I feel like if any character would be fitting for the "obsessive psycho yandere" type character, it would be a Metal Amy. She would be just as obsessed with Sonic as Metal Sonic is, but instead of just wanting to kill him to prove ultimate superiority, she would be designed to kill him through "affection" and utilizing other yandere tropes like manipulation to ultimately inflict long lasting trauma, think "the most twisted reflection of Amy" you can, and that would be the character. I feel it would also be fitting for her to actually have a voice, but only if she had an almost exact replica of Amy's voice and speech patterns, just because I think that would drive home the point that she was designed in favor of psychological warfare over killing efficiency. I feel like that would make her stand out quite a bit from the other Metal characters who most often find themselves just being a different kind of knockoff Metal Sonic, killing machines but without any semblance of a personality.

Considering Gamera is mentioned, Amy isn't the only one headed back to the limelight. Coincidentially, one preliminary sidekick just so happens to bear a striking resemblance to the friend of all children himself, Boomer the Turtle who now exists in the world of IDW Sonic. Since the turtle is in Public Domain, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a crossover between Sonic and Gamera featuring Metal Amy in the pages of IDW next year.
I think the reason Sonic was worried in the fight with the Amy badnik more than the previous time in fleetway because 1, it was online, so one wrong hit and everything goes kablooey, and 2, because maybe fleetway badniks don't protect the animal inside by putting them in suspended animation.
Just realised the Amy mech from “mashed there’s something about knuckles” is based on Archie metal sonic. Awesome stuff shows how much care mashed puts into those animations.
Honest to god Commander Brutus is basically what I wish Heavy King was in the main Sonic universe. Like that personality is perfect for the guy. Like it still makes no sense to me that hes called Heavy King and still works with Eggman like really why. Thats just a waist of a design and character to just have him be an eggman lacky. Like that design is badass Heavy King deserves to be more then just one of robotniks lackeys. He deserves to have his own empire and create his own city.
In regards to Mania's Amy Doll, I'm honestly not really sure if that even counts as a robot. It's clearly able to move to a certain extent, but we don't really know how that works so for all we know those things are far more doll than bot. In regards to the Superstars design, I don't really feel like it looks like a battle robot at all. If I were to make a quick assumption based on the design, I'd say this version of Metal Amy is more of a scout type robot meant to gather intel or acquire things that aren't being particularly guarded.
That thing in the middle of her head is probably a design reference to ZZ Gundam, if you compare both the diamond hole things are virtually the exact same. If they gave her a unique moveset she'd shoot lasers out of there
Is this weird to say but for me Nick is the one UA-camr who I am happier when he makes a long video. Like I just like hearing his commentary and I don’t care how dumb the subject matter is I’m just impressed he can make an engaging 30-min video about anything.
looks great! my favorite design element is the rocket booster dress very cool! on the topic of the metal amy's we cant forget the lastest and my favorite version rusty rose an alternate universe robotisized amy created by sonic fracturing the newly introduce universe forming power gem of that series... yes i forget both the series name and the name of that new gem i just remember a bit of the series cuase i cant actualy follow the show... no money. 10:43 i thought of a way to include the look of amy's bangs while intruducing a meanicing functionality, a spiky circular saw where the bangs would be, creating the same outline and an homage to the bang while not simply being wasted meterial and a practical weapon, it would make it impractical to attack the front of the head.
Honestly, looking at the second Fleetway Amy Super Badnik design, and I [think/wouldn't be surprised by] if it might have legit been originally Porker Lewis, my only reason for that is due to the tusks and general mouth design.
8:04 Fun fact, Brutus programming is a copy of Robotnik’s brain programming. So technically, Robotnik had a high chance in making this robot himself, if a robot with similar “brain” programming built it.
Ever since super stars metal Amy / tales / knuckles are classic versions of them I wonder how they would look like if they were modern yeah, sure, knuckles and tails will be the same but Amy would look very different
THAAANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT RUSTY BEING ORGANIC im so sad that this probably isnt gonna be brought up in the show . it has such horrific implications and i think about it soooo hard
i love the fact that British Comic artists would never even bother to have their robot OCs match the aesthetic of the source material, shoutouts to Deathshead that looks nothing like a Transformers, yes?
Huh, how very interesting, a nice lineup, i hope we get a Modern Version of Metal Amy at some point. Anyway, i wonder what you’ll cover next, will look forward to find out.
I'm not sure how well this would work in a design but I got a pretty cool idea while watching the video. Y'know how Amy in Sonic R has a scrapped buzzsaw that would've come out of her car? I think it would be cool to revisit that idea with some kind of copy of Amy considering a saw seems overly violent for normal Amy but I think could work with a metallic duplicate. It would also make for a cool and obscure reference to a cut idea. I don't know how exactly it would function though, like maybe rather than having a hammer Metal Amy could utilize a buzzsaw? Much like how it could've been used in Sonic R, she could eject it out from somewhere on her body or limbs and use it as an attack. I liked the idea of her skirt being able to spin that you came up with so what if she could use that to spin her upper body alone and with the buzzsaw it could make for a deadly spin attack where the buzzsaw is sticking out of her while she's spinning? I think it's only fitting that Metal Amy uses some kind of weapon like the real Amy but I don't know whether or not it's a good idea to have it still be a hammer. A buzzsaw would definitely make Metal Amy unique and make for an interesting weapon opposing Amy's hammer. A saw also feels like something to come more out of modern technology as opposed to a hammer which I think works well to make Metal Amy feel less human and more scary. Either way, I love the different duplicate Amy's in Sonic media and I hope Metal Amy and the other metal duplicates get expanded in a new title. I never noticed the Amy Doll's have an evil grin on their face before they explode, it makes them a lot creepier and may even be a nod to the Tails Doll's creepier depictions online. It's hard for me to decide which I think works better for Amy, a doll or a full on robot. I feel like the doll treatment fits Classic Amy particularly well like you said and I adore the concept but ideas for a Metal Amy are just really cool on their own. But, if we can have the Tails Doll and Metal Tails at the same time then why not have both for Amy right? Great video as always, Nick!
Metal Amy is a bloody gundum an by the looks of her jets on her skirt pice it’s for dashing an mobility an if adding a weapon on her hammer + dash = momentum swing attack an or in a fleetway comics a crossbow (that shoot energy) + dash = side dash shooting like any gundum can do to dodge an attack~
best part is the fact eggman put so much time in her design ends up falling flat considering this is the game that allows you to play as amy in her modern garb
Metal amy honestly hasn't been made yet to me. They're all focusing on her combat abilities, something that doesn't exist until after sa2 really, as in sa1, she was running for the most part, and sa2, she was purely supportive, convincing shadow to help save them. And nowadays, she's been a major player in the resistance, helping keep everyone organized and informed, and that's where I'd start designing a metal amy around, a battle field commander for other badnicks and robots. Her bangs are antennas, and her eyes wider for more information to be gathered and coordinated. Her dress changes depending on the era, classic metal amy would obviously gain a hovering double jump, putting the air intakes at ger feat instead, and her arms will be unchanged. She'll have small hamners for throwing as self defense, with mini jets on the heads, allowing them to return to metal amy. As for modern metal amy, she'd be bulkier, with no such intakes or jets, rather putting all of it into hamner for jet powered hammer flips and spins, basically like masked ddd's hammer but with an amy rose paint job. This all gives her a more Frontline role compared to her classic selfs hit from a distance and run tactics. Modern metal amy would also have the black dome shield, but with the ability to summon mini ones on her arms, allowing her to essentially back hand projectiles out of existence or back to sender. This approved allows for a better representation of amy in the robots, something i feel is missing. Oh, bonus thing i thought of afterwards, she could be introduced to specifically counter the zeti, using the same control method and thus being immune, and also meaning she could potentially stop omega and gemereld in their tracks, even when disarmed of her combative weapons, a neat plot twist if ever made cannon with the changes I've noted, just saying, metal amy should be a commander robot, and anything else second.
You say that Tails Doll never attacked anyone, but in the Archie comics didn't he turn into some metal monster to swallow the city right before and right after the last Megamen crossover?
another amazing video 👍 it would be cool if you would also do a video in which you would talk about every single metal/mecha version of sonic by the way am i the only person who wants a rusty rose vs mecha sally fight? i know we cant have that officially but i wonder why no one has made a fan animation or fan comic of it
Metal Amy seems to be more of an airborne Support Unit, that hovers around other Metals like a UFO, most likely dispersing energy recharges and providing defensive shields. At least that's what her visual design suggests.
ngl rose woman sounds hell funny but i was kinda hoping you covered maimy which is basically a cool fan made version of amy (i dont know much about her)
I imagine Superstars Metal Amy would be best for as you said, maneuverability, but also the usage of external weaponry. Usually with jet engines arranged in multiple spots like that, it's meant to allow quick changes and cancellations in momentum - something Metal Sonic is notoriously bad with - and because Metal Amy's hands look more complex than Metal Sonic's knife fingers for quick hit and run slashes, Metal Knuckles' huge claws for digging and punching and Metal Tails' chunky forearms seemingly designed to interface with heavy duty machinery, I believe that'd allow her to better-utilize whatever additional tech Eggman wanted to send her out with, like a huge rocket hammer or a high-performance vehicle.
you saying quills hurt more than arrows gave me an idea of an anmy trapped in a badnik using her body as a weapon You could do some really cool body horror with it
The air intake on Mecha Amy's head is 100% a reference. There's a mech from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' franchise called the 'ZZ Gundam' , who has a similar head-crest
You… were actually right on the money with that springtrap reference. The closest he could get was transporting a part of his soul onto a circuit board and moving to a different body by installing the code into the body (Don’t ask how he could do that, no one really knows)
I fell in love with Metal Amy from Sonic Superstars from the first moment I saw it, I hope they don't ignore it, I just love it, it has a lot of potential.
Actually Sonic Heroes gave us a Metal Amy way back in 2004 all characters had an easter egg metallic design in battle mode when entering a cheat code during the loading screen.
This design is just kinda “eh” for me. I can tell a lot of care and thought when into this, but considering that I’m not a fan of Classic Amy’s look, I really don’t care about seeing more of it. It’s not a terrible design, and it definitely works for Classic Amy, but like I said I’m just not a fan of that design. I know it’s never gonna happen, cause Sega and Sonic Team are never gonna touch Archie, but I absolutely love the design of Metal Amy. I was so disappointed that she/it didn’t do anything, but that design was so flipping great. Really loved the dual hammers and that she has rocket legs, making her look like a missile when she flies as her robotic dress gives her the shape of a rocket
Anyone else look at the footage of the Amy Doll in Mania and think of that one bit from when TFS played one of the Budokai games? "Alright, let's go! You are NOT Yamcha'ing me!" (Amy Doll grabs on) "OH NO, SHE'S YAMCHA'ING ME!!!"
What makes Rusty Rose's flicky so much more twisted is that it's actually the to be Gamma. So in the first alternate universe, Birdie powers Amy instead of Gamma.
i would make a tiny handful a tweeks to the design one sharp claws, two one of her hands should be able to turn into a large spiked hammer with a telescoping element like bunnyrabbot's telescoping arm for ranged attacks.
The real move would’ve been to camp closer to the window so he could just jump out of it if needed. It gives you less distance to kill zombies, but gives you a chance to jump out. Since there’s no solo quick revive in WaW, this is preferable to being backed up to the wall like how he was in the clip.
That should be a plot or setup for a new classic Sonic game tbh, Metal Sonic leading a team of Metal versions of Tails, Knuckles and Amy to battle Sonic and his friends, simple but effective, the metal versions of Tails, Knuckles and Amy have cool sleek designs as well thanks to Superstars and their designs.
metal amy desing is so cute, and i can totally see eggman creating her to be cute as a way to make other put their guard down, though for me there are 2 possibilities, eggman made her to help metal sonic like just being the sonic x amy thing or he made her to follow sonic around either as a camara or she is literraly amy but metal and is just obesses with sonic and its on purpose to have her hug him a bit too tightly or for her to distract him from metal sonic
17:15 I can see why people love Rusty Rose compared to Metal Amy, Rusty is apart of the concept of What is Sonic never existed and Eggman (or the Chaos Council) took over the world. Rusty is basically the opposite of Amy, where Amy is loving and compassionate to others, Rusy Rose is cold and mechanical she is just an emotionless machine ment to serve their master (Plus her design and character is very interesting and different compared to the other Amy robot's)
Honestly? My favorite Amy bots definitely go to both Archie Metal Amy & Rusty Rose Archie's Metal Amy design is really fucking cool like the concept of making the bot look like its fleshy counterpart will always boil down to the designs for Eggman; After all that is what Metal Sonic's core design came down to was to match Sonic's design back in the day so the metal bangs on her forehead i dont mind that. What i find really fucking cool about Archie's Metal Amy is the fact her entire lower torso/dress is just one giant rocket. Really gives off a Golurk type of design like maybe her rocket dress could also be used as a cannon? Who knows since we didnt get much of her due to Silver & Big & the fact she has interchangeable hands into twin Piko Piko hammers is also really cool! Like Archie's Metal Amy is a massive threat! Rusty Rose is also a favorite just because of the dark history of the character (Considering the organic flicky powering her looks like the same flicky from Adventure) & just how badass Rusty was as both a threat & an ally. Like compared to her other versions Black Rose & Thorn Rose? Really Rusty's only competition of being a badass was overtaken by Thorn Rose meanwhile Black Rose just kept listening to orders by Dread so yeah; Rusty is not one to fuck around w/

Gamera's not public domain.
Anything is Public Domain if you're brave enough.
Whomst and what?
Wut
Acapellla has spoken like a true MST3K nerd.@@Magnet_Chaos
It would be cool if metal amy from superstars had it's own separate hammer, with spikes on one end and projectiles coming out the other.
Rusty rose may be living a horrible life, but at least she can bust a groove to collision chaos bad future jp in her timeline
looks great! my favorite design element is the rocket booster dress very cool!
on the topic of the metal amy's we cant forget the lastest and my favorite version rusty rose an alternate universe robotisized amy created by sonic fracturing the newly introduce universe forming power gem of that series... yes i forget both the series name and the name of that new gem i just remember a bit of the series cuase i cant actualy follow the show...
That vent thing in Mecha Amy's forehead looks like the ZZ Gundam's forehead High Mega Cannon.
>In her 25th anniversary year no less
Sonic CD was released in 1993, it's her 30th anniversary as a character

Fun fact, Brutus programming is a copy of Robotnik’s brain programming.
So technically, Robotnik had a high chance in making this robot himself, if a robot with similar “brain” programming built it.
So... With that skirt design I see more of a hover a some heights and firing that Hi-Mega Launcher in her head type of boss encounter with her...
Metal Amy from the Archie comics is literally just a glorified Bullet Bill and I love that.
7:22 oh don't worry, you surprisingly hit the nail on the head on that one.
The intake on Metal Amy's head reminds me of the mega particle cannon on the Gundam ZZ 's head.
1:11 I like that for a guy who hates Sonic and his associates, he sure likes to sweat the details when making something in their likeness...
Metal Amy's hair looks to function like stabilization fins for her rocket dress. At least at certain angles
best part is the fact eggman put so much time in her design ends up falling flat considering this is the game that allows you to play as amy in her modern garb
I always thought Amy's Piko hammer was itself a reference to the Sonic 2 Eggmobile Hammer.
Oh, bonus thing i thought of afterwards, she could be introduced to specifically counter the zeti, using the same control method and thus being immune, and also meaning she could potentially stop omega and gemereld in their tracks, even when disarmed of her combative weapons, a neat plot twist if ever made cannon with the changes I've noted, just saying, metal amy should be a commander robot, and anything else second.
we truly do live in a Grim Crisis but we have mecha amy to help us get through it korieteh
Man Rosetrap is my favorite Sonic character thanks for bringing her up lol
It’s always a good day when there is a new installment of mecha March madness
Amazing video! Also can you cover some underrated Sega gems like Vectorman or Ristar?
You say that Tails Doll never attacked anyone, but in the Archie comics didn't he turn into some metal monster to swallow the city right before and right after the last Megamen crossover?

another amazing video 👍
it would be cool if you would also do a video in which you would talk about every single metal/mecha version of sonic
by the way am i the only person who wants a rusty rose vs mecha sally fight? i know we cant have that officially but i wonder why no one has made a fan animation or fan comic of it
nah your on point with that springtrap joke
Metal Amy seems to be more of an airborne Support Unit, that hovers around other Metals like a UFO, most likely dispersing energy recharges and providing defensive shields.
At least that's what her visual design suggests.
Metal Amy's forehead part almost reminds me more of the ZZ Gundams high mega cannon
ngl rose woman sounds hell funny but i was kinda hoping you covered maimy which is basically a cool fan made version of amy (i dont know much about her)
1:16 the eye looks like a crow cawing and I can't unsee it.
I imagine Superstars Metal Amy would be best for as you said, maneuverability, but also the usage of external weaponry. Usually with jet engines arranged in multiple spots like that, it's meant to allow quick changes and cancellations in momentum - something Metal Sonic is notoriously bad with - and because Metal Amy's hands look more complex than Metal Sonic's knife fingers for quick hit and run slashes, Metal Knuckles' huge claws for digging and punching and Metal Tails' chunky forearms seemingly designed to interface with heavy duty machinery, I believe that'd allow her to better-utilize whatever additional tech Eggman wanted to send her out with, like a huge rocket hammer or a high-performance vehicle.
the weird hole thing on mecha amy's head gives me Gundam vibes (EX: the double zeta's High mega cannon
12:00 this may just be me, but I see the eyelashes as also Eggman’s two prong mustache lol
you saying quills hurt more than arrows gave me an idea of an anmy trapped in a badnik using her body as a weapon
You could do some really cool body horror with it
The air intake on Mecha Amy's head is 100% a reference. There's a mech from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' franchise called the 'ZZ Gundam' , who has a similar head-crest
My favorite metal amy is rusty rose from sonic prime. Love your vids❤❤❤
15:39,
AND EVERYONE KEPT TELLING ME THAT "RUSTY ROSE's BIRD" IS NOT "GAMMA'S BIRD"!
I KNEW IT THE MOMENT IT WAS LEAK, EARLY ON.
I think Metal Amy should be Legless to make the Skirt look like a Rocket.
I never thought we'd see Silver and Big team up
You… were actually right on the money with that springtrap reference.
The second Fleetway robot has a real Shadow of the Colossus look in the face
7:03 Or, more recently, the armor-like robotization Tails went through in Lost World.
MICHAEL DON"T LEAVE ME HERE!!! *cough* Michael, MICHAAAAAAAEL!!!! HELP ME!!!! - Amy Rose
In my mind maybe her shutter eye, got damaged and had to be fixed, but was just so damaged that it couldn’t. So the council had to be more creative.
Wow! First Sonic, then Tails, and now Amy are 3 decades old. Just wait til Knuckles starts "Crushing in your 30s."
For the bang problem i have an idea, make them trap miniguns/turrets 10:51
The intake on the head of metal Amy reminds me of the double zeta gundams mega particle cannon
this made me realize that the amy mech in something about knuckles is a reference to archie metal amy
Hmmm I wonder do the robot that holds the animals absorbed. The oxygen that the animal and the body temperature
metal amy desing is so cute, and i can totally see eggman creating her to be cute as a way to make other put their guard down, though for me there are 2 possibilities, eggman made her to help metal sonic like just being the sonic x amy thing or he made her to follow sonic around either as a camara or she is literraly amy but metal and is just obesses with sonic and its on purpose to have her hug him a bit too tightly or for her to distract him from metal sonic
I like the idea that the rocket skirt can turn her so fast it can make her hammer swings much more dangerous.
I like Archie Metal Amy's arms looking kinda like Gamma's.
17:15
I can see why people love Rusty Rose compared to Metal Amy, Rusty is apart of the concept of What is Sonic never existed and Eggman (or the Chaos Council) took over the world. Rusty is basically the opposite of Amy, where Amy is loving and compassionate to others, Rusy Rose is cold and mechanical she is just an emotionless machine ment to serve their master
(Plus her design and character is very interesting and different compared to the other Amy robot's)
Honestly? My favorite Amy bots definitely go to both Archie Metal Amy & Rusty Rose
Archie's Metal Amy design is really fucking cool like the concept of making the bot look like its fleshy counterpart will always boil down to the designs for Eggman; After all that is what Metal Sonic's core design came down to was to match Sonic's design back in the day so the metal bangs on her forehead i dont mind that.
The Flicky Prime Amy/Rusty Rose has looks absolutely nothing like the one from Adventure, they're not even the same color.
My guy made a Springtrap reference!? You are so cool and hip!
Kinda surprised he didn't mention the Heroes easter egg, oh well lol
Man the Roboticized Masters were awesome.
