Shanghaied by The (Fabulous) Wailers

I was surprised to see that "Shanghaied" was the "plug" side of this release. "Wailin'" got the most airplay, although "Shanghaied" was a minor hit locally (Note that Golden Crest not only spelled shanghaied wrong, but also Rich Dangel's name). These early Wailers' instrumentals were so incredible. I played the "Fabulous Wailers" so much, that I completely wore down the grooves (playing it on my parents' Admiral television/radio/phonograph console). I've always believed that it was the greatest instrumental LP of its time, even better than the Link Wray and the Wraymen LP released on Epic a few months earlier. They did appear together when the Wailers were back east after the success of "Tall Cool One".
