders to make it cost effective for my friend to do.
where you got those combatdials from?
Company called Pyrkol, but they’ve been out of business for years.
which gamemat you use? Is it printed for 10mm?
I use Frontline Gaming’s Grasslands mat. It works for any scale.
where to buy miniatures this scale?
There are many 3rd party 10mm fantasy miniature manufactures. Is there a specific faction you are looking for?
hi, may i ask where did you get the counting dials?
Company called Pyrkol but I think they are out of business now.
@@onthelamgames very sad however we still have you! And we are waiting for ur next part of the learn to play! Im very new to the game and watching ur videos was a great help
Do you have a discord for online play for warmaster revolution?
I don’t have a personal discord for running WMR Online, but there is one created by the Warmaster Facebook group. They play WMR via Tabletop Simulator sometimes. I haven’t had a chance to play WMR on TTS yet, but I heard it’s pretty good: discord.gg/tuq9eynKZD
Thanks! i also managed to get the link from another youtuber that did a tutorial for warmaster TTS, im hoping you continue your video series id love to learn the game and hopefully contribute battlereports thru tts!
4:45 What kind of hit counter is that and who is selling it?
A company on eBay called Pyrkol. Currently it doesn’t look like they’re selling anything though.
@@onthelamgames Thanks
I like this but why are the figures so small? 😭
What do you not like about 10mm scale?
I wonder what happened to this series. Are there any more videos upcoming?
Hi, thanks for showing continued interest. I’m currently working on Part 3. My job and family have been keeping me very busy.
@@onthelamgames That's great news, thanks!
Is there any patreon(3D printrr) that sales this miniatures??
The only one I have experience with is Forest Dragon on Patreon.
Excellent Miniatures do 3d models for Warmaster. I think they are slowly expanding their range. I have some of their Chaos Dwarfs on order and will be doing a video review when they arrive.
If we’re talking about stores that sell physical models, there are quite a few.
@@stonehorsegaming Not 'their' Chaos Dwarfs they're designed by Ankylo Miniatures, hope you give the proper credit
@@funoff3207 I did not know that.
Mate where's the rest of the tutorial? 😂
Stand? Is that a mf jojos reference?!?!?!?!?!??!?
Im really curious about the game but the lack of alternate activations is a big disappointment. Ill watch some more.
I've always loved the look of the game, but I couldn't get over the dice rolling (Command)for doing anything with units. That sounded so counter-player agency even ~20 years ago and was a deal-breaker for me then. With gaming mechanics developing more and more as the board game golden age progresses, I find it even less acceptable.
Taking agency from the player for even the most basic actions and replacing it with randomness sounds like a mechanic that belongs maybe in 70's, not today.
i prefure it, it forces the player to make more decisions and sacrifices and adds an extra component to make armies feel flavour full.
