David simply did not look 43 here! He barely looks like he's out of his 20s yet! It's just so sad how time and self destruction eventually caught up with him. I miss him, and I miss hearing him perform. Such happy memories for me from my childhood. Rest in Peace David...you are missed. ✨💙🕊💙✨
25 years after that...it is so nice to see a real talent NOT a marketing project. David Cassidy will live on with his beautiful music and unforgettable vibe.
I was heavily into 70s nostalgia when this aired. I taped it and watched it numerous times. During the song, David falls into the lap of Jonathan Brandmeier, a Chicago radio legend. Danny had started working at the same station (hence his butt tattoo). Johnny B. Used to have Danny on during his down & our days and helped get him the gig.
David loved Danny you can tell and David was not like your average teen idol is now he didn't get in trouble till he was grown he was human remember him for his kindness not his missteps he had Dementia also that is a horrible way to die I believe he is now in heaven with his Mom and Dad
April Dannette yes, David did love Danny. He took him under his wing when they were adults. David was human, just like the rest of us, and had his faults too. I look at all the awesome happiness that he did (which was a LOT). The bad was nothing compared to his good. He didn't deserve to get dementia, along with all the other horrible things that happened in his life. RIP sweet precious angel-David. We love you. We miss yoy. You will be in our hearts forever. 😭💖
For a few minutes at first, it looked like David was trying to keep his distance from Danny, sliding over to the arm of the couch... But later he seemed a bit more relaxed, and nice, kinda like a big brother.. I thought that maybe at some point they may have had an argument, or something..
David has always been a great performer. My friend was a waitress at a casino that he was playing at about 5 years before he died and she was shocked at how little he was. he's only about 5' 5-6" tall. She also said one of the things they had to give him was a "companion" lets say for the night. David Cassidy til the end. RIP.
David claimed to resent his Partridge Family past as he supposedly did still around this time, but he was having a blast singing this song here to the audience.
You don't understand David's sense of humor. He was joking when he said he didn't want to sing, he wanted to talk about his book and do more shameless plugs about it. He joked about stuff like that all the time. he was really a sweet guy.
David comes off as cocky and confident...Danny comes off as confident but not cocky...Shirley is sophisticated, down-to-earth, sweet and charming...David really connected with the audience with this performance...He's a real showman...This is one of the most upbeat songs of all time, very joyful and uplifting...As a talk show host, I prefer Arsenio to Jay, Dave, Conan, George, the two Jimmy's - Kimmel and Fallon and Craig Ferguson...He had a great vibe about him and his show was phenomenal.
He was just playing with everyone. He seemed exhausted here, look at his eyes. He was trying to remain upbeat. We really miss Arsenio Hall on Late Night Talk TV over the years.
Oh, if id been in that audience & david came & sat in my lap, i probably would have had an anxiety attack. And that's not something that I'm prone to doing. Either that or I would have wrapped my arms around him and not have let him go. Oh sweet David Cassidy. Rest in peace sweet angel. I will love and miss you until the day I die. 😭💖
Danny spent weekends at Shirley's house because she wanted to get him away from his father who beat him. Susan was not there because of what David wrote about her in his book.
Partridge Family was a nice, wholesome show--something you don't see alot o today. I appreciated an interview I saw on Larry King a few months before David Cassidy passed. He shared how he had had some DUI's and then had a "spiritual experience," where he lifted his arms and gave all his burdens to God--basically "gave it all" to God. God bless, David--and all the Partridge Family. Shirley Jones--a very sweet person!
I totally hear what you're saying , but I kind of wondered if it was a bit of nerves . Those "add-lib" moments can sometimes come out wrong . I think he really would have rather talked . But he is such an amazing talent , his voice stayed as great as those early years , which is hard to do . I agree with you that it came out wrong . But I really enjoyed this reunion , and loved the things that David Cassidy went on to do after The Partridge Family . It was hard for him to shake off "Keith" .
if David could wait me two years after that show coz I didn't exist , I would marry him , im 24 and im fine marrying with him even if he s 60😍😍😍😍😍😍😭😭😭SERIOUSLY!!!!!!
Arsenio:"Do you want to sing now?" David:"No I want to talk about the book" (and whatever else he said). That comes off as so rude, like he's the only one that should get attention and he can't wait for his "big finale."
I just saw this episode. I use to like Arsenio to some extent back in the day. I do agree that DC did come across as rude to some extent. But it did seem he had a good time singing to the audience. It is sad he let bad financial decisions and substance abuse ruin his life and health. May he RIP.
After the Partridge Family Band disbanded, Mrs. Partridge ended up running off with Reuben Kincaid, the Band Manager, and leaving the kids to fend for themselves. The two youngest Partridges, were basically talentless and only knew how to lip-sync. Nobody wanted them so they ended up in an orphanage. They never got adopted. Keith Partidge ended up with a great solo career, till the drugs, booze and women caught up with him. Downhill after that. Laurie was the most successful. Danny was a flop.
Those people in the audience are so lucky that David touched them !!!!
David Cassidy the ultimate performer
Love them for the memories,...those times will never come again !!!

Everybody gets old.

David had such a cheeky sense of humor
Rip David and thank you such a baby doll and great legendary performer ox.😇
Anybody else keep watching the part where David goes into the audience and sings over and over and over again??? I sure miss him!

There is something so regal about Shirley.
Singing bit at end...marvellous
I grew up watching this show !
It's back on time!!
I love The Partridge Family and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
You don't understand David's sense of humor. He was joking when he said he didn't want to sing, he wanted to talk about his book and do more shameless plugs about it. He joked about stuff like that all the time. he was really a sweet guy.
Wow! That was the greatest performance I've ever heard I Love it!
Lighten up, David was having fun.
That was really awesome and I remember when I saw this when it originally aired!!!!!
Love this! Arsenio was the best.
The hug and kiss on the check made David happy to get a hug and kiss on the check his step mom .He finally got the reconciliation from a parent
Those were the days! David Cassidy & Arsenio Hall! Good times!

Cocky? No he doesn't. For heaven's sake, he was playing with everybody.
He was just playing with everyone. He seemed exhausted here, look at his eyes. He was trying to remain upbeat. We really miss Arsenio Hall on Late Night Talk TV over the years.
Thats me at 4:40😂😂😂❤ and yes I was soo embarrased… i was here as an exhangestudent at 16 years Old 🇩🇰
I cannot watch this enough love it xx
Much as I loved David when I was young, I have to agree.
I always had a crush on Shirley jones. I still am a fan of the partridge family.
Oh, if id been in that audience & david came & sat in my lap, i probably would have had an anxiety attack. And that's not something that I'm prone to doing. Fantastic!!! Thank you so much for posting, l love it!!
I wish I had , but so glad I got to see it now . I agree , it was a great show .

This shows who was doing the singing on the television show that it was David Cassidy and that he can do it all by himself
At this taping siting in dog pound- Spotted Ryan in the audience from my seat.
what happened to stars that gave us a closeknit loving family
sitcom. there is such a thing as clean fun, c'mon lets get Back
to it!!
Dont agree ,who wouldnt like david singing right up to face he was so hot.
Rip honey
I saw Suzanne C in the audience.
Where I didn’t see her

David's Brother was in it I think It was Ryan!
Dave was a good sport about it who went out of his way to try to put on a good show. I'm sure that was pretty awkward for him. Nice job.
Get off it. It was decided ahead of time.
lol dave is so funny
DC looks wasted out of his head. He does know how to work the crowd though.
Uh...If he was wasted, I think he wouldn't have been able to make it up or down the stairs....
It's pretty obvious Susan wasn't there after all bs he wrote in his book about her.
She probably didn't appreciate what he said about her,so she took the HIGH ROAD!
Very cool 😎
❤️DC❤️JP❤️
❤️I Think❤️
❤️I LOVE YOU❤️
🎶💖By David Cassidy💖🎶
❤️Same initials as my ❤️
❤️Boyfriend❤️
THAT WAS COOL! 😊😊😂😂
if David could wait me two years after that show coz I didn't exist , I would marry him , im 24 and im fine marrying with him even if he s 60😍😍😍😍😍😍😭😭😭SERIOUSLY!!!!!!
i think he slightly flubbed
Mullets were pretty silly.
As opposed to the Short and Ugly styles now?
He and a few other 70's pop starts got treated so badly later. Ask the Osmonds. Seemed anyone considered clean cut or wholesome were done for.
Arsenio said this audience was weak.
Arsenio:"Do you want to sing now?" David:"No I want to talk about the book" (and whatever else he said). That comes off as so rude, like he's the only one that should get attention and he can't wait for his "big finale."

If he was there to talk about the book thats why he wanted to but he still did it for the audience god people lay off
😂
Danny looks about 15
These woman are looking at him and thinking get the hell away from me
They are probably embarrassed.
Ack. My poor ears.

I thought Reuben Kincaid was the Bus Driver. I never knew that. Mind Blown!
Cringe
